European, oriented, good restaurant
Beautiful restaurant Team Travel, tries to take the visitor back to the time of 928. Musically, this succeeds very well. Interior very exciting, food very European, staff extremely friendly, some dishes very exquisite such as devil eggs, Russian eggs - affogato or risotto

Gem of a restaurant on a cobblestone street off Charles Street. Highly recommend a stop at the bar for an expertly made cocktail. I would go back for that alone! Lightning and ambience make the restaurant even more appealing. Food is excellent. They have a lovely private dining room for 35-40 people. Never disaqppoints.

First time in Boston for my parents and my kids. After walking around for a few hours and ending up around the park, we realized we should probably stop somewhere for a quick bite to eat. My husband found 1928 Beacon Hill on maps and we decided to try there. For a Tuesday, they were very busy. We didnโt have a reservation but instead of saying they couldnโt serve the 6 of us, they moved stuff around just to accommodate us. We werenโt overly hungry so we ordered a few apps. The lobster bisque had to be the best bisque Iโve ever had. Iโm still thinking about that bisque today. The lobster tempura was so good. And the chowder and crab cakes were good as well. Overall, 110% recommend this restaurant. While we only had apps, I will absolutely come back here next time I am in Boston just to see what else they offer and would recommend this restaurant to everyone.

Great atmosphere and decor. Really enjoyed the cocktails. The service was friendly. The let down for us was the food. For the price point the food was tasty but not special.

What a great find on beautiful Beacon Hill. I had walked by this charming restaurant many times & decided to make a reservation for Saturday Brunch. It met my expectations and then some. Great decor & lively yet personal. The food was amazing & our waiter was so professional and friendly. Definitely going back for week night dinner.

Looking for a good meal prior to a Bruins game, we were referred to 1928. We had great steaks - better than in many so-called steak houses. My filet (rare) was tender and full-flavored. My wife's steak frittes were also very good. Two small negative details: no baked potato to go with that great steak, and no vinegar for my wife's fries. Our waiter, Anthony, gave us a great wine recommendation -a beautiful super Tuscan. The atmosphere at this off-the-beaten-path place is vintage chic. It could be a cozy date night spot - were it not for the fact that it is crowded and a little on the noisy side. We thought that the value for this meal and service was very fair.

Gem of a restaurant on a cobblestone street off Charles Street. Highly recommend a stop at the bar for an expertly made cocktail. I would go back for that alone! Lightning and ambience make the restaurant even more appealing. Food is excellent. We tried the veal chop, scallops, lobster tortellini and more.

Having lived at 97 Mt Vernon St 50 years ago we had to go back and try the latest restaurant at that location with another couple. We were not disappointed. We asked for a quiet table and were seated in the back library room. Service was excellent and friendly. Not a large menu but our meals were very good. Nice selection of libations from the bar. Prices were high but not unusual for Boston.

The atmosphere is wonderful. We had dinner reservations at 8pm and got there a bit early so ended up standing near the very crowded bar. It is a popular place and many people were eating at the bar. Our food was excellent. The waiter was nice, it just seemed they were very crowded and he had a lot of tables. Felt he was having a hard time managing it all.
Be the first to ReplyGnarly welcome so we went to Beacon Hill Hotel instead
We walked in and were ignored by the woman on the desk, the welcome was just atrocious, she basically snarled at us. The welcome and the first impression of how dinner was going to be, we decided to leave. We went to the Beacon Hill Hotel for dinner and the service was great and the food was great. Thanks to the lovely people at The Beacon Hill Hotel - my advice is don't go to 1928, just go straight to Beacon Hill Hotel.
