75 Main Southampton Reviews from The Last Year
A staple restaurant of Southampton, been coming for years
A staple restaurant of Southampton, been coming for years but never did a review lol The ambiance is very light and airy with a nice sized bar and nice space for plenty of people to dine. The service is also good with a friendly staff. I ordered the burrata which is why I gave 4 starts instead of 5. The burrata wasn't creamy, it had more of the consistency of mozzarella, so I really didn't care for it. It seemed tough and not the right consistency. The halibut was really good. Very soft and light and was cooked in a good flavorful sauce. The red wine I ordered was also very good, but I didn't get the name. 75 main is very sceny for Southampton so the vibe is always good.

Despite having such a large party for dinner (on top of the already busy dinner shift), service was very prompt and efficient - upon 10-15 minutes of ordering, all our dishes came out still piping hot and delicious! The Natural Breast of Chicken was a unique take on chicken Marsala, with the black truffle stuffing and cheesy grits served on the side. The star of the meal was the Linguini with clams, however - super saucy and flavorful. We knew this was a hot place considering how many tables were taken - even seats at the bar! So make sure you have a reservation - they have patio and backyard outdoor seating as well.

Nice looking restaurant and food is generally pretty good but on the weekends they blast the music - they even blast it outside. What started out as a pleasant dinner got ruined by the LOUD LOUD music outside so we could barely talk. Service was good for a busy night and managers nice.

The vibes were amazing with a great view of Main Street but the food was just okay and very overpriced! We ordered seasonal waffles with berries and vegetable omelette. Staff was very attentive,

My husband, daughter, and I were visiting South Hampton on Saturday, July 6th. We came upon 75 Main and decided to have lunch. It looked very inviting and lively. We stepped up to the hostess stand, she asked how many, I said 'three' and she picked up the menus. I looked over at a table near the opening in the front of the restaurant and asked, 'Is that table available', and she began to head toward the table. Then, a large man, probably the Maître d', with a loud voice yelled 'RESERVATION?" We all stopped in our tracks and looked at him. I said 'No, we don't have a reservation." He barked at the hostess loudly "We first take a look at the reservations!", and then he turned and stared at me and with a pompous attitude said "... before we start POINTING at tables." I was in complete shock at the rudeness. I've been in the hospitality industry for over 25 years and have myself owned two restaurants, and never, ever, could I imagine an employee treating a customer like he treated us. More than the food, the way customers are treated is key to a great experience. This was far from a great experience. We did end up eating there as it was 12:15 p.m. on a Saturday afternoon on July 4th weekend and every other place would be filled. If the hospitality had been there I would have loved the place. I might not have minded that there were only four small pieces of watermelon and three pieces of cheese placed atop a mound of arugula on the watermelon salad. I might not have minded that we ordered two glasses of rose and were only brought one glass. I might not have minded that we were sat out in a 'garden' rather than in the front of the house - IF the hospitality had been there. But, it wasn't.

Returned because no other Southampton restaurant had availability. The food has gotten better, so that's a plus, but it still operates similar to a mess hall. Food B Friendliness A Wait Staff B Noise Level F Menu options B+
5 stars for service.
They were all lovely! 5 also for ambience outdoors. 3 stars for food. It was mediocre. Why are they serving kids burgers on English toast when we all know how picky kids can be.....The new caprese salad was $28 and those ingredients (adding various olives etc.) do not go together at all! Needs to be reworked, yuck.
This restaurant is absolutely horrible.
Booked a table with all my friends and family. For 9:45. We show up and are told all reservations before 12am are canceled because they are fully booked. Absolutely ridiculous. They had 21 hours to tell us our reservation was canceled and they didn't. No way you can book everyone with reservations and tell them when they get there that the reservation is canceled. Absolutely pathetic. Horribly run business. I'm so disappointed in this restaurant after looking forward to having fun with my friends they ruined my night. I won't be returning and neither should you.
rupaul wannabe is very rude.
we had a reservation and he refused to give us an actual table.. we got a "makeshift table" immediately next to the speaker which was way too loud, and he gave us attitide when we asked to move and for the speaker to be turned down a little.
$12 for water (wasn't told it costed extra).
$14 for deli microwaved chicken. $25 "salad" that had 3 slices of tomatoes. If you're going to charge a premium you need to provide a premium experience. Was seated at a make shift table in the back by bathrooms with waiters literally RUNNING next to us and had to move. Eat somewhere worth the $.
Definitely not my first time here.
This time i came with my crew. We were a party of 6 plus a baby. Everyone was very accommodating. The food was surprisingly good. Sometimes the food in the Hamptons is just so so. I got the pasta special. And it was delicious and kind of unique Everyone else seemed to enjoy the food. The bill was typical prices. Glad we came here. Better than I remembered
Nice outdoor seating and great atmosphere.
Stopped in for breakfast after a long red eye flight from AZ. Food was fresh and delicious. Service was lacking in eagerness to serve.
Came here with the group for brunch.
The food was excellent and it's really a beautiful restaurant. We sat inside, but you can also sit outside. Poached eggs, French toast, iced coffee. All great. This restaurant is where you can see very well dressed or dress more casual. But it's definitely a place to be seen at. Extremely polite staff. He go to if you're in the area.
Very disappointing, expensive meal,
I was here 10 years ago and it was a great restaurant. I was very excited to bring my partner here last week. Unfortunately the restaurant was double the cost I’d paid previously, and yes ok that was 10 years ago but it was for a very ordinary meal. The staff were very young and while they tried and smiled, they were totally untrained, inexperienced and English was not really understood. We had prawns to share, the wine didn’t arrive until our mains, which were two fillet steaks. The side of mash was. Old (in a cold dish) and everything came out really quickly. The salt cellar emptied over the prawns, and overall it was extremely expensive and disappointing. The whole meal took 1 hour 35 minutes and cost $300. Rip off.
Let me start off by saying I'm from NYC not the Hamptons.
The prices are diabolical. I paid 16 dollars for a handful of fruit. I can go to a store and with 16 dollars buy each fruit they served me in packs and make something to last the week. There are way too many waiters either walking around or just talking around me as I was sitting. I am not at some bar, I am trying to have breakfast. I will say though they are very nice, but I am trying to have breakfast not hear what your plans are for next week. As for the decor it was real nice. I liked the white theme and it was very clean. It was nice trying it out, but this is more of a one time thing. Paying 80+ for 3 items with me and my girlfriend will not happen again. Rather go to a diner and get fed a full meal.
Food was good and coffee was good.
Service was horrendous I had to ask 3 different people for hot sauce. By the time I got it I was almost done with my food. The ambiance was okay. And the servers aren't the best. We were sitting for a decent bit before we got help.
1 star for food and an extra star for friendly service.
Went here for lunch today. I ordered Fusiloni alla Vodka Telefono. There wasn't even a hint of pancetta in the dish even though it said on the menu it is part of it. It apparently was replaced by an abundance of pepper. I guess they do that so a server doesn't have to offer service from a pepper mill. The mozzarella in the dish was a semi-melted blob underneath the pasta. The other person with me had a burger with fries etc and said it was, "okay." Prices are higher than what you see online but i didn't downgrade them because of that since the menu i found was not posted by the restaurant. I would not return.
When I come to Southampton, I love to go to this restaurant.
Meals are delicious when I was there I enjoyed a green salad with seared fresh Tuna over it. The tuna was made with perfection, medium rare, which I like, and the salad had a lovely vinaigrette on it yummy for the tummy. The dessert was delicious apple. Tarte with berries yes it's called a party in mouth shhhhh The people who work here are lovely they very accommodating to customers
Went for the price fix menu and was absolutely thrilled.
The food was top notch, served beautifully, and very good size portions (so many restaurants cut corners with a price fix and this was not the case at 75 Main) The Christmas decorations are just gorgeous. Can't wait to come back. Thank you Zach & staff!
If I could give this place zero stars I would.
This restaurant was completely empty last night when my wife and I arrived at 6:00. We went there because they advertised a happy hour til 7 pm, a lobster special on Fridays and a 3 course prix fix Sunday through Friday night. I attach the ad that was running in the Dan's paper 2 weeks in a row. When we got there we were met with attitude from the hostess who said the happy hour was over at 6 when we walked in. The owner Zac was playing on his phone in a booth and when we pointed out the ad, he said it's til 7 pm. We sat at the bar of this empty place and I asked about the prix fixed menu. The hostess replied they only have the lobster and not the 3 course meal tonight. There is a difference between the Friday lobster special on one side of the ad and a prix fixed on the other side.Again I pointed out the ad, and they didn't care. So much for standing behind your ad. Zac was still playing on his phone. If they were honorable I would have gone there throughout the winter. They lost a lot of money on their poor decisions. I don't need to give them my business. We went somewhere else and spend our money on dinner.

75 Main is a very trendy well known restaurant in Southampton. The ambiance of the restaurant is beautiful and has a very light breezy feel to it. The chairs are trendy, the seats are nice, you feel like you're in another country. I started with the Caesar salad which was good, it could have used more dressing, so ask for extra on the side. It was a good salad to start, and could be big enough to share if you would only like a small portion. I ordered the crispy black bass. The fish is whole, and I don't like seeing the head or tail so asked for it to be removed. The presentation is nice, the fish is on the plate and its sitting on white rice surrounded by sautéed veggies and some broccoli and green beans. The broccoli was seasoned really good. The only issue with the fish because its whole is that you have to debone it yourself. Im no expert at this, so unfortunately I did swallow a few bones, and one felt as though it was stuck in my throat for 2 days after. I looked up a few solutions on how to get it out and I think I was successful, so just be really careful when eating. They don't offer an option to debone the fish for you after its cooked. Everything is usually very good at this restaurant, so I wouldn't be too concerned with what is selected from the menu. :)
Sup Par At Best and Wiped off Fish
Ordered the $52.00 Branzino and asked for no black pepper on top (allergy) Food came and it literally looked like it was thrown on the plate. Broccoli was all over the place and the Capanata underneath was also thrown on. I opened the two pieces of over cooked fish and there was pepper on it so we sent it back. The guy apologized, said they’d make a new one. Five minutes later, the same plate came back that had the same piece of fish ( that had been wiped off. It still had remnants of pepper and it had a weird burn mark that would have been impossible to duplicate in 5 mins). Rigatoni Bolognese was sub par at best. Very expensive waisted meal. Save your money and eat elsewhere.

Went for brunch today, service was ok, my friend got a chipped cup for his tea and 2 other friends had small forks to eat. My super bowl salad had tiny amount of quinoa and too much greens. I know they can do better than this.
