A Cevicheria Lisboa Reviews from The Last Year
Biggest disappointment of Lisbon
I had read about A cevicheria and chef Kiko and was super excited to eat here when I visited Lisbon. And wow what a disappointment. It was the worst causa I have ever eaten, the ceviche had hardly any seafood in it and was very expensive. The staff seemed like they did not want to be there, made us feel like we weren't cool enough to be in the restaurant and were working extremely slowly. We waited a very long time for our dishes to come out. I honestly think the causa was forgotten as it took nearly 90 minutes and asking a few times for it to come out, only to be underwhelming. And the staff had the audacity to pre load a tip into the payment terminal after such terrible food and service! Don't waste your time and money coming here. I really do not understand the hype about this place, when there are so many insanely delicious places to eat in Lisbon that are also much cheaper.
Wow!
What an experience! Impeccable service, constant attention, a friendly environment and competent staff, what more could you ask for? Yes, the benevolent presence in the heart of the room of chef Francisco known as Kiko who spreads in all languages his culinary passion and his joy of transmitting. Undeniably a must-see address in Lisbon.
An unforgettable evening
Immersed in the heart of Lisbon I found the perfect refuge: A Cevicheria. This cozy restaurant, with its friendly staff, captivated me from the first moment. My choice: the authentic “Anticucho de Vieira e Milho Baby” (Scallop, Baby Corn, Bacon, Green Grape and Aji Amarillo) To complete the experience, I tried Cancha, Tinta de Choco Flat Bread, Pão de Milho, Chifles, Manteiga de Codium and Aji Amarillo Dip And, of course, a sweet ending with Choco Plátano with Aji Amarillo, because no feast is complete without a sweet touch. This place is more than a recommendation, it is a must. I am sure that I will return to continue exploring their culinary proposal.
What moment …!
🇵🇹 Descobri este restaurante hoje, sob o conselho de un amigo que me companhou. What a surprise. The cozinheiro is present, available and friendly, open to discussion. Had a certainty 🙂 🇫🇷 I discovered this restaurant today on the advice of a friend who accompanied me. What a treat. The chef was present, available and friendly, open to discussion. His young team is great. And what about the meal: the “Ceviche de Salmão e Pitaia” is a delight and the dessert “Mil-Folhas de Maracujá e Chocolate Branco com Gelado de Fava Tonka” is the best I have ever eaten. I will definitely come back :)
Excellent & expensive, worth to wait
As no reservations can be made, we bridged the waiting time with some pisco sours, which are expertly made with the customers being able to watch. Unfortunately, the tasting menu can only be booked by the whole table, therefore we settled for single courses of ceviche, tacos and potato purée with pulpo. Everything was excellent, but the latter hot dish and the tacos with tuna belly stand out as extraordinary. Do not miss the desserts - we tried all and they left a lasting impression. Good wine available. Be prepared to spend a lot, it is quite pricey.
One visit is not enough
Most delicious food & drinks. Staff are lovely. Open when a lot of restaurants are closed during siesta. I would eat here every day if I could.
Food poisoning + not worth the hype
Unfortunately, this was the WORST dining experience of our girlfriends’ holiday in Portugal. Immediately following dinner, those of us who ate the Ceviche Puro all came down with food poisoning and spent our last night in Lisbon violently ill. I did reach out to the restaurant to let them know, but did not receive a response. Food and service were just average. Portions were super small. Our ceviche had a very small amount of fish; it was mostly other ingredients. We watched them scoop the tuna for tuna tacos out of a container from the fridge (not fresh!). Even without the food poisoning experience factored in, I would not return to A Cevicheria.
Not worth
The decoration is nice , the food tastes too sour and salty. We have been to many cerviche restaurants. This one the worst. The waitress add 14% on the bill for the tip in Lisbon. I don’t want to discuss over that amount but it’s not right to add like that.

overrated
Too expensive for what it offers, food low in quantity, house cocktail low in quality and very expensive, the place is small and I didn't understand why, the door must always be open so it's cold
Good restaurant but a bit too crowded
We read about this in a few City Guides and a cooking Book we have at home (Polvo & Pato). This was a must visit ! Food was delicious but the restaurant was a bit too crowded. Very nice restaurant but Peixola was just a bit better.
Too stuffy, expensive with ok food
For the price, the food quality was just ok. The service was stuffy and uptight. You can do a lot better in Lisbon. I would not recommend.
When asking people for recommendations on restaurants prior
When asking people for recommendations on restaurants prior to visiting Lisbon, this restaurant was mentioned. So, I decided to give it a try. To my surprise, as soon as I entered the store, my friends and I were seated right away. I think it was partially due to the fact that we were eating an earlier dinner and partially due to the very rainy weather outside. But luckily, we had no issues getting seats without any reservation. When we got seated, we were asked if we wanted cornbread to start which we immediately agreed (little did we know that it wasn't complimentary and cost us per person...). We got corn bread on top of a bed of corn nuts with 2 different spreads. The spreads were very smooth and flavorful. I also had the highly recommended pisco sour. The drink was very nice - very light and airy. Of course, we could visit A Ceivcheria without trying a variety of ceviche dishes, so we opted for the TUNA & FOIE GRAS CEVICHE and SALMON & DRAGON FRUIT CEVICHE. Both the ceviches really had flavors that were bursting in my mouth. The combination of all these ingredients was something that I've never taste. Chef Kiko combine the soft texture of the tuna/salmon with the hard textures of nut hazelnut and cashew respectively. Both ceviches tasted a bit tarty - the tuna & foie gras one was a bit more sour. But, I really thought these two were worth a try. QUINOTTO NERO WITH TIGER PRAWN & SCALLOP The quinoa was made with cuttlefish ink, so it was black and makes your tongue black as well. The quinoa was nicely flavored but tasted a tad bit salty for me personally. The scallops were very soft. The tiger prawn was big, but wasn't too much meat to eat from after extracting from the shell. This was one of the more filling dishes that we had. Each ingredient was set so nicely on the plate. The flavors were very unique and you can tell it was created by a chef who knew what he was doing. I really enjoyed my dining experience despite the expensive price tag. Overall. I thought it was a 4.5

Food amazing, service was one of the nicest in Portugal, the Pisco Sour was delicious, I usually can only do one because it can be too sweet but here it's perfect and I could easily do 2.

Recommended to us by a local, this was our first stop along a food tour we put together for ourselves. We started with a pisco sour, that it their signature drink. I wasn't sure what to expect but I was a fan. Light and refreshing, went down very easy. Since we were going to multiple places and this was our first stop, we on'y ordered a few things but what we did order was excellent. We had the tuna and foie gras ceviche- wow! The flavor combination was a symphony of delicious flavors. tuna ceviche, foie gras, beetroot, raspberry and lychee topped with crushed hazelnuts- drool! Next we had the tuna belly tartare tacos, they were delicious in their own right. The service was quick and great. We will def be back on our next trip to Lisbon and we will order the same things.

A must visit - delicious ceviches and excellent other dishes including quinotto (risotto made out of quinoa). Great selection of wine. Delicious pisco while you wait as it's No Reservations - went twice so far and loved it all
Best ceviche ever !!
On another late afternoon, we happened upon A Cevicheria, a fantastic restaurant while visiting the neighbourhood of Príncipe Real. There was of course a line outside, but we were asked if we would like to have a drink while waiting for a table. They served us a frothy Pisco Sour and it was frankly the best drink I’ve tasted in a long time. Lucky for us, it only took a few minutes and we were seated at our table on their terrace. This is a very popular Peruvian restaurant opened by the chef Kiko Martins in 2014. There are two sections, inside, which is has brightly white-tiled walls and a fantastic giant octopus suspended from the ceiling above a handful of tables and seating around a horseshoe-shaped bar. The second space is the outside busy terrace, perfect for people watching. The menu is mostly ceviches and causas, smaller dishes to share, including an excellent barbecued roast octopus with black mashed potatoes. We ordered the ceviche puro of white fish and shrimp, in lime juice with red onion, tiger’s milk and rich dollops of mashed sweet potato crowned with sweet-potato chips. We also had the mini tuna tacos covered in a soy, sesame, ginger, togarashi and Tobiko sauce and a bottle of vinho verde. Both dishes were divine, however, it was not cheap, but definitely well worth the price.
Overall 4.
5. We two had dinner. FOOD: 4.0. - 4.0: Prawn with Quinoa and Cuttlefish ink. Salty, "but nice if one wants a change from traditional Portuguese cuisine." - 4.0: Ceviche: Tuna, Foie Gras, raspberries. (Note that the Foie gras isn't like that of Dordogne.) Very good. - 4.5: Chocolate cake with platano (banana). Banana mixed with a little bit of pepper served as a gelatin with chocolate and ice cream. Excellent mix of tastes. AMBIANCE: 4.0. White and bright. Nice blue-tile floor. SERVICE: 5.0. A large team in ties worked together seamlessly to take care of us.

My favorite spot in Lisbon! It was recommended to us by a local and we ended up going there several times on our trip. The food is amazing. Obviously, you have to get a Pisco sour... or two. The space is beautiful and the staff is so kind. Thank you Sergio and Miguel for making our visit extra special! 10/10

We did the tasting menu, which started off great--three truly excellent and imaginative ceviche dishes, all with some surprising flavor pairings. The last two dishes, (a bbq octopus, and a very hot quinoa porridge and fried prawn), took the rest of the dining experience into a less thoughtful direction. This was compounded by a dessert of chocolate cake, hazelnut foam, and a funny looking banana purée that also left us feeling like the tasting menu was more of a sampler platter than a conscious culinary journey. On top of this, when asking if any drinks paired well with the menu, I was offered champagne or white wine.. the website even tells you to get a Pisco Sour. Looking at the rest of the menu, there looks to be better options, so either Harry Styles has terrible taste in restaurants and should not be trusted, or just be confident in what you like and avoid the prix fixe--it's possible that both are true. Ambiance was stellar, hopefully the food and service can elevate to make this place truly remarkable. Enjoy your visit to Lisboa!
Absolutely amazing culinary experience located in the host
Absolutely amazing culinary experience located in the host area of Lisbon! Would highly recommend. We were unable to gain a reservation, so we dropped by. Had a Pisco Sour as we waited appx 20-30 mins for a table. If we ever make it back to Lisbon, it will be on our list of go to restaurants!
If I have the option to give more than 5 stars, I would!
If I have the option to give more than 5 stars, I would! The place is a must to visit and return to later. All food is very unique and delicious. I wish we lived near by to go here every week. Instagram-friendly interior design and food presentation. Very good service. Highly recommend this restaurant.

I posted a request for a reservation this Thursday between 6:30 and 8 pm and initially the potential seller said it would be fulfilled by today. Now they changed it that they will only fulfill it by 5pm that same day. Basically I would have an hour and a half to get to the restaurant. Is this allowed?

@AssuringStretch11 It's definitely within your rights to tell the potential seller that the new arrangement doesn't work for you and ask them to stop working on your bid if that's all they can guarantee. Perhaps another seller can step in and do better for you. Also, in general you're allowed to ask someone holding your bid to stop working on it at any time and cancel it.
