With an impressive array of wines, we indulged in a cheese plate to complement our selections. The attentive staff guided us expertly, ensuring the wine and cheese paired beautifully. Its location, just a stone's throw from Piazza del Popolo, makes it an effortless choice for a delightful lunch or even more enchanting evening.

SPOILED BAROLO, DENIED REFUND BAROLO ROVINATO, RIMBORSO NEGATO Great selection but issues with wine care and service. Bought a 30+ year old Barolo that I opened hours later to find it went bad, with a brown appearance and vinegar taste (understandable that a wine that old could go bad). I returned the next day with the bottle to ask for a refund/exchange. Riccardo tasted it and claimed there was nothing wrong with the wine refusing any reimbursement. The telling part is that the bottle was left open until I corked it to return to the store. A wine that old will go bad in a couple of hours so it certainly was bad by the time he tasted it, yet he claimed it was "perfect". I'd understand a no refund policy, but not a blatant lie.

Every year we have a bottle or two at this beautiful wine shop. The wine is always great and we discover a new favorite bottle. The staff is always great at helping us navigate the huge selection. The back of the shop is a Michelin Star restaurant. How can you go wrong.
Be the first to ReplyThis restaurant recently received a Michelin star, and I
This restaurant recently received a Michelin star, and I have to say it is well-deserved. We ate at two other one-star Michelin restaurants while in Rome and this one was definitely ahead of the pack. The restaurant is very small and is at the back of a great wine shop. The restaurant has no wine list. Rather you get to check out the wine shop and pick from there (and pay the same price as you would if buying the bottle to take home). They have bottles ranging from 15 Euros to thousands (think Mouton Rothschild). The service is utterly top notch, which is always an added bonus. But of course the most important part is the food, and this place is doing it right. Their food is a creative play on traditional Roman dishes. Their "carbonara," for example, are the most heavenly eggs with pecorino and guanciale. And I know you're wondering how good eggs can really be right now. The answer is better than you ever imagined. Another great play on Italian food was our dessert. Caramelized tomatoes with mozzarella ice cream. Desserts are where fancy schmancy restaurants usually lose me. ESPECIALLY when they try to make savory things sweet. Side note - I once had mustard ice cream. It was as terrible as you are thinking. But somehow, this caprese dessert dish worked perfectly. A brilliant balance of flavors, marrying the sweet and savory in a meal ending satisfying way.The restaurant was so slow when we were there, which is a damn shame. It so deserves the love of Romans and tourists alike.

Remarkable wine selection with the snarkiest waitress in Rome. Crabby about describing wines and generally unhelpful unless you know what you want. Ungenerous pour. Good wine shop but will not return for service. Too bad. I wanted to like it.

This great wine shop and restaurant is on a quiet street away from the crowds of Rome. I ordered the chicken ravioli which was delicious with a red pepper sauce and mushrooms that added great flavor. Their wine selection is fantastic and the service was excellent. Would definitely visit again.
