Alewife Reservation entrance at Acorn Park Drive Cambridge Reviews from The Last Year
Perfect place to stay for college tour
We came to Boston to tour Tufts and Harvard for my kid. We didn’t want to be close to both and the location was great for our purpose. The hotel looked brand new and the rooms were in great condition. We had a wonderful stay. If our kid end up attending college in Boston, we will come back and stay here again.
Nice hotel - not the most convenient location
The hotel itself is great - modern, clean, the rooms were great, the staff were professional, friendly and courteous. The location is not that convenient. Access is only via an off ramp on one side of a divided highway. So to get back to the hotel, you always have to loop around. The T is about a 10+ minute walk away, but it’s down a road the goes along a park area that is a bit overgrown. I would be afraid to walk down that street at night - there is no one around. There are no restaurants or shops close by - only if you walk over to the T and even then, there are not a lot of options. The breakfast is extra and we knew that - no fault to them. But it’s $21 per person for a buffet that at other hotels would be included. Parking is also extra - $25 per night - and we knew that too - but that is the only option. There is no on street parking at all.
Average hotel and expensive.
Spent two nights here in May 2024 and booked a 1 bedroom suite. Was given room 216. Marriott Bonvoy member here but do not think I have ever stayed at an AC Hotel before - and I now know why. The room was about $213 per night and with tax nearly $292 per/night yet there is no free breakfast (you can pay $18), the furniture is falling part (wood peeling, stains on the couch), and you can literally hear everything above you (and I live in a NYC apartment and thought it was bad - the floors are not carpeted in the room to protect noise yet the hallways are, which makes no sense), and a TV that constantly freezes. Location is in the middle of an office park about a 20-25 minute drive to downtown Boston.
Great Meeting Experience
We used the Alewife meeting room for a business retreat and it was spacious, comfortable and had good tech support. Also, the beverage and lunch service was A+. The staff were responsive to our questions and requests and the customer service was excellent.
COMPLETELY RIPPED OFF FOR MEDICRITY
I was completely gauged by Priceline who don’t mention the 25% tax on top of the price of a very average room looking out onto a car park. The hotel is in the middle of nowhere so you’d better rent a car. The staff were nice but I will NEVER STAY THERE AGAIN! Make sure the price you are quoted includes the tax and the $140 deposit.
A good hotel brand, but horrible hotel
This hotel is not in its best form at all, first the hotel has a towel shortage as every time we would ask for more (they only gave us towels 1 at a time) they would either only give us one or they said they had no more left and there washing the rest. Next, the breakfast of the American and European are absolutely horrendous as they offer less than a holiday inn, despite that they charge $18 a person! While this hotel is livable, this is definitely a below average experience.
Great place for an overnight in Cambridge
Marriott has a great points program so we only had to pay for overnight parking ($25). This is a great location near a nature reserve that is a short walk away. It's also right near the highway and the Alewife T station, and near Summer Shack, a local gem of a seafood restaurant. The room was spotless and modern, the bed was very comfortable, and the bathroom was clean and well-lit. I appreciated the white noise machine since the room overlooked the Route 2 highway but it was very quiet. Will definitely stay again!
Class of 2024 Weekend Adventure
The Pioneer Valley Regional School, Class of 2024, consisting of 26 students and 4 chaperones stayed for 2 nights on their class trip to explore Boston. Kristina was great at helping us plan our stay, I was able to do everything via email. Martin and Fabio were so friendly and excited for us when we told them about our adventures. All the staff at the hotel were wonderful to our students!! I would absolutely recommend this hotel to other class advisors, especially with the train station walking distance from the hotel. A great time, so much fun, and a fabulous breakfast buffet.
3* that should be a 4*
I was in Boston overnight and this AC was across from my destination. Mind you, last week I stayed at ' The Intercontinental' of which I only stay if there is one in my destination. Intercontinental's are mostly 5*. Well, I was pleasantly surprised to walk into the A/C to find a newly designed small lobby with more of the accouterments of a sleek, 4* hotel. Clean, Clean, Clean. Lovely designed cozy bedrooms and soundproof rooms. Brazilian shower with brand soap and a very large, stylish shower. The breakfast buffet was very good and again, not one of those 'Marriot 3* hotels where you can make your free breakfast....Waffle iron and Log Cabin syrup, tired fruit, etc.... This buffet offered many top-notch continental and American. breakfast. I was very impressed
Excellent hotel
The hotel is very clean. Staff was friendly and very accommodating. I had a minor issue with a staff member but this issue was swiftly and satisfactorily resolved by the hotel’s management. Furthermore this hotel is very close to the local train station which made it easy for us to get around.
Yet another hotel with a translucent sliding bathroom door
I am not a fan of translucent sliding bathroom doors, prefer a good old fashioned door that locks and does not cast light into the room while my wife is trying to sleep. Our two queen bed room had a view of a parking garage, adequate lighting, a desk and an upholstered chair, never turned on the TV. Only two drawers and a narrow closet rod with six clothes hangers. There is an odd, long bench on the wall that we used as a luggage rack. Wireless internet was fast with no password required. Every other day housekeeping, ask at the front desk for more coffee packs. It is a pleasant 10 minute walk via Alewife Brook Greenway to Alewife Station, terminus of the Red Line. Most effective blackout curtains ever, although the night light in the bathroom and the tiny red light on the television bugged my wife. Housekeepers need better supervision. A housekeeper slammed the door repeatedly while servicing neighboring rooms, let the protruding deadbolt bang, bang, bang against the door jam when fetching things from her cart. A wastebasket wasn't emptied one day, the shower drain cover was out of place for two days, our sheets kept pulling out, were not tucked in far enough. Who would line a recycle bin with a plastic bag? Maybe the housekeeper's supervisor needs better supervision. I did not need to hear canned music in the lobby and thought it rude to pipe music outside. We were not tempted to try the $21 breakfast buffet, even though we found no other restaurants in this office park.
Great pool, friendly staff
Visiting my family who were staying there. The pool was wonderful because it and deck area were very clean. It had a relaxing ambiance, the lighting was illuminating but not glaring. The air was warm. The pool was cool but not cold. Wash off shower & fresh towels were present. Entry pool stairs with railing. No one was there. We had it to ourselves.
Avoid not worth the price and uncomfortable hotel
Avoid this hotel. It's cold noisy and expensive. Yes it's a 10- 12 min walk to the T, which is a nice walk. but the hotel, all wrong. Bad pillows, noisy, strange lighting, not comfortable for a stay. the pool is tiny, not worth trying, the breakfast is ok, but over $20 per person for a buffet with very average food, limited foods if you are gf or low carb or want to eat healthy ... nothing nearby to eat or do except get on the T.. Parking is $25 a day.. very expensive and not a relaxing comfortable place to be.
Business Meeting - Would Book Again
Had a one-day business meeting at the AC Hotel and it went very smoothly. All of the hotel staff where friendly and accommodating. The sales manager, Christina Kirby, made the experience of booking a meeting very easy. She was professional, friendly and responsive to questions. Will definitely keep this hotel in mind for future meetings.

When you sell a reservation that has a prepaid fee AT takes a commission on that fee. This doesn’t really make sense because it’s an expense the seller incurs not part of the profit that is shared.
For example:
Carbone NYC fee to book table for 2 is $108.88
If you sell it for $200 on AT you get $140 from them.
Your net profit is $31 and AT collects $60 in fees.
It would make more sense not to charge commission on the upfront fee as this creates a disincentive and results in higher costs for buyers.

Agreed. Ultimately not addressing this month after month is clearly resulting in a drop in certain venue’s rankings & sales.
