Neighborhood Restaurant
An adorable restaurant in a cute neighborhood. There is parking in the back! You can sit outside or inside and order from your phone, at the window or inside from a server. It has a very relaxed vibe and great music. There is a small attached market with take home meals, salads, wine, and deserts.
Be the first to ReplyFirst Time Diners
This is the first time we’ve dined at Amalfi’s. It was about 5pm on a Sunday and we chose a booth. The atmosphere is comfortable and staff was friendly. We were told portions are generous so we skipped an appetizer. Two of us had spaghetti with meat sauce and a side of 2 meatballs each. The meat sauce was excellent and meatballs were quite good. A generous slice of bread came with each order. My wife had chicken parmigiana which was served with a side of spaghetti. The chicken was a bit dry, possibly a little overcooked and wouldn’t try that again. Our friend had the lasagna and said it was very good. The house wine - Pinot Noir was okay. We didn’t try dessert but they looked very good. Total bill excluding tip was a bit over $100. Not bad for a Sunday dinner. We’ll go back probably for the pizza for which they are evidently known for. I expected more, so I was a bit disappointed.

The ordering process begins by scanning a bar code and the rest you have to basicadlly try to figure out. The printed menu and the wifi menu have different selections making it very confusing . The wifi menu does not include of discriptions of entre ingredients, and there is no one to ask for clarification.Once we figured out the orderng process we waited over 1 hour for our pizza to be delivered to our table.. The server never check backed to inquire about the service our our needs. The printed menu has very few selections> Amalfi's appears to be a bare bones operation these days. THE PIZZA WAS not prepared the ordinady way it was basically a cheese pizza with the toppings placed on top> We DID NOT ENJOY the dining experience nor the food-it will be a long time before another visit to our once favorite pizzeria.

This place and this menu are very offensive for the Italian cuisine! There is nothing Italian here, ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. And also it's so much expensive.

I've been coming here for at least 50 years, mostly for the pizza. Last night's visit was my last. Prices were high, and the pizza was terrible. It was overcooked and short on toppings. In short, the legedary combination was closer to a pepperoni pizza. We got there at 6:15 and there were only a few diners. By 7:15 it was empty. In the pre-pandemic days you had to wait for a table so I'm guessing that they've lost most of their regular customers. What a disappointment!
Be the first to ReplyPaper plates and plastic cups at fine dining prices
We've been going to this restaurant for over 20 years and will not go back again. Paper plates and plastic cups at fine dining prices. Ridiculous. Used to get bread, salad and spumoni with your meal. Nothing comes with meal now, and the prices are higher. Service left a lot to be desired. Nice enough servers, but we had to ask, sometimes repeatedly, for what we needed. I really expected more and am so disappointed. Won't be back and would never recommend.

This is a great Italian family restaurant. The food is reasonably priced and the staff are all eager to please. We have dined in and have ordered from Grubhub due to the pandemic. Glad they are able to keep the doors open during this difficult time.

The only good item I've had was the pizza. The lasagna was salty and over cooked noodles. The spaghetti had little meat sauce and noodles over cooked. The Linguini noodles were way overcooked, reminded me of cafeteria style. The Alfredo sauce was greasy and little flavor. So disappointing.

Okay, there are several excellent Italian restaurants in Portland and the best can be found here. I've been coming here since I was little and always enjoy the friendly, loving staff who really know their menu that is full of traditional favorites. I had the chicken parmesanio that was huge, tender, and delicious... I think it's the sauce! Others in the group had ravioli in alfredo sauce and spaghetti, and loved every bite, plus a little spumoni for dessert. It can get busy and a little loud at times, but only adds to the great vibe. Great cocktails, too. Excellent, recommend highly!

Amalfi's has been a go to place since college. No more. Carbonara gave me food poisoning. That wiped out many years of good memories.
Be the first to ReplyBest food and overall great vibe!!
Our visits to Amalfi's is always for a family member's birthday. Each time we visit this restaurant we are more than satisfied. the food is always fresh, the service is caring and available. Mr favorite is the carbonaro alfredo; absolutely to die for. There is also an upstairs area for private large group events
