We were rushed!
We felt rushed by the staff every step of the way. Everyone was polite but insistent on getting our orders and moving fast. Expecting a nice experience, the three of us were there for maybe an hour. And the place was not full. The food was very good but not outstanding. The wine list is made of less known Italian and French wines but we managed to find an excellent Beaujolais at a good price. We were visiting our daughter in LA and she chose the restaurant... a pity.

Now resurrected post COVID as Antico Nuoco but in the same location, this place is amazing. With a house in Italy and years of eating the very best Italian food, my standards are pretty high. Antico Nuovo is definitely up there with some of the best. If Iโm picky the pasta should be a bit more al dente and you should bring LOTS of money because this place is NOT cheap but the food is very good and the wine list is interesting. Service was attentive, pleasant and efficient.

Spectacular food and impeccable service. Can't say enough about this hidden gem. True haute cuisine in the most unlikely place. Subtle flavors beautifully presented on the plate. Great top to bottom

Course after course, servings are large enough to share and beautifully plated. It is an open kitchen; all surroundings are distinctive. Note their splatterware tableware, the cutlery, and decor. Attention to detail in every aspect. Burrata and ricotta to start.pappardelle and broccoli di ciccio next and our mains were pollo e toscone and agnello con olive. We made room for ice creamsโhoneycomb and strawberry. Simply put, Chef Chad Colby serves ยซ rustic ยป Italian dishes that are unparalleled. Nice wine list as well.

It is an interesting location in a Koreatown strip mall and I was approached for change by the person in front of the business next door, but once inside it was a great atmosphere. Location aside the food and service were fantastic. We got the focaccia and it is a must...fabulous. We took the server's suggestion and ordered the seasonal chitarra pasta with morel mushrooms and ramps. It was not what I would have chosen but was top notch! We also took his guidance on the dry aged branzino and the potato side dish. The branzino was good, but we wish we had selected another pasta instead. The potatoes with roasted garlic, crรจme fraiche and chives was also fabulous. For dessert we got their well known ice cream. We chose the seasonal strawberry offering that was absolutely amazing. It had the most pure and strong strawberry flavor I have ever had in an ice cream. It tasted like a creamy strawberry purรฉe. We only got a couple photos because we were focused on eating LOL. We will definitely be back!

truly a wonderful experience ! we had early reservations and the entire staff was there to greet us and assist. Not overbearing at all, they were pleasant and knowledgeable. This is primarily a place where you share orders for the whole table. So one gets to experience lots of super tasty dishes if you go with 4 or more. The portions are fair, not too small or large. The big thing is that they are all AMAZING !! Everything was truly delicious. Super fresh, piping hot, and beautifully presented. If you love ice cream, even if you don't, their selections are the most decadent and delicious I have ever tasted. Prices are fair, actually a value for the quality of the meal. P.S. ther were several table with kids and it was not an issue.

First the good: This is a beautiful place with some good dishes. The antipasto is great- perfect anchovies, eggplant, ricotta, and decently priced. The radish salad is a must (we ordered a second one.) And the ice creams are a creamy texture I've never tasted before. The service is good, which is no surprise considering they have what seemed like upwards of 20 staff for a room with about 30 tables. (They add 20% to your bill- calling it an administrative charge.) Here is why we do not rate it higher: The red wines by the glass were $18 and $28 PER GLASS and they were absolutely nothing special. A restaurant that touts itself as "rustic Italian" had no southern Italian wines by the glass and nothing robust except the aforementioned $28 one. (I saw not a single Italian in the kitchen anyway.) The pastas were mediocre at best. We ordered two and the waiter said "great choices" not letting us know that they both had the exact same red sauce as the base, which meant they tasted exactly the same. It's the Emperor's new clothes here. Go if you want to pay a boatload to see a lot of cool B-listers with attitude. Not for the food.
