The best steak in Albuquerque.
..and definitely top 10 nationally. This humble adobe location is small and intimate. The staff are very welcoming and professional. The waiters take their jobs very seriously and aim to make the experience top notch. My favorite is the Chateau Briand...medium rare. They cook it over an open fire to perfection. I've ordered this a few times now and they never miss! Nice crust on the outside and the tender, juicy tenderloin cuts like a hot knife on butter. The mushrooms on top and the creamy mashed potatoes!!! It's just such an experience. I can't recommend it enough. I travel to Albuquerque, a city I don't care for at all, but this one diamond in the rough is enough to make everything so much better. Btw, I did just try their seafood--not something I'd normally consider in New Mexico, but like everything they do, it was amazing.

This is a world class restaurant with world class food and service. A great date night place. Ambience is romantic and good vibes. I had the filet, which was super. We will definitely be back.

I came into town on business and heard great things about this restaurant so I decided to bring my colleague and business partner here for a business dinner. The restaurant's website stated all seating was by reservation and wanted patrons to call for reservations. The phone was appeared to be off of the hook as it busy and never ranged. Since it was a rainy Thursday evening, we decided to stop in and see if we could be accommodated. The host had his back turned to the front door. I asked if we have a table for three. He looked me up and down and said in a very abrasive tone, "In 15-30 minutes!" I replied okay. I wanted to explain that I tried calling to alert him that their phone maybe off the hook because it ranged busy. He cut me off and yelled 15-30 minutes and proceeded to turn his back on me. I was not only embarrassed for him but also myself and my colleagues. We immediately left as I am not in the business of supporting a business that is rude. I will spend my money elsewhere.

I heard from multiple sources that Antiquity Restaurant is unquestionabley on the short list of candidates for best restaurant in Albuquerque. Armed with these trusted recommendations, I made a dinner reservation a month in advance, and then we dined here. Antiquity did NOT disappoint! Located in the touristy portion of Old Town, when we arrived and saw the exterior for the 1st time I didn't have high hopes for the interior, but it turned out to be all good; the inside is dark, cozy, and almost dripping with Old World charm. We were seated at a small, semi-private wooden booth, and we could smell and hear them cooking steaks on the charcoal grill inside their brick and stone oven; you can actually see the oven when you walk in the door. We started off with a soup, made with chicken, cream, and green chilis; it was delicious, and the salad they served with it was even better :-) We both ordered ribeye steaks as our entree. The steaks were perfectly seasoned, wonderfully marbled, and beautifully presented, with fresh vegetables and broccoli and cheddar mashed potatoes. Service was informative, attentive, and friendly - the owner even stopped by toward the end of the meal to make sure we were receiving good care (a very nice touch!). All in all, we couldn't have asked for a better dining experience. I highly recommend this restaurant, and look forward to returning!

The building and its history are worth a visit on their own. Service was wonderful, and the food did not disappoint. I loved that our table felt very private. We started with an oyster dish and salads. I had the spiced shrimp, and he had lobster. We had the dessert trio, which was perfectly sized. Everything was delicious!!

Service was great, almost a little much, but generally good. . Reservations were a little tough to get but I can see why. Best steak I had in Albuquerque
Be the first to ReplyWe were able to get a table here for our anniversary.
The parking is ample and paid at a lot that is a very short across the street and half way down the block. This is old town Albuquerque so the buildings are charming examples of original architecture. We arrived a little early and waited in a comfortable waiting area just inside the front door. Our table was ready right on time. I'm in a power chair and am happy to report handicap parking at the paid lot and I was able to easily navigate rite up to the table without incident. The staff were professional and attentive. The fine dining atmosphere matches their demeanor and excellent service. Our waiter was very knowledgeable about the food and beverage choices. The wine list is vast and full of all stars and old favorites. The food and service from the kitchen was impeccable. At the waiters behest I ordered the lamb and was not disappointed in any way. The lamb was tender, flavorful, and cooked to perfection. Sarah's salmon was seasoned and cooked perfectly. The proteins are roasted over a wood fired hearth/grill just behind the front entry counter. The dishes are pricey but are so because you are getting the very best ingredients prepared in ways that'll blow your mind. The lamb chops were tender and perfectly crispy at the same time. They were served on a bed of the best risotto ever. The three cheese crepe with flambéed cherries on top was transcendent. The salads that the waiter recommended had sliced fruit and baked Brie cheese with a dressing that tied it all together beautifully. If it seems like I'm gushing the reason is clear. This place is an awesome place to enjoy a special meal. Cheers

I wish I had it handy today, so that I could add words of accolade for this fine establishment. First time visit for me; was invited to a birthday dinner gathering. This is higher end dining in Albuquerque. From the street, looks understated, but once inside, a quiet elegance. Fantastic staff, very accomodating and friendly, and service through the meal and desert was a wonderful "invisible but you know they are there" approach. We were a party of six, I had a rib eye that was sumptuous and perfectly cooked. I learned about a dish that a king preferred, Henry the IV; artichoke on a steak. Lamb chops looked perfect. Another big plus: the tables are partitioned so that you have a sense of quiet privacy. And the prices? Very reasonable, in fact considering the quality of the food I would say prices are low. No doubt this is one of ABQ's top ten restaurants.

No greeting so I walk up to the host. He says I don't have it right now. And I said all night and he said I don't have it. I honestly feel like for 1 person and when they close at 10 to refuse service was purely racial. It's 7:44pm. As a black woman it's disheartening to be refused service. He could have gave me a time frame but to just shut me down is as if he were saying. You are not welcomed. He was friendly to the white people but since I'm not white I guess I don't get the same treatment. all I wanted was a good meal, but oh well.

Beef short ribs were top and really amazing; well marinated, lean. Crab cakes were great quality. Fish barramundi was tasty however not worth $50. Sides of Risotto and vegetables (asparagus and carrots) were too oily and buttery that they were not enjoyable. You can even see from the pic how "shiny" everything was and not surprising that we all had diarrhea all morning next day. Service is very good though the host could be more welcoming and hospitable (for a supposedly fancy restaurant).

I don't know how many days I called trying to get through. Tonight I called 60 times and the phone was always busy. When I did get through the person I spoke said they don't have enough people to answer the phone and run a restaurant at the same time. How rude was that!!! I also tried previous days and no one answers their phones. They seriously need to have more than one phone line. Horrible!!! Don't they believe in call waiting???
