Aurora Capri Reviews
Best food on Capri
Consistently the best food on the island. However in July and most of August you need to be prepared to wait for your table. Try not eating inside bc it is cramped and very noisy but the outside tables are very pleasant. Pizza is a thin crust and really good, carpaccio and their tuna tartare are outstanding. A Capri experience but can be frustrating in season when the wait can be long, Very professional waiters who work non stop to make your meal memorable. Enjoy !
Bad experience
Arrived and the place was very crowded. The service was terrible. The servers acted like if they were doing you a favor for eating there. The food was bland and cold. Not coming back.

I don't get the negative reviews, I have a totally different experience than most online reviews. I've been to Aurora several times over the years and I love it. The staff is really friendly, the food is good and priced similarly as other places in Capri. I highly recommend their fish carpaccio and any of their signature pizza's. However, I've had their veal with truffles and that was pretty good too. Their wine list contains a lot of hidden gems next to the classics. I will defo go again on my next Capri trip.
A wonderful end to a quick work visit to Capri
Aurora was recommended by a friend and we weren’t disappointed . The restaurant wasn’t full when we arrived so we were give a lovely 4 place table at the back of the the restaurant overlooking a lime and a pomegranate tree Our drinks and a lovely bread basket were delivered promptly and then our choices of food . We have recently eaten in 1 an 3 Michelin star restaurants around the world and Aurora does not have to stand back for them . The oysters were very large , meaty and tasty as was the pea , bacon and chilli soup( the chilli is surprising as it is pieces of chilli in the soup not the spice added to the liquid ) - really yummy ! Main course were grilled sea bass with spinach and 3 ways fried shrimp with proper mashed potato - delicious dessert was my favourite being almond with almond ice cream and a meringue brûlée 😁 whilst my husband had a very good looking crème brûlée. We had a lovely soft wine off an extensive wine list and ended the meal with espresso and fresh mint tea. Our waiter, Christian, was efficient , very friendly and made our meal feel special .- thank you Christian and all the staff who prepared our last meal in Capri before heading home
Pasta and Caviar!
Exceptional dinner which lived up to the hype. Go later and ask for a table in the back or outside. Loved the pasta and caviar!!
Save Yourself the Regret — Skip Aurora
Do NOT waste a dinner in Capri on AURORA. This was, without question, the worst meal we had in Capri. The service was terrible, the food was inedible, and the entire experience was awful from the start. First of all, when you arrive, they tell you to “go look for the hostess outside” — no check-in, no organization. You’re left standing on the street with a crowd of frustrated people, all waiting to be called like it’s a deli line. We waited 25 minutes, and the scene was chaotic and embarrassing. For the people dining outside, it must be incredibly distracting to have a swarm of annoyed guests hovering just feet from their tables. Once we were finally seated, things didn’t improve. The pasta was so undercooked it was actually hard — not “al dente,” just lazy. The pizza? We ordered two kinds — both soggy, bland, and honestly disgraceful for a restaurant in Italy. Yes, the crowd is beautiful and the scene feels buzzy, but none of that makes up for how bad the food is. This restaurant is surviving on its reputation and clientele, not because it deserves it. With so many exceptional places to eat in Capri, there’s absolutely no reason to end up here. Don’t let the name fool you — this place is not worth your time or money !!!
Poor service, poor pizza, rip off prices. Avoid this place whenever you can. We ordered pizza which looked like frozen microwave stuff 30€ each, wine was ok. 128€. Total scam.
Average food with terrible service
Very average food but with terrible service. Pizzas were ok but where we had a lot better in Italy and specifically Sorrento. “Chicken in lemon sauce” was tasty but luke warm by the time it arrived. Service on all counts was terrible - my wife’s main course arrived just before we had all finished ours and that was after chasing 4 times. When it did come there was no apology or recognition for how late it was and then it was barely warm. Lead Waiters including what appeared to be the head waiter /Maitre de were abrupt, uninterested and rushed us to take the order only for the speed of order taking not to match the speed of their service. We had to ask 5 times for the bill and it still didn’t arrive so I went to the desk to ask (again) to pay. Generally staff acted like they were doing you a favour to have you there. A shame but a lot better options available.
Disappointment
We were extremely disappointed with our experience at this restaurant. I ordered the lobster pasta, which was by far the worst I’ve ever had – the lobster was tough and rubbery, and the pasta was severely undercooked and hard. The staff was unpleasant and uninterested. Despite having a reservation, we were seated right next to the bathroom – completely disrespectful. The prices are outrageously high for such low-quality food. The only decent thing we had was the Caesar salad – everything else was terrible. I would not return and definitely do not recommend it.
Mia needs to focus on her craft v/s photos with celebrities.
And if you are a celebrity and know your food, this is not the place to go. Mediocre at best!
This restaurant has good service and good eats and is one
This restaurant has good service and good eats and is one of hot spots in Capri, but it's pricey like everything in Capri. I ate there twice because my friends invited me but I think they could use little more food on their plates. I do recommend
We had the tuna tartare to start, 2 glasses of house white
We had the tuna tartare to start, 2 glasses of house white wine . Then onto sea bass , gnocchis and pasta with tuna. All very good . Tuna in the pasta was a tad over cooked . The Seabass was amazing !! Gnocchis in pesto was also delicious as was the tuna tartar .. the service was first rate, quick and on time. The ambiance was nice as well sat outside and we'd not rushed or bothered ..
I saw this place heavily advertised on social media and I
I saw this place heavily advertised on social media and I fell into the trap. The food was really just OK. The prices were very expensive, and there was a $50 cover charge for us to have lunch there which we were not aware of until we received the bill at the end of the meal. I ordered the tuna tartare with pistachio it was flavorful, but again nothing special and my husband ordered a pizza with prosciutto on top. I would say save your money and go somewhere else.
TERRIBLE If you experience only one meal in Capri I can
TERRIBLE If you experience only one meal in Capri I can see how you might give this place a pass. On the other hand, we stayed in Capri for 15 days so I'm rating this restaurant based on the competition in the area. We were really looking forward to eating here, especially with all the celebrity hype on Instagram but here is a recent revelation & pro tip: celebrities eat at every restaurant in Capri, only a few of the businesses actually take photos of the celebrities and plaster them on their walls and social media. For Capri standards, that's actually as tacky as it gets - and that pretty much sums up the experience here. The pasty little hostess who hates her job seems to be famous for her attitude - yeah she sucks. She set our night off on the wrong foot. And while the waiter was a great kid, the food was absolutely pathetic. The pizza that they are famous for is basically a warm saltine cracker with pizza toppings for 50 euros. Their stuffed shells, also 50 euros are basically 3 small, dried out pasta tubes filled with ground beef which do nothing to even stave off your appetite. Man, I don't even remember what else we ate because we were in a hurry to get out of this place. Of the 20+ restaurants we visited on Capri this was the only one where I actually stood up to rush my check. We left hungry but didn't care, I was tired of ordering these over priced options only to find both myself and my wife unsatisfied. Also, the restaurant is basically one hallway and an inundated outdoor patio, so does not offer much in the way of privacy. Be prepared to be bumped around by unwelcoming staff delivering food to tables with frowns on their faces. If you find someone smiling in this place please post the photo, maybe they will print it out and add it to their wall.
An Memorable Meal
This place best is not great for not large groups as it gets quite crowded and is small. The atmosphere is full of life, with fun loud singalong music played periodically. I read the reviews beforehand and notice some bad comments about the staff’s attitude. That was not our experience. For all the hustle and bustle these servers do, I thought they did it well…this is a small place, very very popular so patrons must be patient. The dishes I experienced were delicious!!! Pea soup (FAB), oysters, caviar, steak (cooked to perfection and flavorful). I can offer that on the night we went the rolls were like hockey pucks, cod a bit fishy and to our pizza connoisseurs of the group felt It was ok…a bit like a soggy cracker but my hubby still at the entire thing! Anyway, it isn’t a bargain but surely a memorable meal and lots of fun!! Godere!
Walk On By!!
Rudest reception ever, we literally were looked up and down, was with a friend and we were dressed very nicely btw, We were asked which hotel we were from, btw a 5 star one, and then escorted to an inside dark corner. We elected to leave, and after chatting with other hotel guests, this seems to be the sad case of Aurora, attitude galore. No thanks! We found a lovely , authentic multi generational family run place just down the street and i was delicious!
Hungry at Aurora restaurant with a horrible waiter
Horrible and very late service , very arrogant male servant at our Table. He ( Antonio ) unfortunately should not be working at this restaurant with his attitude towards tourists. All he needs a little Smile on his face and listen to the food order he is given. Thanks to the younger ladies who tried to compensate on Antonio's mishandling and arrogancy . Choose anywhere else to save your Capri dinner experience.
Choose elsewhere
Quite possibly the least tasty food, rudest service and overall disappointing experience. Save yourself the disappointment and choose another place
For good service and food, do not go here.
The food is not very good, the location is not special, the service and attitude of the staff at all levels is not good. Not an enjoyable experience.
Best dinner in Capri
Great staff. Amazing food. Dom Perignon bar. Let the staff suggest the best plates. Star studded guest list. Great ambience for special occasions, they put loud music and incite people to party ( restaurant inside). Book in advance, quite impossible to find place last minute. Best place to sit is outside. People watching is amazing.
Very disappointed
Abominable service, rude waiters and the food is not to the expectation. Definitely would recommend somebody to avoid it.
Town is completely dead.
Place has always been one of my favorites but it has been completely dead. No one here. The hotel rates have gone up so much in Capri that it appears people at the top end have had enough and stopped coming. Every place we have gone in town has said things are dead. No high end tourists.
Good not great.
I thought the food was very good, but compared to some other places it was super cramped. Most people are going here b/c Hollywood people post about this establishment. It's over priced for what you get, better options in capri for the money and experience.
A MUST IN CAPRI
SO GOOD! I had the truffle pasta and my mother had the filet. It was absolutely our best meal in Capri. Mia was so kind, and even took our order. We will be back!
Place to go for fine dinning
Located between the small streets of capri a very good place for fine dinning frequented by lots of movie stars food was awesome must try when ur in capri
Just bad
An overpriced.. mediocre tourist trap .. full of loud brash Americans with no taste or decorum Service was rushed and abrupt and the food was just … ok
Overpriced and quite tasteless
I’m more than happy to pay 130 euro for dinner done it all over the world but the arrogance of staff here and the quality of food really did not live up to the height of their inflated egos.. Average pasta, average garden salad, honestly the free bread was the best part of the dinner… I suggest this establishment spend less time smiling to the smell of their own excrement and go out elsewhere in the world to level up their “fine dining experience”
Fire your hostess
They should fire the hostess - such a bad welcome experience to something that is supposed to be an icon of hospitality in Capri. Food is excellent though, but as experience you can definitely skip it.
This place had very bad and overpriced pizza, cramped
This place had very bad and overpriced pizza, cramped tables, slow service. We ended up having to get up to pay after waiting 20 minutes after asking.
WONDERFUL RESTAURANT IN CAPRI!
While staying in Capri we came here for dinner. We found all the food delicious including the pastas, pizzas and salads. The staff was attentive. It is a very busy restaurant so be sure to make reservations in advance. We enjoyed the food and atmosphere here so much we ate there twice.
Disappointed…
Wait staff was rude and disrespectful. Couldn’t get their attention for service. Most disappointed in Mia… pictures all over of her with famous patrons but she didn’t ever stop by tables last night to say hi or to ask about our meal. Pretty sure her ristorante is supported by the everyday people who want to enjoy a good meal…
Rudest Staff Ever! Mediocre, overpriced food.
TA keeps censoring my review for unknown reasons. So I will try one last time: If you want to be treated like a second class citizen while be served mediocre food at inflated prices, then this is your place. Otherwise, do yourself a favor and read the reviews. They are spot on.
Horrible, rude staff and a complete rip off.. Avoid!
One of the worst experiences I’ve ever had in a restaurant. Horribly arrogant and rude waiters, completely ignored my request for oil, slapped a 15% service charge on as well! A lunch of one bowl of pasta, a cannelloni, a glass of wine and a beer came to over £120! We saw two sets of people sit down, look at the prices on the menu and walk off. The waiters just arrogantly stood around laughing at them. Food was actually alright but completely let down by the rudeness of all of the waiting staff. Went to a Michelin star restaurant the night before where we were treated excellently and it was 100 times more value than this place. There’s only so far good food can take you ‘amici’. Maybe be nicer to your customers in future?
Do yourself a favor and read all the other reviews on here
Do yourself a favor and read all the other reviews on here before ruining your afternoon/evening at this place. The truffle pasta was really good, but unfortunately everything else was terrible including the entire staff and owner. The sycophant, slobbering celebrity stalker owner needs to get her head out of her ass and focus on providing better service and attitude at this abysmal restaurant.

Let's say Peter has a great morning and decides to take his three friends to Aurora Capri at 6 PM the same day.
He checks the restaurant's website and sees that no reservations are available. He then looks at the Aurora Capri page on AppointmentTrader, but finds that there are no user postings either.
That's where the community-driven bid process comes in.
Peter can place a bid on AppointmentTrader, which serves as a reward for any community member who chooses to work on securing the reservation. AT then notifies experienced users who may be able to help.

* At this stage, the reservation does not exist yet.
2.) A Community User Picks Up the Bid
* BraveCloth47, an experienced AT user, has a strong track record of successfully securing reservations and low refund requests, they receive a notification about Peter's bid.
* BraveCloth47 picks up the bid, meaning they will now work on securing the reservation.
* Peter can now talk to BraveCloth47 for any questions Peter may have as BraveCloth47 user fills the bid.
3.) Finding the Reservation
* BraveCloth47 now uses their connections at Aurora Capri to secure the table.
