Plenty of room to improve
Service was good however the food tasted quite below average. As a vegetarian, the choices are quite narrow. It seemed a bit overhyped

Came with a friend. The seating areas are pretty tight/small. But nice venue in general. Clean with nice decor. Good food. We had ordered the chicken tikka and Chana dish with naan. The chicken is really nice. The Chana was okay (I like it a little more spicy, but good still). Portion size and price is reasonable. Service is friendly and prompt.

Went there with friends, found this place on internet. We liked the atmosphere and the service. dishes were somewhat okay. You can try this for once. Try their chicken dishes, they are liked.

Fantastic Indian restaurant. Great service and authentic cuisine. Nice decor, very personable server and truly wonderful food.

Fantastic authentic Indian food- server was so gracious. Saag paneer was best we’ve ever had. Fish Konkani was very good. Remarkable raita- thick and creamy. First roti I’ve had that was actually whole wheat.
Be the first to ReplyNice little eatery !!
Didn't know that this was a Michelin star restaurant, not that it mattered much. Was looking for some Indian food nearby as I was staying in Doubletree nearby. Went in 10 minutes after it opened so quite empty. Ordered a samosa as a starter and liked it as it was a normal Indian samosa but a little too much peas. Ordered a curry and rice, should have ordered the daal which I forgot and then proceeded to eat the whole rice with the dry curry. For desert tried the kheer and finished up with a glass of tea. The prices weren't exorbitant, the servers were nice and looked after me fine. Would have wanted to try some more, but I had a train to catch so paid and ran to catch my train.

This felt like a hipster joint (DTLA venue). Bad lighting (to hide the inflated prices??). Staff are friendly but food just doesn’t match it. Not much choice for vegetarians. Samosa overpriced for one. Doesn’t serve poppadoms - highly unusual for an “Indian” Restaurant. Chickpea curry - find the chickpeas, only does 1 type of naan! No traditional desserts - biscuits sandwiching some ice cream is not a dessert. Can’t say I would recommend this to any friends.

We just fancied Indian food and this was close to our hotel, what a lucky coincidence. A very unassuming simple restaurant, friendly enthusiastic staff and amazing food. We shared the Dahi Poori to start which were amazing and then we had Chicken Tikka Poutine and the beef short rib. The food was delicious the staff friendly and great value. Definitely worth a visit
Be the first to ReplyTerrible Food!
Horrible!. Please do me a favor and DO NOT listen to all the positive reviews. We were in DTLA on Sept 4, 2022 and decided to try this place based on so many good reviews. We arrived around 7:30 pm after making a reservation. It was insanely hot inside (90 degrees F) as the A/C unit was not working. We decided to eat despite the sweltering temps inside. We ordered the South Indian Fish Konkani which was terrible (smelly). The Badmaash Broccolini was just a bunch of broccoli with no taste. The Badass Chicken Tikka was just mediocre. What a waste of hard earned money. I would not eat there if they offered me a free meal.
Be the first to ReplyStay away from this over priced restaurant
Overpriced, overpriced, overpriced! Really bad Indian food and was really let down considering all the hype this place has. I had a butter chicken samosa and the pastry burnt . The filling of the samosa was good though but $4 for 1 samosa is ridiculous. I had the "Indian sausage" aka sheek kebab. Slightly undercooked and didn't get the flavours right at all. The zest taste was overpowering and lacked spice. It cost around $17 and I wouldn't even pay $2 for it. Then we had chicken Tikka masala for mains, this curry should rebranded as a soup as it was so watery. There was only 4 chicken pieces, all of which were very fatty and stringy. Absolutely pathetic is this best way to describe that curry. This curry is nowhere near worth the $19 mark. Pathetic, don't waste your good earned money on this place. It's a real let down.

The name appealed to me and sounded interesting hence we decided to have a family lunch there but think it was a big mistake.
Food was really average and breads(naan) ordered were served burnt. We requested the charge to be taken off for Naan and restaurant honored it. Service was good but food wasn't
The location is poor, street parking is very hard to find and took me 45 mins to find a spot to park. Street is filthy and the restaurant access is difficult as there is some street construction going on. Also, there was some event in a cafe ahead of this restaurant due to which thousands of people were lined up on the road making it almost impossible to reach the restaurant.
Small plates, complex flavors
Cozy spot for subtle twists on Indian favorites.
Plates are small, and everything is family style, so come with a small group for a culinary menagerie.
Badmaash DTLA
Loved the space and the food and the waitress, Shannon. Standouts were the poutine and the samosas. After the spicy meal, little ice cream sandwiches were a perfect dessert.

Amazing food and great atmosphere. Had to wait for 40minutes as it was fully booked all evening but definitely worth the wait for a walk in seat if there are no reservations available. Service was friendly and gave great recommendations.
Be the first to ReplyTandoori fries are the best!
We went to the Fairfax location, which was delightful with colorful pink and blue walls. Very casual. The tandoori fries were well-made and addicting. Other favorites were the papdi chaat and chicken tikka samosa. AVOID the saag paneer, which did not taste good and was devoid of cream. Service was excellent.

My daughter and I went here while we were on vacation in LA. The staff was friendly, helpful, and fun.
we ordered several dishes at the recommendation of our waiter. And he was absolutely on the money. Our food was fantastic.
Highly recommend this place it was great!
Best Indian food in LA
Good service. Food is so tasteful with different spices and flavorings. Got the chicken Tikka and it was fantastic. Asked for yogurt sauce which was good and server also brought mint sauce that was even better. I have tried Indian food around the South Bay, but not satisfied. I have had good Indian food in London and Qatar and this place was just a s good. This was the best Indian food in La!
Be the first to ReplySpicy...quirky...Delightful!
I had heard much about this Fusion/Indian restaurant for some time, so one Sunday last month made a res and went for an early dinner. We were seated immediately, but it looks like ressies are a good idea here because it got busy very quickly and even with ressies we saw people had to wait.
The place is small and you'd better like barstools because there's no lounging around at tables for hours at this joint. The service was quick, efficient, and friendly. The food was amazing...zing...zing. I have never seen pork belly in India but this was delectable; and get the masala fries even if you're on a diet. The short rib looked fabulous and I have to try the Goan curry; there was so much good looking food all around us I could have stayed for days. The beers were local and the wine list well matched.
Do yourself a favor and skip dessert because then you will have room for an extra entree.
Almost but not quite
This is a small place with not a lot of covers but at least they dont cram in tables. We went early evening and there were walk in tables available. Servers were cheerful but not attentive. Requests for some simple things (more water) required three follow ups. Music was pretty terrible and loud enough to not be able to ignore.
Probably the first Indian restaurant I've ever been in with no Indian staff and no Indian customers. For me, that not a great sign - but it isn't traditional food so that might explain it.
Food came quickly and was OK. The fusion approach here has real potential and was almost excellent but didnt really deliver - a more creative chef could take this philosophy and really nail it.
I'd come back for a quick lunch but its not a place I'd tell all my friends to go to - not yet anyway. Its a bit expensive for what you get and parking is only easy in the pricey lots nearby, street parking is scarce.
