Fine Dining how it should be! Hard to find, though is the hidden gem in Surrey Quays.Entrée was a Pan Seared Scallop, Chick Pea, Cinta Sense Lardo, Sea Herbs - best scallops I think I've ever had! And the presentation was fanatics. It's amazing how Bella Cosa was able to fuse into some brilliant insightful ingredients to create an extraordinary dish! I was sold on this dish alone, though this was only the first. Candy was up next - well at least that's how the pasta was shaped! On the menu they call it "Smoked Ricotta 'Caramelle' Candy Shape Pasta, Lamb Ragout, Broad Beans, Pecorino Romano, Mint". And this is exactly how my taste buds reacted - a kid running around excitedly in a candy store. Not only was this dish visually appealing, the soft ricotta combined with the snappy texture of the broad beans umbrellaed with the tangy mint is pure genius insightfulness of the chief! Red Mullet in Kataifi, Broccoli Puree Turnip, Lemon was the main dish. This seemed to be a rather experimental dish. Yes, I can see the logic, yes, I appreciate an innovative approach in food creation, though I was anticipating a little bit more when I ordered it. I adore broccoli, actually I'll eat them raw, cooked, pureed or steamed, though somehow, not even the lemon brought them to life in this dish. So, as the Estonians would say about Lemons: "Sid, run from this dish".A sugar explosion was created by the desserts - White Chocolate, Strawberry, Green Tea (if you haven't already checked out the photos this is the time to) - and this is exactly what desserts should do! What a fabulous combination - White Chocolate because who doesn't love chocolate? And a good source of sugar (59% to be exact, more than a Mars Bar!), strawberries to provide a freshness swing and then, obviously, the passive caffeine kick, though just enough to get you home - though not a minute more. The presentation, as all the dishes, was a piece of art.I would recommend Bella Cosa for numerous occasions: dates, business meetings and even a good group of friends that want to have a fabulous experience.
