Impeccable service , great selections of seafood and shellfish to choose from. Full bar Full of wine, champagne & vodka. Off regent street in a quiet alley. Enjoy !
Be the first to ReplyNice, fresh seafood.
The platter had a nice mix of different shellfish, but I would say overall the meal was pricey considering you can find pretty cheap, high quality seafood elsewhere around London. The desserts were the star of the show. Highly recommend the choux, it was so light and airy, paired perfectly with the crunch of the praline.
Be the first to ReplyThe Native oysters were outstanding albeit pricey.
And, best 'dressed crab I have ever tasted

The host and waitstaff were impeccable and extremely knowledgeable. Delicious oysters and champagne. Also had a crab dish which was very good. Finished with a watermelon and ginger dessert, simple yet very tasty. Highly recommend this place.

I ate here for lunch recently and was excited to try after reading reviews. I went for lunch and I was disappointed with the service which wasn't very friendly and I didn't feel welcomed. Maybe the staff was having a challenging day. The food didn't seem very flavorful or fresh. I was hungry and kept hoping that the next bite would taste better. It wasn't bad but not what I was anticipating for a venue that charged a lot. The bread was probably the best part of my meal and a beverage. Maybe they just had an off day but I won't come back.

Bentley's is AMAZING! Loved our waiter and our service - our food was so satisfying and it came out quickly. We ordered the fish and chips and lobster spaghetti and they were delicious. The sauce with the fish and chips is to die for and the fish itself is so crisp and tasty. The lobster spaghetti was lovely - the lobster was fresh and tasted perfect. Great white wine and martinis! Also got the oysters and took our waiters suggestion on which ones to get and they were SO good - we love oysters and these were some of the better ones we have had. Would recommend to anyone
Be the first to ReplyAmazing ambiance, food and service.
Darius and the team running the Oyster Bar counter made the visit even more fun and exciting.
Be the first to ReplyThe food was delicious and the wine was fantastic.
The restaurant inside is just beautiful. Unfortunately the staff must have had an off night. We had 3 different people wait on us. We waited a while for someone to take our drink order. Many other tables had sat down after us and had already ordered. Waters were not refilled. No one asked if we wanted another drink until we asked for one. The food was so good. We started with oysters. They were amazing. I also had a cauliflower soup with scallops and caviar. I couldn't eat it fast enough! For my main, I had half a lobster and I swear it was one of the best I've ever had. My boyfriend had monk fish which he said was great. We sat upstairs so next time we go back I want to try to sit at the bar. But we'll certainly go back.

I wasn't going to leave a review but I need to save my fellow Americans from wasting money here. The food was the blandest I've ever tried in my life, overpriced ($100+ for the cheapest main courses and oysters) and although the service was nice, I ended up waiting more than an hour for food. If the food was good it would be alright, but an hour for food that I only tried eating for 10 minutes because it was so bad. 1 star for the nice staff but otherwise don't waste your time or money.

Shared oysters , turbot special with fennel in bouillabaisse sauce. ย Fantastic, highly recommend this place. ย Nice ambiance too on a Wednesday night. ย Busy but not overly crowded
Be the first to ReplyIt's a long story.
..On Monday March 2, 2020 I went into Bentley's at about 3:00 pm for oysters. The staff will surely remember - Jim, an elderly man from Scotland originally, was there celebrating his birthday (180 years old by his own admission) with his brother from Edinburgh. There was an American couple there as well from Detroit. Just us 5 customers sitting at the L shaped bar. The waiter took my order, and I said in addition to the Bloody Mary cocktail and 6 oysters I was having, I MIGHT have lobster bisque afterwards.Jim was into his cups. He and his brother had already consumed 3 dozen oysters (they proclaimed), and I can only assume several bottles of wine. I saw them finish one bottle and have another and the oysters were previously consumed. Jim and his brother were initially speaking to each other, and Jim was loud. Very loud.As my oysters arrived, Jim on my right, sitting on the short arm of the 'L', turned his attention to the couple to my left about seats 5 and 6 of the long arm of the 'L'. Jim proceeded to use his rugby pitch voice at a volume beyond 10 out of 10. He was bombastic to say the least - he literally was screaming and spitting - I think he thought he was erudite, charming, witty and humourous. I was not engaged in their conversation about Harvard, Michigan, football, rugby, soccer, golf, business, art (the brother's profession - a professor as I recall), the economy, nor eventually Trump. As soon as I finished my 6 oysters, I asked for the bill.I was told "No, your lobster bisque is coming." I should have refused as I hadn't ordered it. But I didn't want to make a fuss in a 'high end' establishment. Nor did I want to ruin Jim's birthday by calling him on his behaviour. I have been a high end waiter - I know where the responsibility for customer behaviour lies.I ate the very hot soup as quickly as I was able. I again asked for the check. I paid the very pricey bill. [18 pounds for 6 oysters. 13 pounds for soup. The whole bill came to 70 pounds. I tipped 10 pounds. Not sure how it came to 70 pounds, although I guess I paid for bread, water and a pricey cocktail?]I couldn't wait to get out of there, I literally was shaking. It was like I was screamed at by a head master for 45 minutes. As soon as I was outside, the Maitre'D, or whatever he was (manager? - the guy in the suit) ran up to me and apologized. I barely responded. I had to get away from there. It was obvious to him, and to everyone but Jim, that Jim was out of control. It was the establishment's responsibility to keep him in check or to find a way to accommodate me.I should be reimbursed and compensated for that ordeal.

We are from the UK living in the USA for the last 13 years and have made a point of visiting Bentley's and recommending it to our friends and family who visit London. Always given 5 stars prior This time left with a bad taste. Not from the food which was the usual high standard We reserved months ago and replied to the more recent ย open table reminder asking if we were for sure still coming to our reservation and we confirmed again. We arrived on time for our 8 pm reservation and were told that there was not a table. We were then asked if we would get a drink in the bar while we waited Almost 40 minutes later we were seated. The place was half empty when we sat .Food was good .. when it came to the bill I was disappointed to see a bunch of hidden charges like a dodgy restaurant in the costas, very "small time" which as others have mentioned included cover charges and a 13.5 percent tip already added even though we were just a party of 4 I didn't say anything because I thought that they had done the right thing and comp'd the round of drinks while we waited for the very late table As we were leaving waiting at the unattended coat check my wife eventually got our coats back herself ย and then the waiter came running out to meet us at the exit half way out the door with a second bill for 35 pounds for the round of drinks that" we forgot to add on"I explained why we thought they had not been charged and we were just told sorry and we paid the second billHonestly we will think long and hard next time we are in London If you are going to charge fess for various services then the experience needs to be worthy. Reminded me of the times gone by when you would head out to the sun in various new resorts in developing countries around Europe and find that they charged you for bread and water !
Be the first to ReplyDropped in for a meal before a show.
The Haddock was delicious as was the Creme Brule. Washed down with a glass of champagne followed by some Sancere. The wine list is very good and not over priced with a selection to suit all budgets ..I deduct a star for the cover charge which frankly is nonsense it should be absorbed or slightly up the price.
Be the first to ReplySenan was more than accommodating.
..what a true Irish gentleman barkeep. ย We stumbled upon this place to get out of the rain. Had Irish coffee, redbreast whiskey, beer. ย He insisted to call us a cab as we left. A must stop!

Went to Bentley's in London and were delighted with everything. The atmosphere was calm and peaceful, the service was great and the food was superb. To start the night off we could not find it, we were walking, and when I called the restaurant they connected me to Paddy and he asked what we were near, told us to stay there and walked to direct us!! Really never had this happened before. After that as stated we were delighted with everything. One of the best dinners we had in London.
