Beautiful views
Birgu offers beautiful routes both internally with its parallel and curiously wavy streets and on the perimeter road. It offers great views of Valletta.

One of 3 fabulous cities! We found ourselves preparing for the feast of the Immaculate Conception which surprised us with its beauty! And on the evening of December 8th from 6.30pm the procession began with a lot of participation! Beautiful city and very kind people!

If you take the Ferry from Valletta to Vittoriasa you will pass the long impressive waterfront full of moored yachts. The biggest ones are of course at the front. It goes without saying that strolling is a common activity here. When you sail back, we imagine ourselves on the Grand Canal, and the buildings on the Waterfront are also impressive.

Wonderful views await the visitor. Ships and yachts as far as the eye can see. Wonderful for taking photos!

We took a long walk along the port and the narrow streets of Birgu in the late afternoon and evening, between dinner. A first walkway along the port, where a series of very luxurious yachts are moored, we then went beyond Fort S.Angelo, through a narrow passage that led us right in front of the upper Barakka Gardens and we then went up through the narrow streets of the center of the town, up to the scenic entrance door. Very scenic walk, recommended.

It's a lovely area to walk around with so much to see. Super yachts and other boats in the harbour, nice restaurants with tables spilling out onto the pavements over looking Senglea - and more. Lovely as we were staying just up the road!

When you are walking in Birgu - one of the areas of interest is the waterfront. It is a nice promenade - where you can find terraces , bars, restaurants but also some of the attractions from Birgu, the St. Lawrence church, the Maritime museum - closed when we were visiting - Fort San Angelo towards the Grand Harbor ... So if you are looking for a place to stroll in Birgu - this can be one of those place where you can do it . Also from the waterfront you can take the water-taxi to Valletta or a trip to see the Grand Harbor and the 3 Cities. Definitely a place to check out when you are in Birgu

We arrived by boat from Valletta and were not disappointed. A beautiful town (city?) and full of lovely boats in the harbour.
Be the first to ReplyBeautiful town ☀️
What a lovely place to visit, the waterfront is beautiful and so is the whole town. There are some lovely cobble stone streets, some wonderful monuments and nice churches. Out tour guide was very knowledgeable and gave us a real onsite to the history of this beautiful town. I would recommend a visit, as there is something for all.

Lovely area facing Valletta, reached either by ferry or bus. Beautiful waterside walk, expensive flashy yachts, eating places, old church and historical buildings. You can continue walking to Senglea by footbridge, another historical part.
Be the first to ReplyGreat and picture perfect
Take a gondola from Valetta and have a wander around. Enough to see and to do. Most building seem to be occupied and used for housing.
Be the first to ReplyLovely for a walk
Rather nice to look at! Perfect for a walk! You'll get to see lots of huge, expensive boats and yachts while also seeing nice, old buildings.

Visually striking with all the yachts moored in the harbour, and the light relfecting off the buildings from adjoining Isla. A very relaxing place to stroll along on your way to Fort St Angelo.
