Outdoor ambience: 4 stars; Food - 4.
5 stars; Service: 3 stars; Consistent lying, rudeness and incorrect website: zero stars. On the website, happy hour is listed as 4:00-6:30 PM. When I called, the manager assured me that I could order from the HH menu from the outdoor dining. So I booked a table for 5:45 pm. Upon arrival I was icily told: happy hour ends at 6 and can ONLY be ordered from the bar. When I brought up the website - it was laughed off "oh yes, we are in the process of changing it" and as for the manager, " You didn't get the person's name, that's a shame!" I was then told that if I ordered immediately, I could get one round of food from the HH menu. That was 2 months ago - GUESS WHAT? the website is still "in the process" of being corrected. The rudeness and misinformation saddened me because Bistrot Leo has a lot going for it. One of the nicest outdoor spaces in Soho for one. A very nice happy hour menu with great $1.50 oysters. And some flavorful if not mind-blowing food. Both the steak frite and the roasted chicken were easily splittable and perfectly cooked. The roasted chicken was incredibly juicy with a delightful side of sauteed vegtables. The pate app also satisfied. If only management could get their act together.
Be the first to ReplyI ordered three of my most favourite meals.
Escargot, French Onion soup and a baguette. While the baguette is pretty much impeccable, the same can't be said about the soup and the escargot. The escargots only tasted like onion and olive oil and the French Onion soup tasted like absolutely nothing. Plain, no flavour, not even the onion is flavourful. Never in my life I don't finish my soup... any kind of soup at all. But this one took the cake. While the service is rather good, definitely I won't be back. Not with such lack of quality.

TLDR: should have checked Yelp before going; don't wear shorts in the summer ---- Went to check out Bistrot Leo for restaurant week. Cute decor but lack of people at 7pm should have been a warning sign. Got multiple mosquito bites despite being indoors! Food: French onion soup- average, broth not super rich Fried chicken- huge order of chicken breast nuggets- crispy and not dry! Came with a tiny (ketchup container size!) of onion salad, and a very watered down honey sauce. Steak frites- steak looked like it was charred and rolled in charcoal (have never seen steak that black before, should have looked at Yelp photos before ordering). The exterior was very off-putting and destroyed the eating experience. Fries were good. Crème Brûlée- topped with fresh fruit, which is about all I can say about it. Chocolate Cremeux- very rich, maybe too rich. Service: Busser very efficient, server might be new- missed items we ordered, and do dn't ask what cook we wanted for the steaks
Be the first to ReplyI recent planned a bridal shower here for 16 guests.
While we booked the venue over a month in advance, it was utterly disappointing and frustrating that the outdoor seating with flowers that we had reserved did not look as pictured. We reconfirmed two days prior to arriving, picture with flowers vs lights and ceiling fan is a big difference considering the main reason we chose this venue was for the floral decor and location. Considering we expected the seating to be decorated as pictured, the bridal party didn't prepare any decorations since we already had a visual as to where and how we wanted things. We were really frustrated and while the event manager was not on site, she did try her best to help navigate and she wasn't aware the flowers were taken down the night before. The restaurant manager offered us to dine inside with a private closed off area and it did end up working out. To be fair, it all worked out at the end and the service was good. They did offer offer complimentary dessert and comped two bottles of champagne but it should've been communicated to us that the flowers would be taken off. The bridesmaids scrambled to run out to nearby floral shops to buy last minute flowers while the bride to be was arriving any minute. That level of anxiety could've been prevented considering we planned over a month in advance. The food was alright, the mussels were decent, steak was a bit dry but the fries that came with it were good. I might come back again but if I do book a large party again, I would definitely have to triple confirm.
Be the first to ReplyWonderful place and fantastic service.
The mussels were the best I've ever had (and I've been to France). The baguette and butter was delicious. Service and waiter in particular was unforgettable. Will be back next week if time allows.

Services were great. Loved our waiter but the food was very very very mid. I love French onion soups and theirs were a little bland. Salmon and steak was average. The brazino was probably the best main because of its crispness. Also ordered the mussels, escargot and oysters for apps and the mussels were the best thing on the table. The banana bread and creme brulee for dessert was also average. Though the banana bread has a nice crisp on the outside
Be the first to ReplySpotty service due to shift change I think.
but fabulous vibe. Cozy and pretty for a date night. ...Except I was at the bar solo lol after long work day. I walked up Broadway from Battery Park to Soho in search of a French restaurant for quintessential French style chicken after no lunch and toast for breakfast. Walked away from 3 other places - one took the chicken off menu, one had an annoying interim period between brunch and dinner with no food, last one was so packed with millennials trying to get in for the all day brunch at 4 pm. Bistrot Leo gave me chill resting spot, yum French onion soup, perfect French style chicken, and a glass of rose.
Be the first to ReplyVery good food AND vibe.
The chef even agrees to make an amazing steak tartare that was not in the menu! This is coming from a fairly picky guy who had his share of michellin rated french and non-french restaurants. Scotch a little on the pricy side- but these guys (waiter and chef) earned every penny. One of the very few instances where I dont get the lower-than-5 star reviews. Perhaps there was a recent change for the better?

Had reservations for Bistrot Leo on one of the coldest nights in NYC. Was regretting the decision to be out on Christmas but this beautifully decorated French restaurant definitely lived up to our expectations! To warm up we decided to start our meal with a French onion soup that felt like a warm hug and was divine. It was just what we needed with the 10 degree weather outside. For our entrees we went with the lobster Thermidor- definitely the best thing we ate that night! It was seasoned to perfection and delicious. We also ordered the steak frittes au poivre. The steak and fries were great but the poivre sauce was a bit underwhelming in my opinion. We had to end our meal with the creme brûlée. It was creamy and delicious and big enough for two to share. Overall, great service, food, and ambience and would definitely come back here.

5 stars. Decor is really nice, very sexy. Good for a date at the bar or tables up front. Food is just ok. The tuna tartar was disappointing. Quite odd. The branzino and burger were pretty good but nothing memorable.
Be the first to ReplyExcellent food, great service, beautiful ambiance.
Would recommend for anyone with a large group also.
Be the first to ReplyInstagrammable and nice decor plus outside seating.
I tried their brunch menu and food is just so so.
Be the first to ReplyCame here for a birthday, seated outdoor, service was bad.
They even charged me 20 for bringing in a birthday cake
Be the first to ReplyWe came here for a birthday celebration.
The place has great ambiance and our server was attentive. The hamburger was fine, nothing special. The duck frites were the highlight of the meal --cooked perfectly to a juicy medium rare with delicious crispy skin. For dessert we tried the floating island, creme brulee, and banana pain perdu. The floating island had interesting flavors, but lacked something more substantial for our tastes, so don't order unless you love meringue. The creme brûlée was a bit too sweet and not well brûléed as the crust was soggy and didn't "crack." The saving grace was the banana pan perdu which was a delight. The sides were all perfectly crisp while the inside was warm with great banana flavor, a great complement contrast to the vanilla ice cream. We were a bit disappointed that such a high class restaurant did not comp the birthday girl's dessert as most places do something for the occasion.

Looks nice, terrible food, badly mixed cocktail and non fresh food.Still cannot believe I did pay the check having in mind this was by far the worst experience, the waiter brought the food and when finally came back he was chomping.Absolutely mind blowing that this place exists and that was actually recommended.
Be the first to ReplyThis was the last night of this Pop up restaurant.
It was located a hotel on Tompson Street! During the day it's the Bistrot Leo, but for the month it was Osterria delle tre Panche. It was all about truffles! We had a reservation and were seated immediately. As soon as we were seated, our server asked us about drinks! The service was EXCELLENT! not quite sure what other helpers were talking about. We were served rather quickly for everything we ordered. In my eyes, a little too fast. I would have liked it to be spaced out. We had drinks, and started with the beef Carpaccio. It was really the best I ever had. It was nice and thick. It had a substantial amount of truffles on it too! Then we had the ravioli with the truffles. Then we shared the Veal Milanese, again with a very good amount of truffles. We had an order of bread. This is the 2nd place I have gone to, Italian, and they don't automatically serve you bread. You need to buy it. The only thing I could have passed on, was their famous cheese cake. I have Never had warm cheese cake. To me, it was more of like "flan" then cheesecake! I am glad we got to experience this pop up. A friend told me, knowing how we love truffles! And there was no shortage of truffles! Food, and service was excellent!!

I was so excited to try this place after seeing this restaurant pop up on my tiktok and I ignored all the warning signs on Yelp and I wish I didn't. First of all, we booked this restaurant 2 weeks ago and the first reservation we got was a Saturday night at 10pm. Luckily, we didn't have any issues getting seated like others described. We ordered:1) Tortelli Pecorino (ravioli): it was ok. It didn't taste very chewy or fresh and was very mediocre.2) Mozzarella in Carrozza: essentially an adult fried mozzarella stick. I think it could have been fried a bit more and once, it was just ok3) Pollo Al Tartufo : this dish was actually pretty good. The chicken was very moist and the dish was flavorful overall.4) Maccheroncetti red sauce: most disappointing of them all... I wouldn't be surprised if you found a bunch of Barilla rigatoni boxes in the kitchen. This pasta did NOT taste fresh and the sauce was less than mediocre.5) bread: it's an extra $3 and it was literally burntThe girls seated next to us were also disappointed (their bread was also burnt) and said they would not be returning. Although we didn't order the cheesecake, the girls did and they said it was the only redeeming dish on the menu.Lastly, the bathroom situation was chaotic. There's only one men's stall and men were literally ducking into the women's bathroom. What kind of restaurant that serves heavy and creamy dish only has one stall for such a crowded restaurant....Our bill came to $200 with 4 dishes, side of bread, and 1 glass of wine. This price tag was not worth it and I will certainly not be coming back nor recommending this place to anyone.

Food was extremely mediocre especially compared to the 'hype' this place has. Tuna tartar tastes days old, pasta is in a watery sauce, the 'truffle' tastes fake with barely even hints of flavor and not authentic. Extremely overpriced for a subpar restaurant, recommend elsewhere for not only authentic Italian food but decent food as well.Edit: this is for Osteria Delle Tre Panche

Went for the Osteria delle tre panche pop up and would not recommend. Terrible service. Had a 9:00 reservation, didn't get seated until 9:40. Didn't get water until 10:00. Brought the appetizer before we got our wine. Appetizer was feeezing cold. Pastas and veal were tasty but you could tell they are all pre-made and heated up. Also served with the exact same truffle sauce. They're just trying to get as many people in and out as possible while charging carbone prices. Would be surprised if there are repeat costumers. Don't waste your time unless you want a good insta pic or absolutely love truffle

Was excited to try the Osteria delle tre Panche pop up after a friend recommended. Unfortunately, we were sadly disappointed by not only the management but the food as well. We waited over 30 minutes to be seated although we had a reservation and it was clear the management staff was overwhelmed. We were excited to try the food we had heard such good things about but a few of the pasta dishes were cold when they arrived to the table and while the entire restaurant smelled like truffles, the flavor wasn't prominent in the truffle dishes we were most excited for. Definitely not worth the hype and for such expensive dishes, I would absolutely not recommend and will not be returning.

Waited 45 minuted to be seated even though we had a reservation and were there on time, there were ~10 other parties in the same situation. The restaurant manager told one of them "what do you expect? It's New York".We were then seated at a table for two with an extra chair even though we made a reservation for three, they then moved us to a table for three after we voiced our disappointment.Even though we heard great things about the food at the original place in Italy that popped up here for March, the food was terrible. I guess this place can't even execute simple recipes. The ravioli had the thickest wrap we ever experienced, more wrap than filling, I had $3 raviolis from the frozen food isle that were much better than this. The taste to price ratio did not make any sense.I understand why Bistrot Leo has such poor ratings, and this pop up initiative, while cool, did not change anything. This place just can't execute.
Be the first to ReplyCame here for the Bistrot Leo Presents Osteria delle Tre
Came here for the Bistrot Leo Presents Osteria delle Tre Panche event in March 2022. This was a takeover by an Italian restaurant and black truffles were heavily represented on the menu. The truffles were delicious but the dishes were a little plain and presented hastily (which, given the high price, was incongruous). The Bistrot itself is a hotel restaurant that is very large and very loud. I would only recommend this if you are in a lively / party mood. I must say desserts were absolutely delicious. Best cheesecake ever (note that it is warm) and top notch chocolate fondant served with crème anglaise.
Be the first to ReplyI'm reviewing the Osteria Delle Tre Panche pop up event.
This event showed up on Resy and the truffle immediately caught my eye, so I made a reservation. The space is pretty large, and I was seated at a 2 person table, that was a little less than a foot apart next to the table beside me. If there were people sitting there, I definitely would've heard their conversation. Truthfully, the ambiance was the only nice thing about this place. As for the food, I was so so underwhelmed. 1. ($29) Tortino Al Carciofi - This tasted like a pre-made, sitting under a heating lamp omlette, with truffle over it. It was so disappointing and salty.2. ($31) Mozzarella in Carrozza (not pictured) - Also so disappointing. Nothing special about this dish, just a chewy and soggy batter with that truffle to bump up the price tag. 3. ($44) Taglioni Al Tartufo - There were noodles and truffle. The texture of the pasta was odd, the sauce was salty as well. It's only redeeming part? The truffle lol.4. ($48) Tortelli Di Pecorino Di Fossa Al Tartufo - 4 pieces of mostly dough and a grainy textured filling. This is their homemade ravioli, but it was such a miss.5. ($65) Tagliata Al Tarfufo - It was just strip steak with truffle. Barely seasoned and chewy. This pop up event was just mediocre food with shaved truffle over it to bump its price tag. I guarantee you, that you can make better tasting dishes at home. Buy yourself some fresh truffle and save yourself the trip. The total came out to a hefty $295. I'm telling you, it was NOT WORTH IT.
Be the first to ReplyThis pop up of Osteria Delle Tre Panche is a repeat
This pop up of Osteria Delle Tre Panche is a repeat performance in New York City. The Osteria was in New York at the now defunct Chef's Club and made a profound impression on the foodie population of the Big Apple. The scene at Bistrot Leo in the 60 Thompson hotel was rousing on the Saturday night we dined, with great energy, but quiet enough for conversation. We chose to sit at the bar, and Fausto immediately made us feel welcome and appreciated. He also explained how the pop up works: Chefs and managers from the Osteria Delle Tre Panche, a renown restaurant from Florence located on top of the Hotel Hermitage, fly to NYC and train the Bistrot Leo staff. The Osteria, on Friday, March 4th, took the Bistrot over for a month, and transformed it into a New York version of this Firenze iconic restaurant.Delle Tre Panche is known for their truffle menus and cheesecake, and while the cheesecake was fine, the truffle dishes were sublime. TORTELLI DI PECORINO DI FOSSA AL TARTUFO, raviolis in a parmigiana truffle cream sauce, combined the earthiness of truffles with a subtle lightness. DELICIOUS! The COTOLETTA ALLA MILANESE CON PECORINO E TARTUFO veal milanese with melted pecorino slivers and fresh truffle, was out of this world. I wanted more, although it was a sizable serving. . Our other dish, TAGLIATA AL TARFUFO, sliced strip steak with fresh truffle, was flavorful and tender, with the truffles making the steak anything but ordinary. We ended our meal with that famous cheesecake. It was a memorable dining experience enhanced by our server/bartender Dr. Fausto, who has the charm of George Clooney and the worldliness of Éric Ripert. With several cocktails and two glasses of wine, the bill came to around $350 with tip. A bargain for such exemplary food and such a great time. Do not miss this pop up experience at Bistrot Leo.
Be the first to ReplyRomantic, dim-lit restaurant with delectable drinks & food.
Service was a bit slow but nothing unforgivable. Portions are on the smaller side but well executed. Tables are positioned in a way you can easily hear the conversations taking place in the table next to you but not packed so tightly together you have to ask your neighbors to move when you're getting up/returning from the table. Worthy spot for date night in NYC.
