We'll come back!
Celebrated here my son's 30th birthday, with family and friends, a table of 16. We sat in The Courtyard and enjoyed the live music too. Vanesa sang that night Aretha Franklin's songs and she was astonishing. She generously dedicated a happy birthday song to the young man, which made it a memorable celebration. The food was delicious, the service was great and I must thank Alina one more time for pampering us all. The entire team was kind and helpful, during the planning phase as well. Big thank you!

Fantastic night at the Boisdale restaurant. I was a little nervous as some of the reviews were brutal, in particular about the waiters. However, we were met with smiling faces, in particular at the door, and the waiters could not have been more attentive or helpful. The food was excellent, the steak cooked to perfection and the sticky toffee pudding is big enough for two! The Aretha Franklin tribute act was really good, she hit all the right notes. We would definitely return and have told friends and work colleagues to try this lovely restaurant.
Be the first to ReplyFood was nice but poor service
We chose to dine at Boisdale because of its menu and the live entertainment. This British restaurant is located in Belgravia, London. This unique upscale restaurant has a lively atmosphere. Nice vibe and decor. Tables are very close to each other though. Great selection of food but the service was poor and so slow from the very beginning. It got worse when this place got busy as the live band started around 9pm. I had half a dozen of natural oysters for starter. They were fresh and nice. My main, the Luxury Fish Pie was loaded with generous amount of seafood and so delightful. Everyone else was happy with their food too. We had to wait for quite awhile to get attention to order for some desserts. We almost changed our mind for it. Anyway, the sticky toffee pudding was delicious but we're all agreed that it would be nicer to have it with ice cream instead of cream. Their bar is in a separate room and on the right side of the restaurant. Restrooms are located upstairs. We're not impressed with the service. Our server wasn't attentive and seemed too occupied. Probably the restaurant was too busy but NO excuse!
Be the first to ReplyBirthday dinner
We booked this restaurant based on the website and TA reviews...it was for a birthday celebration... The service was very nice.. the food left us wanting... I had the venison sausages, and my girlfriend the fillet. My sausages were ok,not what i was expecting, the parsley salad was better than the meat. My GF said her steak was just ok as well. The bread and tapenade were the best parts of the meal. As for the show, please update your website to 2024!!
Be the first to ReplyRemains One Of My Favourites
Two visits this month and both were excellent. Huge praise goes to the marvellous Divia who I shall now call ‘La Divina’. The haggis is always an assured success and then the rabbit pie or the game pie when in season washed down with a good claret. Lovely! Jose was his usual jolly self and Ranald was missed while resting. Everyone should visit.
Be the first to ReplyWorst night in years!
Super expensive, poor service, terrible food…and the worst thing about the whole thing? They didn’t care. Coronation Pheasant was probably made in the reign of Queen Victoria. Fish pie was devoid of seafood…it was over egged rather like the place…
Be the first to ReplyThe worst customer service we've experienced
Unfortunately, I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone because of the poor customer service. Having previously enjoyed the one in Canary Wharf- we were expecting it to be simular if not the same. The man on the door that greets you as you walk is is extremely warm spirited and happy- he was the only highlight of the venue, minus the singer... and we only spoke to him for a minute. Having paid £260 for dinner and the show we were so excited to see how our evening would go. Belgravia is not a place we've been before, Boisdale is not a place we go to on a random evening, it's a big treat for us, except it wasn't a treat, more like a chore being in there. We were shown to our table by a man that really doesn't like his job, he didnt smile, he didnt say any kind of greeting he just showed us the table and walked off. We kept asking for a drinks menu for the first 15 minutes, after it finally came we waited a good 25-30 minutes for our drinks to come. The food was good. It was better than okay but not incredible. Portions were tiny and needed seasoning. The singer was absolutely fantastic. The evening was let down by the rude waiters and waitresses. We didn't mention anything to them but they looked so grumpy. Not a smile from any of them. Everything seemed like a chore, so much so that you didn't want to ask for a drink or the menu because it seemed like we were causing an inconvenience. Really felt looked down on by the serving staff.
Be the first to ReplyExcellent meal with some unique offerings
Our food was excellent and somewhat unique for our children. The restaurant was a bit understaffed, but we hardly noticed. A fun meal for all ages.
Be the first to ReplyNew Years Eve - made NOT special
We visited this restaurant for our New Years Eve celebration in Dec 2022. To start with we were very impressed, the place is very unique inside and the starters were amazing. We thought we were in for a treat and we were planning subsequent frequent visits. At that point it didn't even bother us that the restaurant was almost empty (early evening meal, before the expected new years eve rush). However it went very downhill from that point. The section of the restaurant we were seated remained empty of guests for the whole duration of our visit. It was also the section where waiters/waitresses gathered and chatted between themselves. Obviously everyone is entitled to a chat, but when you are having your super expensive new years eve celebration meal, you don't particularly want to overhear the waiters' personal stories. In addition, halfway into our meal they seated the band behind us to the big table. They were all having some burgers and chips and being fairly loud. So whilst we are having our super expensive celebratory meal, they are being loud and having burgers. The meal wan't that special after the starters either, however I added 1 extra star because the starters were truly awesome. On our way out we saw that there were a few other scattered couples at other tables at other parts of the restaurant. Why on earth they didn't seat us with other guests, I don't know. It really 'ruined' the experience, particularly that it was a pricey experience. Whilst we decided to put it down to experience and simply won't return, as New Years eve is approaching and we just passed by this restaurant, I decided to share our experience.
Be the first to ReplyWorst customer service ever!
I have long wanted to visit Boisdale as it’s owned by our clan chief and wanted to support it. But the customer service is the worst I’ve ever encountered and I will never return. Just don’t do it to yourself - loads of other options in London where you might actually encounter some hospitality.
Be the first to ReplyOverall nice location and good food
Nice food offerings, a bit overpriced but I guess normal for the area. Had the fettuccine - it was delicious but nothing special. The homemade bread and butter was awesome! The location is really nice and cozy.
Be the first to ReplyGreat vibe, great cocktails!
I really enjoyed my visit at Boisdale Belgravia. The vibe is simply amazing, outstanding food and drink quality, all accompanied by great staff. A shoutout to Paulo the bartender, who was incredibly friendly and helpful with our drinks choice- and his Senorita Margarita is one of the best Margaritas I've ever had. Totally recommended!
Be the first to ReplyGreat place for a whisky & live music
Best place to get a decent whisky in SW London. Knowledgeable bartenders and good live music. Can be difficult to get a seat in advance on the weekends, so best to book.
Be the first to ReplyVery disappointing
Be cautious about booking via Virgin Experiences as they unfortunately seem to treat customers booking with a voucher as secondary customers. I called to make a weekend reservation and was offered 3 slots on the phone, one of which I accepted. I was then asked to email my voucher number for confirmation of the booking, which I did immediately upon hanging up. I then received an email a couple of hours later saying that apparently they were now fully booked. When I expressed my disappointment , I was told that they have many avenues for bookings so the spaces must have been booked after my phone call. Of course, this is a ridiculous system which only applies to customers trying to use a voucher as you will have to wait until Boisdale decides to follow up on your email, which means your earlier telephone reservation may or may not be honoured if the places are booked by other customers in the interim. I will be complaining to Virgin and unfortunately have been completely put off visiting in future.
Be the first to ReplyThe best place for a cigar and whiskey!
Speak to Paulo and Jose for the best experience of cigars and whiskey! They have great knowledge and created a fantastic experience!

Always a fantastic ambience and consistently high quality food. The haggis is a must have but on this occasion the special of the game pie had to be included as well. Five different meats cooked to perfection. Jose is excellent.
Be the first to ReplyLunch
Unique colourful warm atmosphere. Excellent menu selection for all pockets. Charismatic owner. Love their oysters and haggis ‘specially smothered in whiskey. Time fades away & hard to believe our lunch stretched over 5 delicious hours!
Be the first to ReplyPoor value for money
I booked a table at the Boisdale in advance for 5 people and paid £745 in advance. 3 of my guests could not attend due to pending train strike actions but customer service refused to refund my guests. NYE came and my wife and I only attended. The food was second rate. The salmon as a starter was small in quantity, if you could find any on the plate, lost in a sea of mixed flavoured vegetables. For main course there was little choice. Although tender, the beef was tasteless and of poor quality. The service at table was inattentive and offensive twice. Only a handful of customers were dining on NYE, so the place was embarrassingly empty. No atmosphere! Altogether, I paid the Boisdale £800 for two people to have a lousy evening. The Boisdale is poor value for money. The place reminds me of McDonalds: fast food, hurry up, next please, set to music, we have some more diners with guests to rip off. Never ever again.
Be the first to ReplyCutting corners
We have a Christmas business lunch every year here and the venue has a great atmosphere and ambience. Sadly the food this year failed to match that. The salmon starter portions have shrunk considerably and did not even come with bread. The rib eye steak was about 50% fat and not well cooked either so left at least half of it which is poor for £42. The cheese board has also dwindled and was a handful of small cheeses scattered in the plate. Disappointing.
Be the first to ReplyHooray for Haggis
With its strong Scottish identity it gave this Connecticut Yankee his first experience of haggis and the stuff is great! (Never mind the horrifying tales about what it’s made of) We arrived at the restaurant an hour before he dinner menu ( where one finds haggis) opened. A gracious hostess moved our reservation ahead—-leaving us an hour to kill. It’s worth mentioning here that the Boisdale’s bar offers an astounding variety of single malt scotches, a noggin or two of which made the time fly by. The table service was impeccable and the food, including oysters, cured venison and he long-anticipated haggis was delicious. How much did we like Boisdale? It’s the only restaurant we visited twice in our London stay. There’s no such thing as too much haggis!

I had a great evening in Belgravia. Live jazz. Great atmosphere. Good music. Fantastic drinks. Highly recommended !!!
Be the first to ReplyFabulous
It had been a long time (pre smoking ban), but we were so happy to be back. Delicious steak and chips; cracking bottle of red; wonderful cigar terrace; fantastic jazz band with a singer who’d give Aretha a run for her money. A perfect evening and a great end to a rare trip away to the Smoke sans kids/dog. Thank you Boisdale.
Be the first to ReplySuperb evening
The Venue - stepping through the red door is like stepping into a quirky gentleman's club, or an eccentric millionaire's dining room, the shabby chic is the charm of the place. The staff - amazing, you are met with a smile at the door and this continues throughout the evening. All the staff have a good knowledge of the menu and the extensive wine list. Special praise to Monika who does not stop all night and delivers the same attention to regulars, special occasions only (such as us) or first timers - thank you for making our evening so special again Monika. The food - always first class whether you are choosing from the supper and show menu, or the a la carte. The steaks are the best I have been served anywhere, cooked exactly to your preference. My husband can recommend the lobster fettuccine. The entertainment, and the reason we were there this evening, was the superb Stephen Triffitt who does not just sing Sinatra he becomes the great man himself, every mannerism is executed perfectly, and yes he does have blue eyes! If you have missed Stephen Triffitt you have missed a treat.
Be the first to ReplyWe enjoyed the show / dinner "Aretha Franklin by Vanessa Haynes". Great!!
The show was unbelievable. Vanessa Haynes was a wonderful Interpreter of A. Franklin. She has fascinating Aura and presence on the stage and a very good communication to the audience. The food was absolutely ok as well as the service
Be the first to ReplyAn evening out with a difference
Best evening out we have had for a long time - 3 couples, old friends fancied an evening out and wanted it to be special. Never been here before but it proved to be just the ticket. Food was sooooo good - starters included haggis (some tried it for the first time) and calamari, mains were mainly rib eye (simply fabulous) and fishcakes with a mixture of sides. Managed to squeeze in a couple of deserts, Irish coffees and of course whiskeys. All washed down with some decent Italian Red. Could not fault the food, service was exceptional and then we had the stage show in the background - he Rat pack was the perfect accompaniment throughout the evening very entertaining and great background to the evening. It was not cheap but worth ever penny - will definitly be going back.
