Door man looked at me up and down and said I don't look like I'd spend more than £50 and told us to leave. In all the years I've lived in London, that's by far the rudest place I've encountered! Do not recommend.

Tired of the casual hotel fare near the ExCel Convention Center in Dockside, we were looking for some fine dining and were intrigued after searching about 20 menus. The open table reservation system worked well. We were seated promptly. Although the reservation system had the place sold out, the restaurant was only using about 1/3 of capacity. There was adequate wait staff for the tables. Great service. First time for haggis, and I thought it was wonderful. Bashed neeps and swedes? A turnip side dish that tasted like turnip. Portions were moderate size and very tasty. The book of after dinner whiskeys , a 1000 of them separated by variety? Wow. I did a 6 whiskey tasting flight for 35 pounds. Would definitely return, but next time drop down to the oyster bar, cigar bar on the floor below for a flight with a cigar. My colleague from South America was so jazzed.

It's like a cabaret dinner show type of venue which feels a little dated. Efficient service from the wait staff which was great. The food was overpriced for what it was. I had the mushroom wellington which was about the size of a hockey puck. Unfortunately it was too salty as was the mashed potato. It's probably a good venue if you like live music while eating.

This restaurant appears to have a slight case of mixed identities. They describe themselves as a "Traditional Scottish restaurant with whisky and oyster bar, a cigar terrace and nightly live music". Interesting combination I suppose, though the live jazz the night we were there were a bit on the loud end, without our talking voices needing to rise as the night went on. The food was good, though if it weren't for coming here compliments of the firm, this place is too pricey for what it provides.

My partner took me as a surprise, knowing that i love jazz music. A great night out. Perfect date night. Romantic!!! And fun!!! Many people dancing if wanted to or just enjoying the music!

5*Service - 2.5*Venue - 4*Value - 3*Booked a table for Sunday lunch with live jazz. It was a vast venue on the first floor overlooking Cabot Square. The window seats were popular but we sat in the middle, which was closer to the live jazz musicians. The decor was a throwback and dated( but pleasantly nostalgic with portraits of jazz musicians littered around. We had the three course menu. The starters of smoke salmon and prawn cocktail were underwhelming. Roast beef was okay, but the Yorkshire pudding was huge and perfectly made. The sides of carrots and broccoli were unseasoned and bland. For desserts, we had chocolate torte and the apple crumble which were average. The highlight of the meal was the live jazz music.

Fabulous place! Came here for a Daffy's gin launch (with cocktails) - what a treat! Apart from the obvious (that Daffy's gin is amazing), the cocktails were really tasty. The venue itself is gorgeous (really difficult to find if you're not used to the Canary Wharf area) but a beauty all the same. I absolutely loved the decor in this place - classy, old fashioned, yet also contemporary at the same time. Another exciting aspect of this bar/restaurant is the cigar room - that's right a dedicated room for smoking cigars. Now I'm not a smoker, but when at Boisdale... smoking a cigar has now definitely been ticked off my bucket list. Coupled with a gorgeous whiskey (I'm not a whiskey drinker either, but the bar tender recommended a wonderful one as he knew I was a rum drinker). Overall, a wonderful bar, friendly and helpful bar staff and a lovely venue. I will certainly go back to sample the food.

I hadn't been to a whisky bar before so when Parisian Friend asked where he could sample some of that juice, off to boisdale we went. Slap bang in the middle of canary Wharf and accessible by its private lift, this place is somptuous. The first floor is where the (oyster) bar and cigar room (yep a CIGAR ROOM)and terrace are.We sat at the bar so as to chit chat with the whiskyteers that KNOW their stuff. Tonight's music was soul and a live jazz band played in the restaurant upstairs. I went for the best ginger cocktail I had in my life with homemade ginger syrup. Drinking this is like putting a straw on a G-root and suckling its juice DELISH. Friend started off with a 25yo chivas (yawn) the whisky menu is 50 pages and Chivas is what friend chose arrrff. However, Friend's eyes popped out and jaw dropped at the taste. Then off to connemara he went which did the same effect. We took a sneak peak upstairs where there is Beautiful display of bottles behind the bar.I was disappointed in Friend for not trying the 1.5k double shot. Friend should've lived a little and spend my paycheck on it.

I've been to quite a few places for lunch in the Wharf and I have to say that this may have been my favorite thus far. I could imagine the ambiance here at night being much nicer and kind of wish there was jazz music playing mid-day, but alas, there was none. I had the scallops and black pudding starter, which was divine! For an entree I had the poached halibut, which was nice, but I felt it was a little too creamy and heavy for such a light fish. I probably should have read the description better - since it does say it is in a creamy butter sauce. I wish I just went with the steak as my colleagues did (it looked so good). Service was attentive and relatively quick. I would love to come back (and luckily it's a stone's throw away from my office, so I probably will).

What an amazing place! From the food to the service to the over 1,000 whiskey choices. I drank a very hard to find Buffalo trace antique collection bourbon. We went for a drink and quick lunch. The hummus platter and fish and chips were amazing. The clientel is higher end, but they are not snooty at all. We are American and walked in with jeans and a button up shirt and were fine. Mostly business men and woman talking shop. Next time I am in London I will definitely make this a must visit again. I will absolutely go for dinner and sit upstairs.
Be the first to ReplyA decent restaurant.
The atmosphere was fantastic. I had the chicken (which was moist & tasty) with "inferno" sauce - definitely not. My drink (old fashioned) was perfect. My only reason for not rating higher was out took forever to order , get our food, etc. We ended up passing on dessert because it took so long.If you are lucky to hear some live music, extra special treat. The gentlemen performing for us were smashing!
