Fabulous food in an amazing setting. Don’t miss the famous turtles in the courtyard!
I cannot tell you how amazing this place was. It exceeded our expectations and I would highly recommend visiting here when in New Orleans . They the banana foster or the baked apple if you have a sweet tooth, they were absolutely delicious. The staff and the place were outstanding .
Be the first to ReplyGreat breakfast at Brennan’s!
We had a wonderful breakfast at Brennan’s. From the moment my family walked in the door the staff were welcoming and attentive. Our server was exceptional. He offered thoughtful menu suggestions and steered us in the direction of what we truly wanted to eat! Great staff, delicious food, and good energy flowing throughout the restaurant. Book the reservation - you won’t regret it!

Our first time at Brennan’s and will definitely be back. The brunch was outstanding and the service was great! My choice was the Eggs Benedict ( Brennan’s original) . I loved it. Everyone enjoyed their meals and beverages.

It's a given, but you must order the Banana's Foster tableside! What a unique experience. Not only is it delicious, but you'll get a brief history of the Banana's Foster from your server. The service was a tad slow, but the restaurant was packed, so perfectly understandable. Our meals were outstanding and the service impeccable! Would highly recommend this place.
Be the first to ReplyA must visit in NOLA
You can pretty much dismiss its relatively low position on TA 's NOLA Restaurat ratings. Interesting dishes and a top notch BM. Good staff.
Be the first to ReplyFood is wonderful!
Ambience is amazing - every very room is ornately decorated & so different- front room is more quiet and intimate, garden room is bright & lively but noisy, bar area is darker & fun. Food is excellent but smaller portions so big eaters/hungry need a "starter" & dessert. Service is friendly but a bit slow - both food and "requests" (salt/pepper, more butter)

Delicious brunch. Went with intention of getting the bananas foster but were too full after the main course. Good, prompt service.

After hearing rave reviews, we booked my birthday brunch here. The food was bland and overpriced, and the service was slow. It took us 2 hours to get in and out of there. We were very disappointed after hearing such amazing things about this place.

This is an over rated restaurant. The Banana Fosters is a draw and they are just ok. The food is not high end taste and the service is not $$$$
Be the first to ReplyOutstanding Breakfast at Brennan's!
Everyone I spoke with in advance said breakfast/brunch at Brennan's was a "must" on our New Orleans visit and I can say it did not disappoint! Worth every penny! We started with the Baked Apple and Sweet Potato Pain Perdu....both were decadent and delicious! Among my family we got the Eggs Hussarde, Steak and eggs, Lobster Omelette and Carmelized Onion Quiche.....all were fantastic...really nothing to critique...and of course we ended with Bananas Foster...amazing! The service was outstanding, the ambiance was bright, clean and had a good energy to it. They even made a very special treat for my daughter's birthday, which made her day. It was not inexpensive, especially when you throw in drinks, but again, I felt it was totally worth it...an overall fantastic experience!

Our experience at Brennan's was amazing! It was a meal to remember, from the quaint decor to the service to the outstanding cuisine. The highlight of the evening was the dessert presentation when our server, Jory, told the real story of how Bananas Foster came to be while preparing the phenomenal dessert flambe tableside!

My first stab at turtle soup and crab etofee We were highly Impressed. My Hurricane needed a little more liquor in it and the wait staff needed customer service service lessons. Otherwise, food was amazing.
Be the first to ReplyTurtle Soup is $2 more at Brennan’s.
Turtle soup at Brennan’s was $13 and at their sister restaurant Commander’s Palace it was $11. Both restaurants have the same menu but Brennan’s charges $2 more for the same Turtle Soup. Why?
Be the first to ReplyBananas Foster for breakfast
Bananas Foster for breakfast! And the best coffee in the FQ. Superb service, proper coffee in a french press, bananas prepared in front of you. Fabulous way to start the day!

I ate the Banana’s Foster for breakfast! Yum! Delicious! Beautiful restaurant. Friendly staff! Gorgeous outdoor seating. One complaint is the dozen or more homeless people sitting across the street on the court house steps. They were yelling at us for money. We arrived early. We walked to the Omni and sat to get away from the hassling. Did not enjoy that experience at all! Our reservation was for 9:00 am. They did not open the doors until after 9:00.

Experience ws quite lovely, classy place, make sure you have ashirt with u, no tank top or t shirts allowed in, understandable. that banana fosters is not to be missed. the service is professional, courteous, excellent. really not overly priced for the lovely placce it is. love that the server takes time as she prepares the foster in front of you telling the foster story as they have to do time and time again to every person who orders it and they do it pleasantly apparently every time.

We went there for brunch. Loved the ambience. Amazing service from our server, Ray. We had the asparagus avocado salad and eggs st charles, both were absolutely delicious. Highly recommend the bananas foster.

I know a lot of people say this place is overrated, but it truly is a must eat. We had brunch as a family. We were nervous that it would not be family friendly but it was and everyone was extremely kind. The server offered us the best options for our children, special ordered us a bowl of fruit for our baby, and showed us to the turtles in the pond. Everything was absolutely delicious, the service was phenomenal, and of course so do try the bananas foster. Nothing on the menu will disappoint!
Be the first to ReplyBreakfast at Brennans!!
Went with family for the Brennans experience. The property is beautiful and right across from the Supreme Courthouse. Easily made a reservation through opentable.com for the next day. Be on time because the line gets long quick . Food was excellent, service perfect . Step out of your comfort zone and try something new, the Artisanal eggs Benedict was amazing! Don’t forget the dress code ( we did but they still let us in)

Nice old-school ambiance and friendly staff. Fancy but not pompous.
I had breakfast at the bar. The food and cocktails were unique and tasty, but a little expensive. The Bananas Foster was excellent (and I'm not a banana lover).
100% recommend.
Fabulous
The atmosphere the service and the food are all impeccable. Plenty to choose from for all tastes, the preparation is fantastic. Home of the original Bananas Foster. Don’t miss this gem.

I really want to give this place a five star review, but the way we were treated, I just can’t. This is definitely a higher end establishment, where the average age is 40+ and the dress code must be southern, pastel, golf banquet chic. I had on a black dress and my significant other was in shorts and a tee. We were roaming the city trying drinks and splitting a meal and several establishments so that we could experience several different places throughout the day. When we first walked in and asked for a table we were promptly told that they did not have anything available. I then asked if we could put our name on the reservation list to which they seemed hesitant, but still took my information. Which they then followed up with tables are first come first serve and that they were going to be getting busy soon so they could not guarantee a table. As we thank them and we’re walking out the door somebody came after us and told us that we could sit at the bar if we would like, which we did. The bartender was a younger girl who seemed nice enough, but didn’t want to give us the time of day. I did not realize how short she was with us until I watched her interact with everybody around us and ask about their trip, where they were from, explained the menu to them, to which we did not receive any of the same pleasantries. Overall, we paid $78 for 3 mimosas and a ($23) seafood omelet with ($7) bacon and ($7) potatos. The potatos are like frozen cubed hash browns, not worth $7. They have the same ones at Masperos for half the price. It’s not about the money, but the experience. It was obvious were out of place by the way the staff treated us. Food was good, drinks were just drinks. You can’t really mess up champagne and OJ. Apparently they have a turtle pond on the patio but I felt uncomfortable going out and exploring. We paid our bill and left pretty quickly. I would recommend dressing the part before going here if you want to be addressed properly. We didn’t realize we were underdressed until it was too late. Again, we just wanted to try new places, but now we know.

What a disappointment. We were seated at 12:30 PM for brunch. We sat for 15 minutes until a waiter said he would be with us in a minute-this was while he was just beginning to make bananas foster at the next table. We had asked for a table in the Garden Patio room, but they misunderstood and put us on the patio itself. The front of house staff was great at complimenting and joking with each other but MIA and incompetent when dealing with patrons. There is zero dress code anymore- cutoffs and tank tops acceptable. We left and had a great meal at Mr B’s. I have to think Ralph would be horrified if he actually knew what was going on. I am a restaurant critic and have to say that there are a zillion better brunch options than Brennan’s.
Be the first to ReplySuch a joy for the taste buds!
We visited on 3/14/2022 on our first day in New Orleans. We did not have a reservation but they seated us at the bar. Everything was wonderful and delicious. We ordered the soup, Jackson salad, and oysters Rockefeller. All were outstanding. My favorite was the salad. It was such a unique set of flavors. At the end, we had to order the banana foster and it did not disappoint! It was a wonderful experience from the preparation to finally eating it. It was an excellent dessert! The coffee also was the best I have had so far on this trip. It was the best banana foster ever! The bartender was friendly.

My wife and I visited NOLA in October of last year with another couple who had never been. We wanted them to experience one of the old Creole restaurants. Brennan’s was closed for renovations last time we were there (2014) so we thought we’d give it a try this time around. Good decision!
All the food was outstanding and the service impeccable. Try the turtle soup and, for dessert, Bananas Foster prepared table-side.
