I remember when this spot was in the west village and enjoyed getting the big pints during the pandemic so I'd feel slightly healthy! Got a very comforting beef-ginger broth on a cold sunny day in the east village and it was delicious. Long line, surprisingly.
Be the first to ReplyCult following bone broth for a reason.
It's exceptional!!!! My favourite is Signature broth Oishi Oishi style!
Be the first to ReplyThis is a great concept.
I love it. Sometimes you want something warm to drink but you don't want tea and you don't want coffee....this is perfect for those occasions. It's not heavy, and you get to drink something warm and tasty. However, I don't feel I get enough bone broth flavor and they're a bit pricey. Other than that, definitely worth a try.
Be the first to ReplyA year ago I would have given 5 stars.
Brodo's mushroom seaweed broth has been my go to for a long time. But, the last two times I bought this broth from them it had no flavor. It was just like brown water. I had to add bouillon. I went back this last time thinking that my previous experience was surely an anomaly. Well...stupid me. $20 bucks down the drain - TWICE. I wrote to them and never got a reply. Such a bummer. At their prices, these broths should be nothing but exceptional. Time to learn how to make my own!

Clearly people in there. There's an employee sitting on a chair on her phone and people in the back making soup. But they never bothered to open the window for me. Oh well. I'll go elsewhere.
Be the first to ReplyDelicious bone broth.
The flavor and quality is worth a stop. I miss the lunchtime convenience of their Soho window. I pick up their frozen quarts to keep on hand for the week. Chicken, hearth and veggie options are my favorites.

I am begging you to update your business hours on Google, your website, your voicemail, etc. This is the third time I have gone out of my way to visit and the store has been shuttered when it says multiple places that it's open. Completely understandable that things are in flux due to these ~unprecedented times~, but the least you could do is update your voicemail (currently enthusiastically advertising the incorrect hours!!) to reflect that business times may vary as a courtesy to your customers who just want to buy your overpriced broth.

It was a rainy day and I was feeling low so, I ordered some soup from Brodo. I chose the Minestrone soup with organic chicken broth. The soup came with a topping of spinach greens and crispy soffritos. I would definitely order again. The soup was healthy and filling.
Be the first to ReplyNice little gem in East Village.
Like the soups very much. The toppings are so innovative and definitely worth trying. The only thing is that it is on the salty side as I cook soup myself very often and get used to adding only a little bit salt at the end. But this is just personal preference.
Be the first to ReplySo expensive.
Too bad. I would go all the time if their prices were better!!! I love the BEC add in. Actually tastes like a bacon egg and cheese--crazy!!

Brodo is an amazing place to stop, especially during the cold winter months. My favorite is the chicken broth with parsley and lemon, but everything I've tried has been delicious. A little pricey, but overall worth it! :)
Be the first to ReplyNote: This review is for the Vegetarian option.
This place was strongly recommended by my friendly pharmacist, Dr. Ali, whose pharmacy is close to Brodo, and whose recommendation was part of his prescription for me to heal from my respiratory infection. I have passed by this place many times. As a vegetarian, I can't have the bone broth but let me get their vegetarian special which was parmesan cream and leek. I asked for fresh ginger as recommended. ย For this cup, I paid around $10. The gal was not friendly and I literally saw her assemble it:hot waterbroth powderleekparmesan sauce She did not put the fresh ginger and immediately closes the separator window. For some reason, it rubs me off the wrong way. There is no thank you from her part and the tablet register expects one to tip 20% or more for this subpar performance. When I arrived home, I anticipated a one of a kind experience. What I had was a very lackluster soup that lacked the flavor, taste, or any culinary art. At least for the vegetarian option. It is not worth the $10 and I regret not going to Mee's for very satisfying Chinese food at the same price. ย I know friends who are hooked by the Brodo and they must get the bone one which I assume is tastier. A Lipton instant soup surpasses it by 1000% because it has flavor, taste, and it surpasses the expectation of a supermarket soup. And its much friendlier to my pocket book. This experience is added to my chapter of "Once is Enough!"

It was probably about 40 degrees with horrendous winds when I saw the Brodo Broth Co. cart. There are five broths; Chicken, beef, hearth, seaweed + mushroom, and The kind gentlemen spared several minutes to give me a sample of each broth!I went with the Seaweed Mushroom and Chicken broth with no add-ons. Simply delicious and homey feeling; sorta like having your grandma's soup. There are plenty of reviews here that say it is too salty or rich but if you grew up in an Asian household like I was, this would be far from the truth. Be prepared to shell out a few heavy dollars for a small cup of this broth. If you are debating, don't. You were going to spend $11 on a smoothie anyways.
Be the first to ReplyMy problem is it's straight broth! No vegetables or noodles.
Why did I pay $10 for a small cup of straight broth??? That's a waste off money
Be the first to ReplyUWS Location:Great broth.
Fantastic concept and product. BUT Counter service has declined substantially over the past year. Staff is often unknowledgeable and inadequately trained. Almost every time I go into the shop (UWS), ย one staff member working ย the counter and another staff member standing around doing very little - disconnected with customer service. And frequent technical difficulties, like out of product (freezer almost empty), tap not working, computer users etc. Reflects badly on the band. Prediction: Brodo will be quickly eclipsed if a competitor emerges who provides a better customer experience. For now I'm moving over to Kettle & Fire, which I can order on Amazon. May not being as good a product but it's too frustrating to go to Brodo. (Yes I know I can buy it frozen via Whole Foods - but I'm losing brand loyalty).

Super delicious broths that are made even better (as if that was even possible) by the additions of add-ins. I'm sipping a Deeply Rooted Hearth bone broth as I write this review and it's making me feel like I'm wrapped in a ginger and fresh turmeric blanket : ) That's a very good thing when it's cold outside...and, while I'm looking forward to trying all of their combinations, but it's going to be tough to stop by the window and not order another one of these!
