Second trip here after 34 years! We had a couple of hours
Second trip here after 34 years! We had a couple of hours to kill before a ferry and decided on an early dinner within walking distance. The interior was much as I remembered it. Its dark & gloomy vibe makes for a relaxed respite from the touristy crowds. Our server, Geoff, was chatty and attentive. I remembered the clam chowder being a little different, but it was still great. Among our group, we ordered the Lobster Street Corn Fritters, two types of sushi rolls, a poke bowl & burger. The fritters were delicious but I couldn't discern any hint of lobster. Everyone enjoyed their choices. My only criticism is the $23 price tag for a Hendricks martini served in an undersized coupe glass. C'mon, Nantucket. Pretty ridiculous, even for you. TBOT is an iconic landmark to visit if you're on the island.
WOW this was 5 stars across the board.
We stopped in just after lunch rush and asked for a table for 7, within seconds, the staff at the front said "we have the perfect table for you on the patio" and boy was he serious. Such a fun patio, lively, and large as well as covered. Service was outstanding and I tried something outside my comfort zone, the tuna crunch roll, it was great! Everyone enjoyed the variety of their meals. Also, it was fairly priced. When on Nantucket youve got to try Cisco beers, so I got the Grey Lady and it was SO good. Overall, the staff and the food made this a fabulous experience, I would recommend and return. We even got some merch to commemorate the stop.
Love the raw bar! Patio is perfect.
Great service. We found the downstairs bar and it is our new go to spot!
A must stop for your Nantucket stay !
Brotherhood is a must stop for lunch or dinner. If the weather is good head to the outside dining located behind the buildings. Food great and reasonably priced!
The Brotherhood of Thieves - very good lunch or dinner in Old Town section of Nantucket
Very popular in the Old Town part of Nantucket, The Brotherhood of Thieves restaurant (both indoor and outdoor covered patio dining) serves hearty, crowd-pleasing food and drink (extensive list of drinks, appetizers, salads, sandwiches ranging from chicken to burgers or lobster). We enjoyed: Peach Sangria (peach, white wine, vodka) - good! Crab cakes (qty 2) - VERY good appetizer New England Clam Chowder - creamy and tasty (but mainly potatoes; VERY FEW clams) Lobster Roll (warm & buttered) - delicious lobster on a soft, toasted brioche bun - YUM!! The accompanying curly fries were mediocre All-in-all, The Brother of Thieves is a lively, fun, casual (come-as-you-are) restaurant with a huge menu of good-to-very-good food items to please any food (or drink) preferences.
Brotherhood of Thieves has quickly become our favorite
Brotherhood of Thieves has quickly become our favorite restaurant on Nantucket. It's cozy, lively, and has such a unique charm with its 1800s-inspired aesthetic that makes you feel like you've stepped back in time -- in the best way possible. We usually sit at the bar, and it's always a great experience. The bartenders are not only fun and personable but also super knowledgeable, which makes trying cocktails a real treat. The Aviation has become our go-to drink here -- perfectly balanced and refreshing with Creme de Violette and an Instagram friendly purple aesthetic. When it comes to food, the standout for me is their signature Spicy Rigatoni. It's hands-down one of the best meals I've had on the island -- rich, flavorful, and perfectly executed every time. Pair it with a cocktail or a local beer from Cisco, and you've got a meal that hits every note. I also love their sushi menu - where else can you go to a historic eatery that has sushi? What really sets Brotherhood apart is the atmosphere. It's got that ideal "neighborhood joint" vibe where everyone feels welcome -- whether you're a regular or just visiting for the first time, they make you feel right at home. It's a spot that works for everyone: families, couples, or just grabbing a drink and dinner with friends. All in all, Brotherhood of Thieves is the kind of place you'll want to return to again and again. It's Nantucket charm wrapped in great food, drinks, and warm hospitality.
On our first night on Nantucket we wanted a casual meal
On our first night on Nantucket we wanted a casual meal with some atmosphere. We tried Brotherhood of Thieves based on their menu. The food and atmosphere were fine, but we had the worst service experience ever. Our waiter stopped by to take our drink and entree order, then disappeared for the night. He walked by our table a number of times, yet never asked us how our food was, never asked if we wanted more drinks, and never refilled our water. We were going to order more drinks and dessert, but didn't because of his attitude. A shame.
This place has something for everyone.
The sushi was surprisingly excellent, we highly recommend it. We ate inside downstairs and loved the ambiance. Service was very good. Will definitely make it a regular spot!
This was our first time visiting the restaurant.
The staff was very friendly, from the host to the server. The food was delicious, too! We got the Buffalo Caribbean Chicken Tenders to start, which were delicious. I got the Grilled Portobello sandwich, which was also delicious. Although the menu specified curly fries, they were regular, which was not a problem. My only complaint was that the tables on the patio are very close together. The patio is fun, and we were having a pleasant lunch until a family was seated. The kids were out of control, and the mother was loud and insulting the server. Because we were seated so close, it definitely put a damper on our lunch. I'm not sure what the best solution for this is, other than add space between tables on the patio. Otherwise, we would return and hope for a bette family next to us!
Eat in the back patio
We enjoyed all of our food. The crab cakes, poke bowl, and the Cobb salad were all delicious. The chocolate chip cookie Sundae was yummy, but the carrot cake was amazing. The lavender lemonade was heaven, and the service was good.
Always a great time at Brotherhood! Stopped for some drinks
Always a great time at Brotherhood! Stopped for some drinks and apps and everything was amazing! The spicy watermelon margarita was to die for!! The burrata and mango buffalo chicken tenders cannot be missed. The cheesesteak egg rolls and Thai chicken also were incredible. So many good choices here. There's lot of options for seating here which is nice. The service was great too, fast and friendly!
Average restaurant with noisy bar
A lower level restaurant with a bar. The bar and restaurant can be noisy. Low ceilings and low lighting is not for all. Service can be surly. In addition to American menu it has a good sushi menu. Ok if other preferred restaurants are booked during summer.
A Nantucket Pub!
A pub in Nantucket with excellent food. We loved it and would definitely go back . The sushi looked amazing but we had the famous Cisco burger & the chicken fingers. Lots of choices and a great staff.
Great lobster roll
Good clam chowder and lobster rolls! Cool decor and good service. Make a reservation or be prepared for a very long wait.
The food and drinks were fair, the waitstaff seemed very
The food and drinks were fair, the waitstaff seemed very annoyed and irritated with many of the guests. It was hot and crowded, so I understand but being that it's Nantucket I would have expected a friendly staff being it's a tourist destination in the summer. *note: you cannot sit inside unless you have made a reservation.
My friends and I came here for lunch after we saw that Joe
My friends and I came here for lunch after we saw that Joe Biden (we love you!) ate here so we wanted to check it out. Hostess and waiter were both so friendly. The food also came out pretty quickly. I loved the dark woodsy look of the interior and all of the nautical touches really tied everything together. My friend said the strawberry mojito was good, just a little too strong for her. I loved the oysters-- super fresh and I was excited to try some from Nantucket. The sushi roll was okay-- I've had better but I've also had worse. I just think it was a little expensive for what it was. The lobster roll was just okay. I thought it was overcooked, which made it a little rubbery, and $40 for the amount of meat was definitely steep. I did enjoy the slaw and side of greens though. Fun experience for a quick bite!
Fun Vibe and Fabulous Dining Experience
A fun Pub-like experience in beautiful Nantucket! We thoroughly enjoyed our crafted cocktails and delicious meal in this picturesque setting. The Lobster and Streetcorn fritters were to die for and the Lobster Salad was perfection!!! We highly recommend!!!
Island stable. Your trip isn’t complete without a stop here
We ate both lunch and dinner here with our two children (ages 8 and 10). Staff is extremely friendly and the service is great. Food is really good and the atmosphere is better. Upstairs is fun but you really want to sit downstairs. The old pub feel is what you came for. Book ahead because reservations fill up. Definitely get the clam chowder
Unexpectedly Enjoyable Visit
We don't normally eat in places with funky names like this but we were here for the book festival and were a bit anxious about finding anywhere to eat on a Friday night and we were able to get an online booking. Or so we thought. We think that one of our team cocked up the booking because when we got there, there was no record of the booking. The restaurant was busy but the gals out front squeezed us in. We weren't expecting a sushi option and both went in that direction. The food was good but not sensational but what we really liked was (a) the ambience, which was very friendly, and (b) the service , which was very fast and efficient. We also liked the way the wait staff backed each other up, including the very elegantly dressed maitresse d' who didn't mind pitching in to straighten up some chairs or clear a table while she was moving around making sure everything was in order. We enjoy watching a good crew at work almost as much as we like eating. We enjoyed ourselves a lot. Prices reasonable.
Two thumbs up
Family of four has an excellent lunch. Lobster roll was exquisite, caprese chicken sandwich was so flavorful, blackened swordfish was moist and tasty, and the spicy rigatoni was the perfect blend of creaminess And spice. Highly recommend!
Couple of issues we had.
Were greeted by a very rude elderly gentleman at the outdoor kiosk. It was a pretty busy evening so he told us to look around ourselves rather than suggesting or assisting with a seating. Thought we would try lunch on another day as the restauarant was only a quarter full. Two burgers took over 40 minutes to arrive. Won't be going back most likely. Unfortunate.
Great Experience on Daffy Weekend
This is a well-run restaurant. During a very hectic Daffodil Weekend when the place was slammed the manager (Jack) took the time to find us a spot to have a beer while we waited for our table and the two servers that we interacted with were terrific under tough conditions. We were delighted. The food was great and the atmosphere is always wonderful.
Enjoyable place for lunch
We were just on Nantucket for the day. Walking around and found this place and thought we’d give it a try. Glad we did! Was busy for lunch (1:00ish). Friendly greeting and our server Eva was attentive and friendly. I had the chicken caprese sandwich with fries; my friend had a burger on gluten free bun with mixed greens. Cisco Brewery’s Lady Grey draft for me and a Pinot noir for my friend (very generous pour) Prices were good for the quality and quantity. Fun, friendly atmosphere. East walk from the ferry landing or Main Street. Highly recommend!
Excelent food and service!
We went to Natucket for the day. November. Many shops closed and really cold weather. We asked two passersby for a restaurant indication. They both recommended the Brotherhood. Place was full, we had to wait 30 min. But it was worth. The boom boom ahrimps were exquisite, the seafood linguine fantastic. The apple pie was just delicious. Go. You won’t be disapointed
Skip this restaurant!
This is a good spot to skip! The food was only passable and the service was poor. The restaurant in loud, crowded and unpleasant. There are many better restaurant opportunities in Nantucket!
Good food. Good value for money.
The food was very good. We had the sushi, clam chowder and a stand out maple sweet potatoes side. In a very expensive town this restaurant offers good value for money. My only gripe was with the cocktails which I have found taste very watery in the bars in the US as they use far too much ice and this was the case here.
CLAM CHOWDER😋
Lunch here was excellent. We ate outside on a beautiful sunny day. The highlight was the clam chowder, the lobster roll and fish and chips were also delicious. A must when you visit!
Disappointing experience.
It was fun to go to a cool must go to destination. The rigatoni was good. The fish and chips was terrible. Fish was overcooked and inedible. I should have sent it back. They took the fish and chips off our bill, which I appreciated.
Incredible clam chowder
Ambiance was great. The clam chowder was amazing. My wife had the salmon and loved it. She normally doesn’t like salmon. Service was great. Awesome first night experience In Nantucket.
Great lunch with outstanding service!
Had a great lunch with an outstanding waiter. The food was great, service was excellent and venue is fu. A place not to miss when in Nantucket!
Wonderful surprise!
We had come over for the day and wanted to avoid the more touristy dinner options. Our walking tour guide recommended this restaurant, and we're so glad he did! A charming, relaxed restaurant with an inventive, tasty menu, and good service. We were there mid-week and the outside patio was full. Cheerful buzz all around us made it a most enjoyable dinner. Definitely on the list next time we're on island.

I came here on a first date and it went amazing! Our server, Travis, was very helpful and made us feel very welcome. Very VERY quick service and affordable (for Nantucket). I WILL be coming back next time Im on the island FOR SURE. I love the brick first floor and the change in aesthetic on the second floor. Great food, great drinks. They have something for everyone. Wish I tried the sushi because my date and I were both gawking at the table's besides ours LOL. Thanks Travis and Brotherhood of Thieves for being apart of my first Nantucket experience
