Burma Burma Restaurant & Tea Room Colaba Reviews from The Last Year
We enjoyed the food and the ambience.
The restaurant is busy but we got a booth. The staff is very nice and attentive. The Tea Leaf salad quantity is less compared to previous visits. The amount of tea leaf is less compared to other Burmese restaurants. The Black Pepper Tofu was really good. We enjoyed it with the Burmese Indian Rice. Overall a very good experience.
Burma Burma is good
Love the samosa soup. The place is spacious and the service is quick. The new branch at oberoi mall is very convenient. Even their mocktails are very good . Overall a delightful experience . They don’t take reservations on weekends so going there early mite help

I feel conflicted having such an inverse experience than most people. The service was very fast and friendly. They were so open to share the top dishes on the menu. The food came out super fast and our waters never went empty. The food though... was not great. It must be a very specific palate because there were THREE very large birthdays here, so obviously people love this place. If you're eating here, you must order the palata. It's like an Indian paratha and is so perfectly chewy/flakey. The gravy though tastes like pot roast. No spices or aromatics added. The pepper lamb/beef is tasty too, not spicy at all. You're supposed to order the fermented green tea leaf salad, but there were so many bad reviews that we ordered the samosa salad. It comes with a singular samosa chopped up over very old and wilted lettuce. I was excited for the tamarind, but never really tasted it. We asked for the jalapeño minted chicken to be extra spicy, but there was literally no spice. Not only that... but there were no jalapeños? The texture was very interesting though. The signature dish is the Nan Gyi Dok which has a wonderfully chewy texture and similar to a creamy udon. However, the boiled eggs were so overcooked that all you could taste and smell was a mouthful of sulphur. This was my first foray into Burmese food, so I could be expecting the wrong things. I was hoping for spicy and aromatic, but that might not be what this culture is about, so take my review with a grain of salt. To me, this tasted more like American southern food than southeast Asian.
Ordered takeout - was very impressed with their packing.
Everything tasted great! Service was perfect, they had already packed everything we needed. Inside dining was packed when we came to pick up our takeout.
First time at Burma Burma and the food was amazing! Ordered
First time at Burma Burma and the food was amazing! Ordered the tea leaf salad, mint jalapeño chicken, and Burma garlic noodles. Service was fast, I was hoping to sit outdoors but they don't do outdoor on the Sunday's as the hostess said? Everything was flavorful and I would come again

Me and my wife stopped by one night while they had a live band and the food was amazing and the check was very decent for the amount we ordered.
I simply love this food.
I tried for the first time this year. Must have are the palata appetizer, mango chicken, the eggplant and Burma rice. My goal is to try every single dish at this restaurant. I'd skip the desserts though. But the food is awesome!

Really great food and good amount of serving.
Came here with family and everyone loved it! the service is fast and waitstaff are really nice. very homy vibe.
We came for dinner around 7pm on a Thursday night.
Ambiance is nice, it was kinda busy. Service was fast and got our food less than 10 minutes after ordering. We ordered the tea leaf salad, honey walnut prawns, stir fry sweet corn, pine but fried rice, beef kebat. All delicious. Would definitely come back!
We've been to this restaurant many times.
The food is so consistent, good and fresh. The staff is so friendly. Helen is always so welcoming is super sweet
Food good if you get it. Service terrible.
Service so slow. Food arrived before drinks. One dish never arrived. Service charge “optional” but when paid 7% instead of 10% due to terrible service got shouted at in the street!
Their food is delicious! I will definitely be going back

Everything I've gotten from Burma Burma has been fantastic!
Everything I've gotten from Burma Burma has been fantastic! It's a go to spot for me and my family. My personal favorite is the lettuce wraps, but the sesame beef, pad thai, and dry curry chicken are all delicious!
The quality of the food is amazing.
All of the portions are great and the food is unique and delicious. Would recommend going here!!
Good food and super quick service, staff is friendly.
It was pretty busy when I was there but it was not a problem at all. Highly recommend this this place.
Food was good, but meat was tough and chewy in some dishes.
This review is mainly based on customer service received. I brought my mother here during her visit and was very disappointed with how long we waited for our food.
I don't think the food is authentic Burmese.
We ordered more than 10 different dishes and everything tastes the same. Ver bad experience
Title: Delicious Vegetarian Food: Burma Burma
Burma Burma serves yummy vegetarian dishes straight from Burma, making it a special place for veggie lovers like me. When I walked in, the cozy vibe made me feel relaxed and ready to eat. The menu is all about classic Burmese veggie food, no mix-ups. I started with some tasty starters. The samosas were crispy and filled with yummy stuff, and the tea leaf salads were bursting with flavor. For the main course, I tried the Khao Suey and Shan-style noodles. Both dishes were full of tasty ingredients and made me feel like I was eating in Burma. To wash it down, I sipped on some refreshing mocktails and traditional Burmese teas. They went perfectly with the food and made the meal even better. Overall, Burma Burma is a great spot for delicious vegetarian food straight from Burma. Whether you're a veggie lover or just looking for something tasty, it's definitely worth a visit.
Wonderful food
Relaxing vibe, attentive courteous service and fabulous food. We were new to Burmese and loved it. Tangy flavours with tea leaf salad, crunchy tofu bao buns and the signature curry - lots of teas to try and delicious inventive looking desserts
Amongst the best vegetarian food I've ever had...excellent
There are a lot of new style eateries in The Fort Area of Mumbai. This has to be one of the best. We are not vegetarians, and BurmaBurma is. We did not miss meat for a second though, in fact the plates we chose had all the depth, complexity and texture of a meat dish....that is clever. I chose The Spring Rolls which came with a .lovely salad and my wife had Udon Noddles in a creamy sauce. And, much to the annoyance of my wife (because it was simply brilliant) I had a mocktail based on mint and fruit juice which was staggeringly refreshing. And save yourself for the ice creams. We had one chocolate and one salted caramel...my wife said it was the best ice cream she'd ever had. She was right. The surroundings are very stylish, the service as near perfect as it could be. Its only downside is that you need to get there early for lunch (it opens at 12.00) because every one in town wants to eat there...
The most delicious tasy to tea
This restaurant tea is very good in taste it give a refreshments to the body. The foods of this restaurant are very tasty and delicious
Tasty and original.
Absolutely loved the sheer creativity of this pace. Though it was both completely veg and non-alcoholic, the amount of choice, freshness, taste sensation supposed any Burmese cuisine I’ve ever tried. A beautiful night out, but come early as there were queues at 8:30 when we left
A memorable evening
Truly Exceptional . We were here this evening ,my husband and I . It was very busy but we took seats at the bar area and ate there rather than wait on a table . It was a good choice as we could see close up the guys making tea and various coolers and drinks , it was delightful to watch the art form , they are Masters of their Work . The food I think I can say is probably the most memorable in a long time . Apart from being very pleasing to the eye ,everything was fresh and light & flavoursome . The staff were all smiling and pleasant . I read some reviews here where people complained about the wait time ,well just remember —- Some things in life are worth waiting for. Thank you Burma Burma for a lovely evening .
0/10
Worst food i have ever experienced. No taste just presentation. Ambience was good, waiting time was issue, very high price
a real treat
we visited the restaurant on our final night in mumbai, having heard it was suitable for vegans. we were delighted. the staff were super helpful and accommodating of our dietary requirements; the ambience was really enjoyable (though we felt a bit under-dressed, having come in from a day's walking around mumbai). we ordered from a set menu - drinks, starters, two mains and dessert - all of which was absolutely delicious and served charmingly. it is definitely expensive for the area, but it really is a gorgeous experience. we're so glad we visited.
Most exciting meal I’ve had for a while
Absolutely loved the flavours in the small plates we shared. A big shout out to the soba noodles with tea leaf pesto, I’ll return for a full plate to myself.
