Delicious small burritos .
Small cozy and friendly atmosphere..Appropriate serving size delicious quesadillas. And very good bottled soda ! This is hearty food and a good lunch stop definitely one for the omnivores in anyone's life. Service is prompt a friendly and courteous.Couldn't ask for more if you're into a meat based diet .
Be the first to ReplyGreat burritos at a great price.
Worst part is limited hours. And yes, the fresh Tortillas are as good as everyone says.

Order at the counter and sit wherever you want inside. No wait when we came. We ordered all of the burritos to try them all! Deshebrada: 5/5, tender juicy meat Frijoles y queso: 5/5, simple but loved the toasted tortilla Con todo: 5/5, tender meat and again, the toasted tortilla was great The rest: 4/5 Overall, this Michelin Gourmand place has really yummy small burritos. Their tortillas are homemade, and you can really tell how fresh they were. Most burritos cost $4.50, which is kind of expensive. I would need 3 of them to feel full.

Great service. Wish it was closer to where we live. Extra words Extra words Extra words
Be the first to ReplyWe love getting food here.
We aren't in the neighborhood that often but we always are glad we order to take home.
Be the first to ReplyThe burrito Birria is absolutely delicious 10/10.
It was my first time ever having anything Birria, the bar has been set very high. The Birria was very flavorful, juices add a great touch to the burrito. The bean and cheese burrito were also excellent. I love that they have small menu so they can focus on the main attractions, the Birria. Also wheelchair accessible if anyone needs to know. There is a ramp in the first door, a maybe 2-3 inch hop into the restaurant. Chairs are tables. Not a great place for a crowd, very few seats available.
Be the first to ReplyWent there hungry after a hike.
First they opened later than advertised. Ordered to go so I had to go back because my order wasn't complete. The service was flat out bad... didn't even get a "sorry for leaving you 1 burrito short and making you drive back..." if anything got a slight attitude. The burritos are small, dry and expensive for what it is. Don't believe the hype.

Haven't been here in awhile and since I was in the area, decided to stop by. The prices have gone up but hey, what hasn't?!? Burritos (which are small and more of a personal size) are now $4.50, quesadillas are $6.50 and there's a combo plate for $14.50. Menu is very limited but that's okay because they can focus on the food they make yummy. Everything was delicious! We had 3 birria, 2 deschenbrana, and 1 chicken. I'd highly recommend this. But be prepared to order at 3 - 4 burritos per person depending on how hungry you are.

This place is so far from where I live but every time I'm on that side of town I stop for the burritos. I always order the combo burritos these are my favorite I order the birria and the carne dessebrada burritos. Every bite is sooo yummy, my mouth waters just thinking about it. They give you salsa and a Chile Serrano to bite. I believe you can now eat inside the location. They have a few table and chairs. Place is clean and the service is great. I've also tried the birria quesadilla and it was as good as the burritos. This is a little hole in the wall and trust me it's always a hit!
Be the first to ReplyIncreased prices and now they charge for salsa.
What was once a weekly dinner destination might become a faint memory. The burritos are small and they recommend three for regular. At these prices, I have to search elsewhere. LA Times wrote up Avila's El Ranchito as a Readers Favorite.
Be the first to ReplyI LOVE THIS SPOT.
I first tried them at smorg in LA & I've been a fan since . However, every time we come to this location , the lady at the window ALWAYS seems rude . First and foremost , they have a VERY LIMITED menu . I've never stepped foot inside , I notice on their outside window it had other food advertised but they front window it's just a few things so I'm not sure if the menu if different or ? Anytime we ask for extra salsa , or a Chile it's always a bother or an issue . I don't even like to ask anymore & I just tell my bf to pay for the large order to save the confrontation . Once I asked for chips and they said they didn't have that . Another time I asked for a cup of ice for my pup and they also didn't offer that there . So basically don't ask for anything beside what you're ordering and you're good ! Beside the attitude we get , I still come here because I love their little burritos !! The chicharron is delish , the potato meat one bomb , and the regular Birria is sooo good . I absolutely love their salsa it's so fresh ! & their tortillas are just yum
Be the first to ReplyI saw this place was listed on the LA Times best restaurant
I saw this place was listed on the LA Times best restaurant list and decided to give it a try. Very much worthy of its spot on that list (which is a very tough list to get on). They have a little parking lot but there was also parking available on the street. There is a window where you order with a very friendly worker and the food was out very quick. The menu is pretty small but you can get burritos with different various meats in it. Birria I think is their speciality, so I got one of those as well as a Chicken Tinga and Chicharron. All of them bursting with a lot of great flavor. They are burritos as everything is wrapped up in a tortilla but they are much smaller than a typical burrito so that is why you get 2 or 3. The tortillas you can tell are fresh and in house and they accompany the meat perfectly. Certainly worthy of your time.

Ordered shredded beef and shredded chicken plus potatoes in both. AMAZING!!!!!!! The sizes are small but they are awesome.
Be the first to ReplyTried the Birria burrito very good flavor and juicy.
Also tried the chicharron burrito very spicy and juicy. The burritos are small so you definitely need 2. 4 stars is about right

Ever since I tried this place at Smorgasburg, I fell in love with it! We got food from here to go and the food was still amazing when we ate it at home! We got birria burritos and a birria quesadilla and they were both delicious! This place does not disappoint! Ask for extra salsa and dip your burrito in it. JUICY and delish!

The birria burritos are really great, however I wish they offered goat birria in their burritos rather than the beef. I ordered every burrito from them and really like the beef and potatoes the most. Prior to inflation affecting everything, their burritos for the price were the best deal in town. I recommend trying the restaurant out if you're ever in the area.
Be the first to ReplySo good! Taste just like homemade.
The food portions are small so make sure to order plenty. The tortillas are made fresh with no preservatives and the salsa is wonderful! I usually order the bean & cheese burritos.

I really wanted to like this place because its a small family owned business. Burritos are just ok. They are very small for the price. You have to stand outside and wait for your order. Since Covid they haven't opened the dining area.
Be the first to ReplyThis place is YUMMMMM! It's a little hole in the wall.
Inside dining is not available. You order from this little window and has a very limited menu. Almost all the burritos are $3.95. I ordered 6 beef and 6 chicken and 1 chicarron. Loved the beef and chicken but the chicarron was not my favorite so I won't be ordering that again. The salsa was a little spicy for me but had a good flavor. The burritos are good but it's a little expensive at $3.95 since they are pretty small. I easily ate 3 burritos which would be equivalent to a big burrito at regular Mexican restaurants. I would recommend eating here but don't expect big stuffed burritos.

So I went to try out this place cause supposedly it was real gooood. I looked at the pics and it didn't seem like it was anything extraordinary. So I ordered 2 burritos-one birria and one shredded beef for 2 of us. I went to pick them up and I didn't realize how tiny they make them...hence the $3 something price for each. So I ordered another set and took off. Didn't realize until I got to work that they messed up one of the sets as they gave me beans and cheese and no birria. You only have 4 types to choose from...how do they mess it up? So I ate what I got and wasn't impressed.

I had the delicious slender burritos today but they handed my food and not drinks and I left! The mild birria one was fantastic and the chicken tinga very good with just a little kick, not too much for my friend who likes mild. I bought a pack of tortillas too since they make their own. I didn't see Taquitos on the menu like in some pics or I would have gotten them. Oh, they have a very simple and tasty salsa. They included two raw slender whole chiles in my order. Bigger than serrano's but not shaped like jalapenos. Thanks very much, I'll use those when I make something to put in my flour tortillas. They are not opening the inside dining so it is to go only. I saw quite a few people trying the doors. There is literally no place to eat. Luckily I didn't eat in the car because the beef is juicy and it dripped a lot including on my pants. I got 2 but could have eaten 3, which makes it a bit more costly than I'd like. One is a snack. But I'll be back.
Be the first to ReplySome of the best tacos (mini burritos basically) in SoCal.
The fresh tortillas are amazing and the meats are juicy. I stop here all the time because I crave them. The salsa is great too.

quite literally the best thing ive ever eaten in my entire life lives here. unique burritos (small-ish, no beans, just meat). i always order the birria burritos- they pack a mindblowing amount of flavor. the tortillas also have a nice toothiness and are made in-house. bonus points if you get the platillo especial- they smother the burritos in a delicious, savory sauce.

Okay!!!! You have to try the shredded beef burrito my whole review changed just in this burrito. Soooo good. I wish the salsa they serve it with was better but so yummy if your craving a simple shredded beef burrito.

Yes. Tiny burritos with beans and cheese are a must. Takes about 3-4 to get full! They no longer serve chips or sandwiches/tortas. NO seating available, parking is limited, the inside is closed.
