Terrible Service
Terrifying service from the manager and the waiters, they did not take into account the customer's requests, according to them they have operated like this for 40 years and they are not going to change their policies The cocktails were terrible, they served an aperol spritz and it didn't have aperol, they ordered a negroni with Gin Monkey 47 (they didn't have them) they ordered a Don Julio Reposado margarita (they didn't have them) the drinks were terrible and the manager and the Argentine innkeeper removed him from the table without offering anything in return Additionally, we dropped a glass of wine on the tablecloth and we asked to change it. and the innkeeper got upset saying that it was impossible, that their 40-year-old policies allowed them to place a white napkin on top of the tablecloth to cover the stain, and that's what they did... I don't understand how a restaurant with so much rating has such simple and elementary flaws with customer service where you charge up to 25% of the invoice amount

Tucked away, this gem served us a wonderful meal with Juan doing a great job to ensure our complete satisfaction. Very comfortable and timing was great from appetizer to dessert.

I have to say this was the worst service in Aspen. No apologies from management staff and very overpriced. I have been to Aspen many times and I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone.
Be the first to ReplyEXCELLENT
Cache Cache is always the best food, wine and cocktails! Every single dish is delicious! The beet salad and vegan entree were amazing. My nephew had the lamb liver entree and loved it…. Of course the desserts were also delicious~
Be the first to ReplyDelicious creme brûlée & Lamb Chops
Amazing lamb chops and creme brûlée! Must try when in Aspen! Their Serrano infused pineapple margarita are so delicious! We were greeted by Jodi, the owner and her entire friendly staff went above and beyond to offer us superb customer service.

Let’s be clear, the food here is fancy and great. But they are proud of it….. $84 for the scallop special. 3 scallops. $78 for the Ecuadorian shrimp. 4 shrimp. Also, they let us book a 6pm reservation, but it was obvious they wanted our table turned. Cleared plates the second we took the last bite (or before) and there was no question that another glass of wine or cup of coffee was not going to be popular. We felt very rushed. It’s hip and cool and all that, but I think there are many other Aspen spots that can match the food and atmosphere without all the ego.

Always been a great place and always have had a great meal. The people here are great and the food is even better. Would recommend it to anyone.

I go to Aspen for the past 35 years. This place used to be good. The owner mas the french sommelier trying to rush our table as we want to have a family time. DONT GO THERE. NOT A NICE SPPTTO BRING.YOUR FAMILY.
Be the first to ReplyA COVID Petri dish
Although Aspen restaurants are required to have the staff wear masks due to serious COVID issues, this very expensive restaurant did not have anyone wearing a mask, except for the bartender.
At the front of the restaurant, three ladies greeted me with no sneeze barrier or masks. After being seated the waiter (unmasked) and busperson poured water and handed us the menus.
Cache-Cache is a superspreader event in slow motion.
COVID served here
I was there Friday night, December 17 and had to leave as not one staff person was wearing a mask… the restaurant is a superspreader event as waiters hostesses busy men manager and sommelier was not wearing a mask.
I stayed for 5 minutes with my mask
On and took pictures…& left
The owner/manager did not care
Thus place should be shut down
Amazing
The food here is simply amazing. Every dish was perfect. Great service and wonderful wine selection. Not to be missed

We've been going to Aspen for years. Summer/Winter. Haven't been in a little over a yr and have eaten a few times in the past here. Food has always been just OK. We love going to Campo di Fiori next door more. On this trip we booked dinner out every night. Had a 7:45pm res here. We arrived on time and it was pretty empty. Few tables outside and the inside was empty besides one table in the corner. Bar had a few customers. There were two hostesses. We go to check in and showed a table in the back corner by a closet with curtains. We ask politely to sit outside or closer to the doors or bar area, the outside which was fairly empty as well, with dinners finishing up, but plenty of empty tables. They said wait a moment. One of the hostesses went outside and came back and told us it would be a 45 min wait with an attitude. We decided to go to a much better busier restaurant Casa Tua and although they were packed and we didn't have a reservation they were professional and nice enough to fit us in. Atmosphere, food and the people running the floor make a difference. This all said. We love Aspen love all the restaurants and only here did we feel bad attitude and rudeness .. As we walked back to our hotel after dinner and passed Cache Cache, it was still empty. I guess the early bird special crowd filtered out.
So many amazing places to eat I'd pass on this place. Food has just been ok and the no longer the a hot spot. Just rude and obnoxious hostess. why?
Great food, warm wine
The good: Escargot and crab starters were standouts. Got a slightly oxidized wine perfect with foix grais. The roast chicken and lamb gnocchi mains were perfect bistro fare.
The bad: don’t order any wine by the glass. We all ordered very different dishes so it was hard to choose one bottle. They all tasted like warm, stale grape juice. You’ve got to have your wine by the glass the same temp as you would any nice bottle.
Overpriced and underwhelming
I have been coming to Aspen for 30 years, and have dined at Cache Cache before. Over the years, I've had a good meal there once or twice, and have been disappointed more than a few times. At this price point, I expect a higher level of service and quality than Cache Cache delivers. Tonight, for example, I ordered the king crab risotto appetizer for $35. The crab had a fishy flavor, and there were multiple pieces of crab shell in the dish. I mentioned it to the waiter, and he said he would inform the chef. Nobody followed up with me, and there was no adjustment on the check, so I assume the chef was too busy collecting everybody's cash cash to ensure that I was happy and satisfied.
My daughter liked her $75 sea bass enter, but my trout milanese was ordinary, and not a very nice presentation.
So, overall I would say that Cache Cache is overpriced and inconsistent for the experience, and I won't go back. I have felt ripped off after eating there one too many times. I also ate at Aqualina and Matsuhisa during this visit to Aspen, and while they were equally as expensive (or more so) than Cache Cache, I left satisfied, and felt that the experience was commensurate with the price. Not so at Cache Cache. There are a number of better options in Aspen.
Wasnt impressed, despite a few bright spots.
We were here on Sunday night, our second night in Aspen. Overall, I didnt love it and thought it was just overpriced for what it was. I thought the bar was beautiful and can imagine that in non-covid times it would be a lively place and somewhere I'd like to linger for a drink. WE were greeted promptly and taken to our table by a friend host. The dining room was just unmemorable. It was neither here nor there with decor - a big yellow room. Service started off well enough, but by the end of our meal it was non-existent. The warm bread was an absolute highlight - we all loved it and asked for more. I had a very good beet salad to start and the half chicken, which was unremarkable. One friend had the foie gras terrine which I tried and thought was good, as well as the trout, which was good as well. Another friend had the chicken too. Overall, what turned me off was that the prices just seemed really steep while the quality did not match the prices. And the service kind of fell flat towards the end. I had high expectations and they werent matched. I will say that the hostess who bid us farewell at the end was a bright spot - very friendly. Had she been our waitress - or her enthusiasm been utilized by our waiter - I might have a different impression. There are many great restaurants in Aspen so I probably wouldnt return here.
Be the first to ReplySo Far, Our Favorite Restaurant in Aspen
My wife & I have eaten here twice in the last two weeks. On our first visit, we started with a Beat Salad and a Frisée Salad. Based on a recommendation from the friends that we dined with, we both ordered Colorado Lamb Chops for our entries. We agreed that the chops were the best we’d ever had. We ordered bottles of White Burgundy for our starters and Châteauneuf-du-Pape for the entrees from the expansive wine list. We shared two desserts; Chocolate Mousse and Chocolate Chip Cookies. Both were delicious!
On our second visit last night, my wife again had the Beet Salad and Lamb Chops. Entering the restaurant, I saw a double-cut Pork Chop being served that looked so appetizing. I ordered the King Crab Salad special app and the Pork Chop. We had a bottle of 2009 Bordeaux which sang with the meat. The Pork Chop was the best I’ve ever eaten. It was cooked to a perfect medium rare and was so tender to both cut and chew. We passed on dessert last night as we were both full.
As much as we’ve been to many of the higher end restaurants in Aspen, we’ve not been to all of them. Even though Cache - Cache is expensive, at $400+ for dinner for two, depending on wine, up til now, Cache - Cache is both our favorite and worth it.
