Café China 傾國傾城 New York Reviews from The Last Year
The Best Chinese food this side of the Ocean!
Our go to Chinese restaurant when we visit NYC. And Elvis our server is friendly and helpful and we love his attitude. The cocktails are incredible. Try the in the mood for love. Also start with the spicy cucumbers which are a real treat. The shrimp dumplings are the best and use very high quality shrimp. We tried the tea smoked duck and were not disappointed and the eggplant and string beans were fresh and tasty. The shrimp and sausage fried rice is the stand out here and dont miss out on the green tea ice cream and mochi. Every dish we tried was a unique experience and we can't wait to come back.
Enjoyed dinner here!
We hadn't booked & there were no tables available in the restaurant, so we decided to eat at the bar & it was fine. The menu is extensive & the food was very good - tasty & freshly cooked. The staff behind the bar were very pleasant & helpful. Would go back if I was in the area.
Horrible Experience at Cafe China, NYC
My family and I were in NYC for a medical conference and 3 days of sightseeing. We had read reviews on Cafe China and their Michelin Star history until 2019, so we decided to visit. BAD DECISION. Their service was less than desired. Food was generally horrible with 4 plates so oversalted, they were inedible. My guess is the chef that earned the Michelin’s left in 2019-2020 and the new chef is horrible. I could not ever recommend this place in good conscience.
Poor quality food.
First visited this restaurant in 2017 when it was at its very basic previous location and had a well deserved Michelin star. The food was amazing. Having now moved to a larger more central location we booked again. What a disappointment we had. It has obviously lost its Michelin star and I can totally understand why. The starters were barely warm but very nice. The two main dishes we had were a chicken dish and a beef dish. The chicken was full of gristley bits and the beef was very thinly sliced grey/brown coloured beef which was tasteless. I think the move to a bigger and better premises and location has resulted in the restaurant losing its way and focus in relation to the quality of the food.
Excellent eperience
Great spot, I walked in because it was very close to my hotl and I was tired. Really good Szechuan food, and the waiter was very patient and made good suggestions. I had pork dumplings followed by fried shrimp. All this with some interesting wine from Boznia. I hope I get to go back there again.
Best Chinese in New york
The best Chinese I have ever had in New York fantastic food also great for a vegetarian the Dim Sum is a must.
Alright authentic Chinese cooking
Heard this place was good so I went. The food didn't disappoint but it didn't blow me away either. One of the dishes we ordered was seasoned well but a couple others not so much. Portion sizes are generous and the price is good. Still, the experience felt not too different from home cooking. The atmosphere is very good though.

Mostly from people who don't need their reservations or appointments any longer. AT has no relationship with places listed and acts as a platform connecting buyers and sellers making sure that listed reservations are real and that privacy is not compromised when transacting.

Can come from a lot of places, people who don't want to get charged their cancellation fee or people who just have them and cant go.

almost all restaurants aren't affiliated with AT and I'm guessing it's mostly people wanting to not pay cancellation fees.
