Best experience to see capybaras!
We traveled from Singapore all the way to this cafe. My daughter is soooo happy to see real capybaras. They are soooo cute and adorable. The food is good and the service is excellent. Was the travel worth it? Definitely!!!
Caring staff. Good visit for capybara lovers
My partner really wanted to visit this location whilst we were in Tokyo and were lucky to get a reservation , a requirement , within a few days. Once you arrive you wait upstairs until there’s space for you to sit in the actual cafe but the length of time remains the same , it only starts when you’re spending time with the capybaras of which they are 2. The staff seem to put a lot of care in the keeping of them, as we had someone in our session try to move their food so it would move towards them and this was corrects by staff in a polite manner and their pen area was cleaned at least 5 times in the time we were there. You get a lot of time with them and the staff can take photos so overall she loved it!! The coffee was slightly bitter which was the only downside , you are required to buy a drink per person and optional to buy some snacks to feed them but during their time there’s food available for free to feed them. If you love capybaras you will love this place.
Happy Capy time
I was planning a trip to Japan and my sister really wanted to get up close and personal with Capybaras! So I stayed up until 1am Sydney time, and quickly booked on the website when it ticked over midnight in Tokyo. You need to book 14 days out from your visit. The cafe is in a cute lane -- a lovely small terrace and it is a calm and peacful place as they do not over-book. Everyone gets a little time with the capybara and its a happy experience. Staff are kind and gentle. I really enjoyed our visit.
Great experience for one time in your life! A bit expensive
I liked the experience a lot, it is wonderful to be close to the capybaras and learn a bit more about them by asking the workers there. They seem to be happy and well taken care and they are very cute! They are respectful with the people and they love to come to you and that you pet them. The barmen were very nice and they give you time to read the rules to know how to act in front of them capybaras. The drink I got was pretty good. Unfortunately I think it is a lot of effort (money and booking time) for what it is. It is to be done once in life and that's it. It is necessary to pay an entrance fee + drink (obligatory) + vegetables for the capybaras. You can book 2 weeks in advance but the website or Instagram doesn't inform at what time the registrations open, so you have to be checking the whole day. Moreover, the café is not close to any interesting area of Tokyo, so you are 30 minutes in the café but 1 hour on the way to there!
Just don't bother
Very bad website. We've been trying to book a spot for 3 days and it is always the same story: we try to book at 8am, we choose the spot, but than we receive error messages. I've tried to access from different gadgets and the error continues. I went there in person to talk to them, try to book in person, but all they say is "I'm sorry" (meaning "I don't care, after all, they are lucrative). It is very disappointing.
Great cafe
It was a great experience. The staff is very friendly and the cafe is nice. The capybaras are very friendly and seem very well taken care of. You do have to get there early to get on the wait list though. They don’t take reservations.
Neat experience!
Super fun experience to hang out with the cabybaras. They were sweet! Only issue is no booking mechanism so you have to get there prior to opening and book a time slot for that day on the slot. It pooches your whole day basically.
