I had dinner here recently. Totally overpriced. Bad service.
Firstly they showed us all the specials written on a blackboard. The good: all the dishes and prices were clearly listed. The bad: the waiter proceeded to read every single item from the board. Annoying.
We ordered several items. The branzino was excellent but expensive while the Vodka Martini was perfect and potent.
The pasta? A disgrace! I ordered the Penne Arrabiata. So overpriced. $29 for a small serving. Probably $1 per penne! But it was tasteless and like eating cardboard. Finding a server to whom I could complain was challenging. When I asked for the manager suddenly the waiter's service improved. I explained my dissatisfaction with the penne and he willingly replaced it with tagliatelle pomodoro. The tagliatelle itself was good, but it arrived drowned in tomato sauce. It was like having tomato soup with pasta inside.
This restaurant is a typical UES Italian restaurant trapped in a 1980 time warp. Great atmosphere and comfortable seating. Sadly the food did not bear any resemblance to Italy.
