Fun dining for a celebration!
Celebrating a 70th birthday while visiting on Oahu for a few days. Wanted to do something special and this filled the bill. Nine of us enjoyed food and conversation for three hours. Great food and service; highly recommend.

When you tire of the prevalent dining options this is a good place for the evening meal. Service was NOT attentive and mostly disappointing. 3 of us had lamb dishes and all were good especially the honey sauce. Chicken dish was very good and had dates. Small place.

Best sit down Moroccan food complete with bread, soup and a huge plate of salad, pureed eggplant, sesame seed, and carrots. The second course should be dessert, phyllo dough wrapped with chicken and powdered sugar. BYOB and mint tea is served as well as rose water sprinkled over ones face and head.

Six of us met for dinner at Casablanca. They opened the doors promptly - but not before - 6:00 PM. We were greeted by a very friendly waitress and seated at two tables, which we were invited to push together. The two youngest in the group sat on the pillows, which although quite high, are still lower than the couches on which the rest of us sat. (I don't think that either my wife or I could have arisen again if we had been seated on the pillows!)
One chooses only the main course. All of the other courses other than desssert were outstanding. We opted for the rack of lamb, which was delicious and in a very large portion. The only thing that we did not find outstanding was the dessert, which was quite sweet and very sticky.
The service was by two ladies who remained very busy. Service was a bit spotty, with our having to ask for some things more than once. They do wash your hands between some courses.
The restaurant is BYOB with a $2.50 per person corkage fee.
We definitely will return!
Simply delicious food and the nicest employees!!
OH my — such a lovely evening. Our family eat at Casablanca to celebrate my husband’s birthday and it was amazing. Our server was so friendly and helpful in answering our questions. We started with the lentil soup which was warm and tasty. Next came the salads which were so yummy!! The hummus and baba ganoush was delicious!! I ordered the lamb with prunes and my husband ordered the rack of lambs. Both dishes were cooked perfectly and wonderful — the spices were not at all overpowering and the chef had an amazing touch with both types of the lamb!! We also really loved the dessert — sticky funnel cake and biscotti. All in all, a fun and fabulous meal — I would definitely recommend this restaurant the next time you in Kailua!!
Be the first to ReplyFun night, good food but admittedly not for everyone.
Sit on pillows, eat with upur hands, try foods you’ve never had before- if any of these things bother you go someplace else. If you want good food and an evening of fun eat here.

The Casablanca restaurant in Kailua did a pretty darn good job of bringing back memories of our trip to Morocco.
They offer a pre fixed menu that costs $45 per person. Our meal lasted just under 2 hours, it was well paced.
The chicken bastilla was very tasty, we enjoyed it very much, yet I found myself missing pieces of chicken meat, in their recipe they used ground chicken instead of shredded meat.
The lamb tagine was not presented in a tagine as we are accustomed to. And maybe I am not remembering correctly however I thought that every time I have had a tagine it has been served with rice, it is not here...however, you don't really need it as we left full and content. That aside, the lamb tagine was fabulous! As was the chicken with preserved lemons.
The chef does an excellent job of preserving the lemons and making salt cured olives. I have not had salt cured olives that good in the USA ever.
Don't forget to BYOB, fee is $2.50 pp.
I recommend that your whole party either sits on the bench or the cushions as they are not equal to each other and it can be awkward.
Step into a Place of Magic.
Superb ambiance, great staff, fabulous food and some special service. One of the best Moroccan sets I have eaten.
