Recently celebrated my mother's birthday here.
The owner, manager, and staff were all incredibly accommodating, warm, and welcoming. We had a private cozy room downstairs called "La Cantina" and it is really something special. The food was delicious and plentiful. Thank you for making a special evening!

I had a delicious lemon drop then the lobster ravioli which was Fabulous. My husband had the classic chicken parmesan and it was delicious. We followed with cappuccino and creme brulee which was also great.

I arrived with a guest at 6PM on the Wednesday after Christmas. Normally a quiet time to eat. The restaurant was packed - tourists. The tables were so close together an gentleman at another table had to stand, push his chair to the side to let another customer get past. We were advised that we HAD to order our appetizer and entree at the same time as the restaurant had over 100 tables on three floors. I am at a loss to understand how that was my problem. We had more than one waiter serving us. We had ask four times for lemon for water. No one seemed to notice or care that our water glasses were empty. While the food was good, based on the above, and the noise level I would NOT return. Good thing NYC has a lot of tourists.

Food is amazing but the Nascar Pit Crew vibe of the restaurant ruins everything. I have only been moved along like this experience at a KFC or McDonalds. Staff is force feeding the patronage at a pace the FDA should investigate as it is definitely cruel and unusual. Go somewhere else, they only want the tables to turn and you can get better experience at walk up pizza joints.
Be the first to ReplyI came here for a work dinner.
The place was larger than I expected with two floors and many private rooms. There was a coat check but not many restrooms. I ordered the tre color salad (arugula, endive, radicchio, spiced walnuts, pears, goat cheese, dried cherries) and the lobster ravioli. We also had appetizers (seared tuna with avocado, calamari, bruschetta, etc). The food was pretty good, really enjoyed the lobster ravioli and the seared tuna with avocado. There was a lot of lobster in the ravioli and I really liked the sauce. The tuna was perfectly seared and the balsamic glaze was great. The service was a bit slow but probably because we're a large group. The staff were very friendly and helpful though. I would come back and try other dishes.

While visiting NYC I was craving some good Italian food and all the places I tried to book was booked. Got really lucky with this one and it had some availability. I loved it here. I tried glass of Malbec which was really nice. Service was good and quick. Staff was friendly. In food I had Tri Fungi Risotto and it was delicious. Had a perfect balance of taste. This place overall is a good option for casual hangout with friends/family as well as dates. Ambiance is great, food is nice and service is quick would definitely recommend. P.S. I see there are lot of reviews about this place being relatively expensive and it is. But it is a decent restaurant right in the city so I would definitely expect that.

Great ambience delicious food! You cannot go wrong with a spicy make sure you ask
Be the first to ReplyWe have been coming this restaurant for years.
It has always been reliable for good food at a good price. Tonight, we were disappointed to see that that the restaurant had booked a table of THIRTY, in the middle of the room as well as several other tables of 6-8 persons. The noise was deafening and it was impossible to have a dinner conversation with my guest. Yelling across the table is not what you expect from a cozy Italian restaurant. Perhaps what is even more disappointing is that the restaurant refused to own/acknowldege this disastrous decision to book a large group in the middle of the restaurant. While the economic impact of this group is obvious, the restaurant's pursuit of dollars at the expense of atmosphere is disappointing. I am certain that this gourp will never return to the restaurant..... and neither will I !

I threw a birthday get together here for a party of 14 and I have nothing but great things to say! In Manhattan, it's pretty difficult to find dining accommodations for a big group, but Cellini is a hidden gem. They have a private room downstairs that we were hosted at, the food was amazing, and the service was top notch. Servers Luis and Franklin made sure we were well taken care of! We all had so much fun and I will definitely be coming back! I would give this place a 6/5 if I could. PS the seafood pasta was one of the best pastas I've ever had
Be the first to ReplyAverage, ordinary, nothing to write home about.
It's an old school Italian restaurant which is not a bad thing, unless the old school dishes are bland. The spaghetti carbonara was just a bowl of pasta with a little pepper and cheese. There was no smoky flavor or anything to distinguish it as a carbonara dish. The veal parmigiana was lacking in flavor and consisted of two very small pathetic looking slices of meat with a melted slice of mozzarella on each piece. One thing they were very generous with was the wine. The glass I was served with was relatively large and filled up more than halfway. The waiter was nice and did a great job. However, the "hostess" was another story. Let's just say that she won't be winning an award for Miss Congeniality anytime soon. I won't be back.

I haven't been there since my office in NYC closed due to covid but when I went it was always great. I was reminded of this after reading how honest and fair Chef Dino is when treating customers! We need to support fair and honest owners like him. Will be back soon.Ciao Michael

The other evening my good friend and I had a wonderful holiday dinner at Cellini. The restaurant is very cozy and beautifully decorated for the holiday season. I arrived a little early and the staff was very kind in allowing me to wait at the bar. We were then seated in the upper level of the restaurant. The tables were set up so that everyone could be socially distanced. We enjoyed a delicious meal encompassing octopus, prosciutto, tuna, risotto, and more. Between our meal and desert, we relaxed and enjoyed our wine. The staff was attentive and kind. It was a lovely evening out and I look forward to having more meals here.
Be the first to ReplyI have been going there for over 20 years.
The food and service is excellent. Great party room upstairs as well. It's like dining with family when they get to know you... a hidden gem

Delightful! I got the pasta bolognese which was such a treat. Our prosciutto app and the yummy bread slices were great to whet our appetites, and the chocolate mousse cake for dessert was so rich. Great service-- our waiter was friendly, attentive and never let our water glasses go empty.
Be the first to ReplyCellini Restaurant is really really unique and awesome.
I don't want to leave because of the atmosphere. Pretty much every menu item that we ordered was extra fresh and flavorful. Crew is extremely polite and definitely will help you with anything. Thank you! Will be back soon!

Ordered the chicken parmesan and was met with a $27 thin, rubbery cutlet with almost no flavor. The service was equally abysmal. I saw my server when he took my order and brought my food, and then never again. I had to flag down someone different after waiting for 15 min to get the check.

The veal Milanese, eggplant parm, penne alla vodka, and tiramisu were all amazing. The service was a little slow, but in a good way--they left us alone to take our time and enjoy our meal. Would love to come back here.
Be the first to ReplyVery very good food.
The scaloppine Marsala has so much flavor and is way more filling than it looks. I ate at the bar and the service was great.
Be the first to ReplyTo start they give you fried bread which is really good.
It's kind of oily and has a sweet garlic crust with a crunch to it but soft on the inside. To start I had the Cesar salad which couldn't havee been better. The lettuce can only be described as juicy and the dressing was perfectly seasoned as well. Unfortunately it all went wrong at thE main course. I ordered the spaghetti carbonara and could have done a better job myself. There wasn't much bacon and it didn't have much flavor. The sauce was a liquid that accumulated at the bottom so it was basically plain noodles with a piece of pancetta in there every now and then. They put a little bit of cheese on it and you can ask for more but frankly they would have been there forever trying to make that pasta have enough cheesse because it hardly had any to start. I expected much more from an Italian restaurant in New York. Especially because I asked the waiter to help me decide between two dishes and hE said the Carbonara was really good. Overall definitely wouldn't recommend unless you want some bread and a salad
Be the first to ReplyVery cozy restaurant with good food and good service.
