Chai Pani is gorgeous on the outside and inside! I went with a coworker and we ordered an array of dishes based on recommendations of our server and they were pretty tasty. I enjoyed the fried okra, the garlic naan and the chilli chicken.
Easily one of my favorite restaurants in the union market.
From inside out the restaurant is visually stunning and the aroma of food hits you from the doors. We opted to sit at the bar for our meal and they were able to accommodate seating my friend and I together. We started with the tamarind cola and jal

The place is packed and usually has a waiting list so glad we had reservations. Our server, Chris was very attentive and polite. We tried a bunch of things but the SPDP, vada pav and bhel was the pick of the lot! The decor can be little overwhelming

Absolutely stunning restaurant! Chai Pani bursts with color, energy, and flavor -- vibrant floral decor draping from the ceiling, bright hues everywhere, and Bollywood and Bhangra beats spilling out into the street. The whole place just feels joyful.
Service was good.
Appetizers were good - we liked the kale chat, spdp, and okra fries. Entrees were not very good (chili chicken too oily, other dishes not tasty). Chai was good. The decor and ambience is nice. This is a good place for chai and chaat, but not dinner f
