Just ate a prix fixe lunch and was extremely impressed!
Just ate a prix fixe lunch and was extremely impressed! We both had the King Salmon, 1 octopus app and one French onion soup followed by chocolate cake and NY cheesecake. Everything was perfectly prepared, super fresh and amazingly delicious. We had white wine and red and both were excellent. Serafino, our waiter, provided us with seamless, outstanding service and very much added to the enjoyable meal. Can't wait to go back!

First time here at Charlie Palmer Steak - New York! The service was extraordinary! Oscar (our bartender) was amazing! Superior service! He made us feel at home, engaged in our conversation and his recommendations are top tier! I highly recommend this place for any locals or visitors! Great location right next to Bryant Park / Times Square. I am definitely coming back!

I came to Charlie Palmer Steak for a work team lunch and we all greatly enjoyed our meals from the $54 3-course lunch menu. I did notice that the online lunch menu wasn't exactly the same as the menu I was given at the restaurant, which appeared to be because the online version hadn't been updated for the fresh catch of the week. I'm pescatarian, so I was excited to try the fish options. I'm happy to report that they surpassed my expectations!I enjoyed their fresh take on tuna tartare, which came deconstructed with cut tuna pieces, a green goddess sauce in the middle, and crisps on the side. My team members and I were impressed with the presentation of our appetizers. Others enjoyed the French onion soup, wedge salad, and lobster bisque, the latter of which is first presented as lobster meat on top of a very small tartine and then the bisque is poured into the bowl tableside. The only complaint was that one of us ordered their steak frites entree cooked medium, and it arrived objectively cooked medium rare. For my entree, I ordered the fresh catch of the week, black sea bass. It was indeed very fresh and the toppings - "caraflex cabbage, broccoli rabe pesto, savory jus" - complimented the fish very well. For dessert, I had the fresh berries (strawberries, raspberries, blackberries) which came with a perfectly sweet but not too sweet homemade whipped cream. For a heavier dessert, the cheesecake and three-layer chocolate cake were well-liked. This is a pricey restaurant, but the food is definitely high quality!

I had a business meeting with 7 people at NASDAQ so we stopped her for dinner. Great selection, everyone got what they wanted. They were very helpful in picking out a great wine and recommended deserts for the table that were so good they almost caused a knife fight. I loved my steak and everyone at the table commented positively about the food and atmosphere.

I am giving it 5 stars because my two experiences in the past surpassed my expectations and as a business owner it would be unfair for the business to be penalized for the manager and the waiter whose service was not shabby. Unfortunately my favorite waiter was not there to take care of me and even though the restaurant was not very busy the experience was not great I was challenged about the tip by a bald heavyset waiter. The manager did not bother to pass by or I would have definitely brought it to his attention, while in the past on both occasions he had and we had a great conversation about what shows were a must watch. Not sure if the staff and manager has changed but did not see either of them. The lobster pasta which I love was a little too oily but otherwise it was a delicious meal ribeye cooked perfectly and the Brussels sprouts amazing. Sadly the place was off it's game and the waiter demanding a tip left a bad taste.

A fairly-recently opened steak house in the heart of Times Square. Staff are friendly when they are attentive but their overall service is for sure very slow. The price for drinks are definitely on the pricier side and it is not worth it. Soda should not be more than $4-$5 dollars at a steakhouse. Manhattan is $18 for like 2 sips. For this reason, it already made Charlie Palmer disappointing compared to other steakhouse. There is definitely room for improvement when it comes to drink pricing (cappuccino is $8 btw, and it was just straight foam) and how often your server should check up on you. On the other hand though, the food is great. The quality of the bison tartare is worth ordering. The brussels sprouts was surprising sweet but since we ordered a bunch of steak that was salty, it was an okay balance. My favorite meat from Charlie Palmer would probably be the Dry Aged Bone-On New York Strip and the Prime Dry Aged Porterhouse for 2. I have experienced better Steak House. Charlie Palmer is good for a quick fix if you just want some steak. Harold's Famous Coconut Cake at the end for dessert is probably the most worth is item on the menu, definitely get that if it is still available.

Definitely not the most impressive steakhouse I've been to but it was still quality! My friend and I were able to get a 7:15pm reservation pretty last minute, even with parts of the restaurant booked out for 2 company holiday parties (the restaurant is massive). It's a good spot for a nice birthday celebration, anniversary/date, or any fancier occasion.FOOD:I give the Bone-On Black Angus Ribeye (medium rare) a 10/10-- I thoroughly enjoyed it. It was very juicy, tender, and our slice wasn't overwhelmed with fat. King Oyster Mushrooms were solid. It's made in a white wine sauce that complemented our steak well.Tuna Tartare was excellent with a little spicy kick to it.We finished off with an order of the Creme Brulee and order of the 3-Layer Chocolate Cake. Both were pretty average to me. The Chocolate Cake was pretty dry, but the scoop of chocolate ice cream on top balanced it out well.SERVICE:Service was 10/10. Waiter was helpful with our questions about the menu and with recommendations. Very engaging and attentive without being overbearing. I appreciated his excitement about our dining experience.

Best meal, service, value and, do I need to SAY food?!? We enjoyed beyond measure EVERYTHING at this amazing pallet's Palace!! Well worth your primary focus for a trip into the "City!" The Lobster Bisque -Sensational crescendo for taste, texture, mingling temperature, flavor, and, yeassss-textures. Served well in A warmed platterish bowl, a gently placed crostini topped with a small mound of cold fresh sweet moist tender-perfectly cooked crustacean- topped with perfectly placed upright tower of flavor rich micro greens. Serving, and assembled table side Completed with a small carafe of indescribable Bisque of a Quality incomparable. My partner ordered black and blue steak Arriving in a state of absolute perfection in both char and center redness. My entree-much the same was served perfectly au poirve and rareish medium, just exactly what I was hoping for! The fries- perfect, as well- and I'm a frites snob! This entire experience- could not have been any more extraordinary- when we noticed a sturdy -standing fellow in a white, making merry with several seated customers.... on his way back into the kitchen, he greeted every employee by name and with genuine kindness. - he stopped by our seating at the bar... We felt like the Stars, rather than the food! We were treated an audience with our Supreme Chef, the man whose name is on the door!! Not only the best meal in the big city---- but having the pleasure of the Meet n Greet was the Best!!! Neither myself nor my dining partner will EVER forego an opportunity to revisit this wonderfully found gem. Service was not just impeccable-conversation and care by our server-bartender was interesting, entertaining and quite noteworthy. Not a single detail of extraordinary dining experience was left to chance... Better than perfection, if there IS such a state. Absolutely seriously Lyrical -this.... and indescribably delicious. The only issue during this sublime dining experience occurred with the paying of our tab. A quick resolve was had when my lunchtime partner went to the loo. Otherwise, there may have been a squabble between us in who was TREATING who to the finest meal we had enjoyed while on our first trip into NYC. Epic ! Not always does one feel like such a Winner in being able to take CARE of the bill. It was truly ALL a pleasure, here at Charlie Palmers!!!!
Be the first to ReplyOscar was fabulous.
We had great conversations, he made great drink recommendations and his drinks lived up to the hype. The food was excellent too.
Be the first to ReplyThey have lunch service now so went for lunch.
Interior was modern and nice. Because it hasn't been long since they started serving lunch, it wasn't crowded and was quiet so I could have a conversation without yelling (problem at lot of steakhouses). So perfect for a business lunch. The server was very nice and although they messed up on a couple of items, they quickly corrected it and gave us 2 free deserts!I ordered the bone-in ribeye which was delicious and not over-seasoned (many steak places over-salt their steaks). My dining companion ordered the bone-in strip which was also well seasoned but was also on the bit drier side. I think Charlie Palmer Steakhouse fits the bill perfectly for a business lunch or dinner. Interior is very nice, you can have a quiet conversation, and food was generally good. I would probably not recommend this place for a date as it's quite conservative and not really a "fun and hip" place.

A beautiful, classic steak house in the heart of Manhattan, great service, great food, an easy walk to most of the theaters. Additionally they have a theater menu available to order by 6 pm. Jason was a total sweetheart. You get to pick the sauce with your steak, they have all the classic sides, and a great wine list. You won't be disappointed if this comes up on your Open Table list and you decide to go for it!

Came here for happy hour with coworkers and sat in their outside patio which was decorated very cute. Our server Ray was a great vibe and provided a solid Rosé bottle recommendation. Good happy hour deals and great service!

This Charlie Palmer Steakhouse was INCREDIBLE!!! Our hostess Rey absolutely gave the best service that I have experienced in years!! Steak, salmon, sautéed spinach, lobster mac and cheese, baked potatoes, cheesecake and the Coconut Rum Punch was amazing!! All the servers were friendly and personable but Rey lead the way!! Will definitely eat there any time I'm in NYC!!

I enjoyed the food and felt nice being there. Right next to Bryant park and easy to get to.

On a visit this past week to NYC, we ate here and it was really good. The best thing was our waiter, Jason. He was so kind and, when he had to tell me he was out of coconut cake, he made sure I was taken care of with a discounted bill. I recommend this restaurant for the food and the staff

Came here for dinner because I previously went to the location in DC and it was top notch. Here in NYC not so much. I got the porterhouse for 2, gratin, & creamed spinach. The steak came out room temperature while the sides were piping hot. Highly disappointed for a steakhouse. Even more disappointed with the service. The waiter offered to take it back to make it hot (kind of bizarre for an upscale restaurant) and did not even apologize. Manager did not touch the table to apologize either. Certainly not worth the price if they can't get the steak right. Will not be going back or recommending this place at all.
Be the first to ReplyMade reservations for a special dinner tonight.
The service was very slow but thankfully it was our last stop for the day. The onion soup was more bread than soup and we mostly wanted something to warm us up-could have shared it and been fine. The ribeye was cooked perfectly and tasted delicious. Unfortunately the sautéed mushrooms were not and were rubbery and over seasoned with nutmeg/allspice. While the lobster Mac and cheese was delicious, the piece of shell that I got was the last but I took. Go for steak, not for the sides.

Old Old School,it looks as if they had not changed a thing in the last twenty years.I wanted the full steakhouse experience, which in a way I got. The thing is service is not great, i mean the waiters are there, the manager swings by but still, there's no one around to get more water or even to ask about the food.I had an Onion Soup which was great, probably the only dish worth going there for... & for $17 it better be good.Don't take me wrong but I feel like meat prices have gone up so much that for them to keep up, have lowered the quality of the steaks they serve. Still an "aged" New York Strip will set you back a good $68 and a ribeye $78 which is a lot but now they will not give you a steakhouse only piece of meat but a Costco bargain, and it feels when you chew on this thing... on top of it they over cooked mine, so a medium steak was fully cooked throughout , and a rare Salmon was also way too done.Final opinion...Times Square Typical Tourist Trap, feel free to skip it.

I came here for Valentines Day, and everything was a 10+ despite all of the negative reviews. The ambiance, the service, and the food were all great. I sat in a side room with about 6 tables away from the main dining room, which felt private and intimate.I had the 4 course pre fixed menu, which was $110 per person and worth every dollar spent. I'm following them on Instagram and kept seeing their lobster pasta in my news feed, and new I had to have it, and Valentines Day was the perfect occasion. It was seasoned beautifully, and the noodles were cooked to perfection. The Gnocchi was also delicious, lite, and flavorful. I washed it down with 2 glasses of prossecco and felt like I was in heaven. And the dessert!!... oh my.. I know I woke up 5lbs heavier after that meal because I ate every morsel. I would definitely stop by again!Ig:@Soooomuchfun
Be the first to ReplyA mix of good and bad for our first dinner here.
3 for the food but 5 for the service and not sure if we'll come backFood:appetizer: roasted bone marrow- avoid like the plague- was incredibly salty and fishy. I took 2 bites of it and my bf had to finish the rest of the entire plate. He didn't enjoy it but it was going to go to waste otherwise. - we were cautioned against it by our waiter, Raymond, but we still wanted to try it because I had good bone marrow before and my bf never had any before. - Raymond asked them to cook it well and make sure it was hot but the fat was still pretty solid inside the bone marrowMain: prime dry aged porterhouse for 2 ($68 pp)- if you look at the picture, it was burnt...i've cooked better steak than this myself! I asked for medium well and at first I felt that it was my own fault for ordering this temperature so that it came burnt. But the char was THICK and a good part of the steak was undercooked, more medium than medium well...indicating that whoever made this steak just didn't cook it well. I could've sent it back but I felt bad.sideshen of woods mushroom- well cooked and seasoned!we ordered some spinach but the order wasn't placed. a bit of a relief because we couldn't finish our steak anywaysDessert: chocolate cake with vanilla ice cream- on the house because Raymond felt bad we didn't like the bone marrow. This cake was amazing - the chocolate ganache on it was perfect and the vanilla ice cream was a great matchWine: we had the house wine and Raymond poured us 2 more on the house.Raymond was friendly and chatted with us throughout the night. It was pretty desolate when we went, probably due to omicron. A note to those wary of covid and to the management - please have all your staff keep their masks on at all times. There were times we saw people lowering their masks to talk, which really defeats the purpose of masking!
