Good Food, Service & Atmosphere..!
Chef Joel's food is excellent and reasonably priced. They also have a variety of dishes. The service was good, and the atmosphere was contemporary elegant. We've been there about 4 times this year and always find the food and service to be very good. Ron & Oksana

Nice place with great food. It is hard to understand why the name has discrepancy between the hotel and trip advisor. We loved our experience, the service was great friendly and the food affordable and excellent. We try two kind of pizzas and starters. The fries were to die for 😋

Tucked away in the lower level of the convention center is this truly wonderful Trattoria. The service staff was excellent, knowledgeable, and friendly. The wine list is extensive and the menu had a great variety of choices. I love Milanese and they had a chicken Milanese which was lovely. The atmosphere here is relaxed and the decor was very charming. One of the best meals I have had in Las Vegas. You must try this place.

Recently replacing Marc Sgrizzi's 6th restaurant in the past decade Trattoria by Chef Joel will soon be reformatting inside the Ahern Hotel, but on Saturday four guests sat down for a look at whats to eat on the tasting menu overlooking an open kitchen. Not a new Restaurant as opposed to basic rebranding, Joel Ott’s name replacing Marc on the marquis in Ahern’s lobby, it is alongside construction curtains that diners will find tables plus a counter suggesting what looks to have previously been a Buffet. Familiar with Ott from the Four Seasons, a pleasant man happy to discuss ideas present and future, Trattoria’s Tasting menu features straight-forward Italian Fare alongside “flights” of Wine that see everything described and poured at once with numbering to pair each with a course. Using a mix of robots and staff to serve, though the counter utilizes Ahern’s culinary team, course one offered a Beets and Burrata Salad followed by Spanish Octopus a bit overcooked alongside crispy Potatoes. Not sure if the Tasting changes frequently, all items served essentially portioned down from Trattoria’s usual list, the “Chicago-style” Calzone impressed all despite criticism from a supposed Deep Dish expert while the Meatball at its side was crumbly thanks to too much cooking time just like the Cheese on top. Improved with housemade Pasta, Osso Buco Ravioli reminiscent of Batali’s famous Beef Cheek version, Chef Ott’s Chicken Parmesan elevates a classic by cooking it extra thin and crispy beneath vibrant Tomato Sauce also served atop Rigatoni. Surf n’ Turf to finish, Prime NY Strip and Wild Shrimp prepared Scampi-style each cooked flawlessly, Dessert may not scream “Trattoria” but it is nonetheless successful with Carrot Cake and Sticky Toffee Pudding both better than most in Las Vegas and Irish Cream Chocolate Mousse Cake an unexpected winner.

This restaurant is in the Ahern Hotel. When we went it wasn’t very busy. We were seated right away and were greeted by our server. It was a leisurely meal. The server was attentive but not smothering. The food was very good. I had the spaghetti and meatball and the meatball was huge. My husband had the chicken Alfredo dish. He felt that there was too much spinach in the dish. For dessert they had some traditional offerings - carrot cake, tiramisu, and cheesecake - as well as some new ones. We went with cheesecake and the carrot cake which were both delicious.

Trattoria by Chef Marc was recommended to us recently while on vacation in Vegas. It is off the strip but worth the visit. The restaurant is big and open. The menu had lots of options and the food was delicious & Service was great. We had the charred Octopus, bufalo caprese salad and the garlic bread - so good. Followed by the homemade pasta with short ribs (deconstructed Lasagna) , the chicken parm with pasta. It was our anniversary and they brought us out a piece of Tiramisu on the house What a great meal

Our favorite restaurant in Las Vegas, tucked into the Ahern Hotel. Relaxing ambiance.and food that never fails to impress!
We started with garlic bread and an appetizer of “Utica Greens”. The garlic bread was perfectly crispy crusted, with a buttery garlic and cheese that perfectly paired with the Utica greens, a delicious appetizer of sautéed escarole, cheese and breadcrumbs, and a little kick of hot peppers. We opted for #2”heat” - just enough spice to enhance the flavor without burning the tastebuds.
Then we moved to the main course - I had chicken parmigiana- a huge, lightly breaded cutlet in a delicious red sauce with what seemed to be several different cheeses which just enhanced the very tender and juicy chicken. The side of pasta was perfect as well. Unlike so many restaurants that plop “naked” pasta on a plate and top with a little sauce, this portion was evenly tossed in sauce and cooked al dente. My husband had the riggies with sausage in a red sauce. The portion was large with an excellent sausage.
We finished the meal with an amazing dessert of cheesecake and homemade chocolate and vanilla gelato. The cheesecake is one of my favorites, but I’ve got to say, the chocolate gelato was so rich and creamy, it was difficult for me not to lick the plate clean - lol!
Service was excellent! We never once had to flag the waitstaff for water or ice tea refills. The wine list is impressive. Yet, despite a very nice crowd, every time we’ve been there, no one hovers over your table as if to hurry you along.
This time we saw a large party celebrating a birthday, several groups of business people, and definitely many couples. The ambiance is very relaxing, and while there’s background music, it’s not so loud you have a hard time carrying on a conversation. All in all a lovely spot to dine.
Diamond in the rough, don’t overlook the gem
Wow. Again, we hadn’t made reservations so we were trying to find where we could get a good dinner before 10pm. This trattoria popped up in a search. We couldn’t figure out why the ratings were high but the reservations we so available. Well…we walked in and it was like a ghost town. Clearly the hotel is in the middle of an owner change and therefore a major renovation (previously a Chinese themed hotel and now Chef Marc is redoing the restaurants). We almost walked but out but as this is wasn’t on the strip it wasn’t like we could walk next door. We decided to view it as an adventure and just enjoy it. Boy did we ever. The appetizer of mushrooms, spinach and cheese far outshone expectations. Wine list wasn’t crazy Vegas extravagant. Clearly they are building their cellar but had solid, solid choices. The caesar salad also surpassed expectations and was delicious dressing with baby gem romaine and plenty of cheese. Entrees were the boar ragu, spaghetti and meatballs and the piece de resistance was the spaghetti and shrimp. WOW! Not just olive oil, garlic and cheese, but they added in some Meyer lemon and it was DELICIOUS. Manager, whose name we didn’t catch, was charming, informative and cared about our experience. Would definitely go again. Will be interesting to see what the lobby looks like next time we go.

This is a good Italian restaurant but I had a few issues during my visit. I ordered the rigatoni with meatballs and Italian sausage, for a side dish I ordered the peas and prosciutto. I had to send back my first order of peas and prosciutto because it was extremely salty. The manager Kenny immediately remedy this issue had dish remade. My main course of rigatoni was extremely flavorful but there were certain parts of the pasta that was very warm and others were not very warm, the overall flavor of the pasta was delicious. The best part of the main course was the meatball, it was cooked perfectly. The meatball was tender and had a lot of flavor. Overall, this was a good meal for the portion size flavor and price. The manager did an excellent job of being attentive to all the customers, other than my slight issues my meal was good.

Your Vegas visit must include dinner here. The food and service were fantastic. We ate at the kitchen counter and watched Chef Marc and his team at work. Chef Marc took the time to explain his dishes and was a wonderful host.

Trattoria by Chef Mark is highly recommended - Excellent Food, Perfectly Prepared, Great Service (even has a Robot Serving Cart), Delightful Ambiance, Constantly changing Menu - Serves Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner. It is one of the hidden Gems in Las Vegas located in the new Ahern Botique Hotel. Every meal we had since finding Trattoria by Chef Mark has been a delightful surprise - reasonably priced with very few pricy items. Top Rate in every way.

This place is off the beaten path, but don’t be fooled. It was some of the best Italian food we have ever had! Chef Marc does a fantastic job with some different dishes. He even stops by your table to check on everything. We had the chaser salad, exceptional, wild boar ad the best chicken riggies you will ever have! Would recommend to anyone who wants to eat someplace off the strip.

We showed up without a reservation and they were full. But they had an option for us to sit at the bar which faced the kitchen with a half wall (plexiglass) between nus and the kitchen staff. We thoroughly enjoyed the experience watching them cook and prepare all of the meals and being able to ask questions about the meals as they made them. Helped my wife make a choice on what she wanted. The head chef, Chef Marc was there and talked many times with us explaining how they did things and even where they got their ingredients.
So I know not everyone would want to sit at a bar or face the kitchen, but for us it was a nice experience.
Delicious Surprise
Our family truly enjoyed our meal here! The food was delicious, and our waiter Caesar was exceptional.
They accommodated the kids by serving smaller portions of pasta with rich Alfredo sauce and spaghetti with one large meatball. My oldest had a shrimp pasta, my husband had a chef specialty, and I enjoyed chicken parmesan. We even tasted and took some gelato to go!
Best restaurant in Vegas
I ate at Chef Marc's after working an event in the building. The first thing you notice is a chef who truly loves the food he creates. We did the tasting table and tried several menu items.Chef Marc made a tagliatelle with oxtail ragu which was amazing. He also made a dish called Uttica greens which was very good. The big surprise for me was the Butternut squash soup. I have never liked squash soup but this was brilliant as well. Made with balsamic and parmesan i actually ate 2 bowls of it. Then the steak pizzaiola to finish the meal. It was a great cut of meat that melted in your mouth with an amazing spaghettini with an amazing sauce. Next comes the dessert sampler. Tiramisu and tiramisu gelato both very good but the coconut gelato is the best of the bunch. The amazing part is the kid who makes the gelato for the restaurant. He is related to Chef Marc and has the same love of food the chef displays.
The added bonus is at the tasting table you get to hear the stories of the food directly from the chef. All in all the best dining experience I have had in Vegas and probably anywhere.
