I am late with this review.
My wife and I were so excited to try this. First off, we were here late September. Our server Alvaro made this experience so fun. We had a salad and pizza pot pie. I would probably ask for only half of the lettuce on the salad because it was messy. D

Seriously don't get the hype.
When going inside they told us it's a few hours wait so ordered to go and still waited a bit. It doesn't look good and just tasted like sauce and cheese. I'm sure there's better places.

This place has been ALL the talk on social media.
They stopped taking reservations a few weeks ago so I was expecting an hour plus wait. We came by around 2pm on a Saturday after visiting the zoo and were shocked that the wait was only 15 minutes. It is pretty cramped inside. It definitely lives up
this is an excellent restaurant.
The pizza pot pie is to die for the only thing I will complain about is that you cannot make reservations and you have to wait, but it is definitely worth the wait!
The service was great.
The ambience is amazing. It's the the perfect place to go for a first date. Very chill atmosphere so that way you can talk and the food was very filling. One pizza was enough for two people.
It was my first time here and it was an experience.
First off bring cash - they do have an ATM inside if cash is needed. The idea of a pizza pot pie was unique. We had the smallest one. Perfect for sharing. It was super tasty. We had so much fun and I enjoyed it. The bread that comes out at the beginn
still good
We remember this place from 40 years ago. It's still fun. Pizza is a bit more watery than our memory, waits certainly not as long, charming service.
Great Pizza alternative you shouldn't miss when in the city.
I like this place for a date night. The cool brownstone look, lighting, and ambiance always feel like you are somewhere only those 'in-the-know' find. I always think I'll try something else, but don't. The Pizza Pot Pie is unbe

After 50 years Chicago Pizza & Oven Grinder is Still New and Exciting
You can’t swing a dead cat in downtown Chicago without hitting a deep dish pizza place. There’s Pizano’s on Madison and Michigan, Uno’s in River North, and Lou Malnatti’s everywhere. (In fact, you can’t swing a dead cat without hitting a

Must try, for ambiance and unique "pizza"
Great unique "pizza" experience. The pizza is more of a pot pie, the half pounder is more than enough if you're getting appetizers. Even then, it's a lot of cheese, so order accordingly. Mediterranean bread is also a great starter
Love the ambiance, service as quick-- Mediterranean bread

The service was 5 stars.
We had a reservation at 5:15 and they were right on time and our waitress was very nice. The food was not my favorite so I was quite disappointed about that because I was really looking forward to it. We split a chef's salad (the dressings were good)
Old school restaurant with wood from the floor to ceiling.
We ordered plain and pepperoni. Pizza pot pie presentation was very impressive. I enjoyed it more than the pizza. The pepperoni comes on the side. 3 pieces were the size of Taylor ham. Omar gave the pot pie a few swirls and popped on our plates. Th

Go for the antipasto and Mediterranean bread! Skip the pizza pot pie.
Best antipasto I’ve ever had, highly recommend it with the Mediterranean bread. As native Chicagoan who loves Chicago pizza - skip the pizza pot pie, I was very disappointed in it.

*CASH ONLY* Fun vibes, friendly service, but definitely not the best pizza I've tried in Chicago. It doesn't mean that it's bad --in fact, it's good. But it's only good until you're quarter of a pizza in, at least it was for me
