Chotto MatteIt's a slow day.
1.15 p.m. and I am the only customer. Left at 2.15 p.m. and I was still the only customer.Entrance - blocked by a long bar table. Most men would have to walk in sideways. Really don't understand this layout. Maybe should go in via the main door which was closed but very naturally I went to the opened door.Air conditioned but I don't understand why the door is open and traffic noise can be heard. This side serves ala carte - sushi, sashimi, starters, mains (wagyu, kurobuta, bars chiraishi, udon, pasta), donburi (fried rice too), rolls and dessert (ice cream, sorbet and mask melon).Ordered a roll - Salmon Aburi - was told it is popular - torched salmon, cucumber, tobiko (small roe) and yuzu mayo - ordinary. Also ordered edamame (green peas) - not salted enough, peas too soft.Other side (next door with separate entrance) serves omakase. That'll be too much for lunch. Been there long ago once. Was not bad. Not expensive.
Be the first to ReplyWorst Japanese restaurant I've ever been to in my life.
If it is not for the friendly waitress I would definitely give it an one star. Everything on the menu was overpriced. I ordered truffle butter chirashi, which cost 45 dollars. It was so bad I can't say a single good thing about it. The little fish cubes were covered in wasabi sauce. I don't know if there was "truffle butter" because the strong taste of wasabi covered any other tastes including the fish. I didn't see any truffle either. It was so spicy I couldn't even eat it. The rice was also very bad. Dry, hard and no taste. I don't know what kind of sushi rice it was. Can't believe I paid 45 dollars for this. I will never ever come back.

The $42 Chirashi was the worst that I have ever seen in my life, it was soaked in a wasabi tasting sauce despite being named truffle butter Chirashi. The wagyu was ok but not worthy of the name and it was served on some wilted (old) greens. Honestly I'm not sure this place should exist, it doesn't justify its price, it doesn't justify the space it occupies, and I would never recommend anyone go there. Ever.
Be the first to ReplyI was there on a public holiday evening for omakase.
According to the boyfriend it was not difficult to book the slot, he booked it a night before the dinner. We went for the 188 bucks per pax set. It's pricey but boy do they serve quality sashimi. Every single piece tasted delicately sweet and fresh. The chef paired some of the dishes with truffle slices. It was my first time having a chirashi don with decent truffle slices and the match was unique and refreshing. There was supposed to be 8 dishes but we were so full that we had to miss the last one out. The dessert was a handmade pumpkin ice cream with bits of hardened caramel mixed in, presented together with mini lava cakes. Another plus point since neither of us has ever tasted pumpkin ice cream. Service was superb, the chef went round to strike up conversations with every guest for the whole omakase experience. Very hospitable crew overall.
Be the first to ReplyFANTASTIC service.
The people here are so nice and friendly. BAD: Hotel prices for a hole in the wall. I can't justify paying $17/ glass of cheap wine. Their happy hour deal is a free glass for two purchased.
Be the first to ReplyExcellent find just on the outskirts of the CBD.
Awesome chef. Amazingly fresh seafood.
