My wife and I had lunch at Cinderella’s Royal Table during the week of March 13th. We skipped the line to have our picture taken with Cinderella but my understanding is the photo was like most of the others, the character stood in the background and the child stands several feet (6 or 8) in front of them for a photo.
We were seated and we started our lunch with the appetizer. I ordered the charcuterie and my wife ordered the castle salad. Both were good, not great but good.
For our entrees we both chose the tenderloin of beef, my wife ordered hers medium and I ordered mine medium-rare. Mine came out perfect but my wife’s was much closer to med-rare than medium. She decided not to send it back and ate it, both of us thought our steaks had very nice flavor, hers was just a little undercooked for her taste but still good.
For our desserts my wife ordered the Jaq & Gus and I ordered The Clock Strikes Twelve. They both were great! No doubt, that was the highlight of the meal in my opinion.
This was probably our 4th time there, all other times were with our daughter (now grown) when she was younger and the princesses came around the dining area and visited with the kids and did pictures with them, sometimes even the prince would show up. I felt the food was not as good as in the past and if I were a parent of a young child, with how they are doing the character experience now (or the lack of) I would probably consider taking that money and doing something else with it.
Personally, while the meal was good, I don’t think we will do it again. The service was good, not exceptional but adequate. We did feel a little rushed, something we never felt in other restaurants on property but I also know they have a high demand. There are better options in the Disney parks than this for the same money. It is also disappointing that they have cut back the character experience almost totally for the kids, but of course that is not reflected in the price.
