Glad I've tried it but to be honest it was way too crowded and the food was nothing to jump up and down over. I had banana pancakes which were yummy and very dense. I ate one of three and took the rest home. I got one of the smoothies and it was not worth the money at all. Very liquid. Nothing to it

Super nice brunch! The baked eggs I got were sooo flavorful and having the well-made focaccia with it was the cherry on top. They also gave us a banana bread French toast on the house which was super sweet! The only note I would mention is that it got pretty loud, so I'd come with friends but not to study. Parking was great.

Loved this Aussie-inspired restaurant! We visited during happy hour and scored 99ยข espresso martinis, you just can't beat that deal anywhere else. The wings and calamari were absolutely delicious, and the service was fantastic, super friendly and attentive. The ambiance is lively and cool, very welcoming vibe that makes it perfect for hanging out with friends. Highly recommend!

What a cute brunch spot! They sat us right away on a Sunday without a reservation around 9:30. The service was great!! The fluffy juice is a must(think orange julius). We got the blueberry pancakes to share which were very thick but delicious! I got the chorizo and egg bake with beans, it was just okay. But the French toast and Benedict I tried of my friends was fabulous. Overall great addition to the Austin breakfast scene.

After shopping at Central market with a buddy, I treated him to breakfast at the new Citizens All Day on Burnet. It's pretty new and attractively decorated inside. Originally from Australia, this is the first one in Austin. Not sure how many there are in the United States. Service was prompt, although the coffee took an awful a long time. I ordered the Pastrami Benny which is smoked pastrami, poached eggs, hollandaise sauce, on cheddar biscuits.. The smoked pastrami was very difficult to cut and chew. Not a great combination for me. The coffee was excellent, however a refill took forever. Give it a try and see what you think.

This is on a personal scale where 10 is the best dish you could possibly have for that specific category of food Green Goddess Shashuka: 5.6/10 Cheddar Biscuit Brekkie Sandwich: 7.3/10 Hashbrowns: 5.3/10 Nitro Latte: 6.1/10 Nitro blue matcha and lavender latte: 6.5/10 Overall not a bad meal, but nothing special. I didn't try any of the sweet breakfast options so perhaps those are better.
Went to Citizens last week and was pleasantly surprised.
Food is healthy and has a different flare, having an Australian influence. I ordered the avocado toast and had the blue matcha & lavender latte and the green goddess smoothie. Everything tasted really good and will come back.
Grabbed lunch while in Austin at Citizens.
I ordered a whipped cocktail because I had to find out what it was! I got a Paloma and it was very good. The texture kind of felt like a smoothie, but it tasted like a Paloma! I also got the Reuben, and it was delish! I would definitely go back and order the same thing!
Citizen is great.
Leaving a second review because we finally got to try the coffee out and love it. Definitely will be returning for the coffee and pastries to go- the Nitro latte is FANTASTIC The only recommendation/suggestion I have is to ask what is on/in what you're getting. There is a lot of American classic type dishes they have but they are all spun with new stuff. If you want to try something new it's a great spot but if you want a classic sausage egg and cheese biscuit(pictured below) it might not be what you were imagining. Still delicious tho and very cute!
Their menu is a hot mess and misnomered.
I ordered the pulled pork gluten free sandwich but they've since removed it from their menu and haven't updated the menus hanging at the cashier. I ordered a gluten free smoked turkey sandwich to go, and the bartender gave me a hot honey turkey sandwich instead. I tried calling and no one picked up. I think the smoked turkey sandwich has since been renamed to turkey pesto sandwich but they haven't updated their menus. There definitely wasn't any pesto in my sandwich, just a spicy red spread. Plus there was provolone in my sandwich, and the turkey pesto didn't list any cheese in its ingredients. I don't know why the pictures have a side of potato chips with their sandwich. My sandwich didn't come with any potato chips. No one offered me a glass of water while I waited fifteen minutes with a baby. I'm not sure why I tipped 15% for lousy service.
