Cornerstone Asheville Reviews from The Last Year
Great breakfast location, worth a second trip.
Great Breakfast place! They are away from the Downtown area, but they cater a good mix of locals and the tourist who are will to venture out. The place is always hopping, but the service is prompt and polite. It is a locally owned and I love to be able to support small local business. This place allows you to do that without sacrificing flavor.
Great and fast
From chicken and waffles to burgers and the best in-house made Parmesan chips to bananas foster pancakes and western omelet- we tried various foods and loved it all. We loved this restaurant. We sat outside and enjoyed the environment. And a delish birthday brownie ala mode.
good shrip and grits
the shrip and grits was realy good and the waitress was super nise to me. i will go back during my stay in asheville because it was so good!
I would drive on down the road.
Terrible service from our original server. Then a young lady took over and she was pleasant. Had to ask for horseradish sauce. Had to ask for our check. Good was hot but just mediocre. My significant other ordered a Monte Christo and they usually have powdered sugar on them. His was basically a grilled ham and cheese sandwich. Don’t plan on coming bacl
An excellent restaurant
I have been to Cornerstone many times, and at least 3 times in the last month. There is plenty of parking, the service is friendly, and the food real good. Our favorites include both the chicken and gyro meat platter, the fried chicken, and the large salads. Although I have never had them, the onion rings look amazing.
Bring your appetite
Better be hungry when you come here 😉 The food was outstanding and the atmosphere and style is wonderful. Husband had the breakfast bowl which is huge, daughter had country fried steak, I had an omelet. Way to make our trip and we will be back.
Backyard Adventure
There are plenty of choices on the menu for everyone taste. The quantity and quality of food are very good. Our server was very friendly, and our food came out quick. There are plenty of big screens to watch your favorite sporting event. However, there is quiet seating.

We were visiting from NJ, we did take out one night and the chicken salad was awesome. Then we did breakfast and it was the best mushroom and cheese omelette I ever had. My husband was happy with the omelette as well. Not complaining, totally our Al fault for not asking to move, but it was very cold from the door opening as we were seated near it. Service was amazing, server had great personality and was very attentive.
We always come here when we're in town.
I've been coming for 20+ years. Even before the renovation it was a, dare I say it, cornerstone in transitional breakfast in Asheville. Close to the heart of Asheville is a fantastic starting point for the day. The portions are large and give you energy well into the late afternoon. Since the renovation the decor is much more modern. Unlike some of the newer places that have flashy new decor and lack substance, this place is worth the visit. Service has never been lacking and they are some of the friendliest servers in the area. This would tell me they are pretty happy in their work environment. I have nothing but great things to say about the place. If you are around give them a try for breakfast and leave quite full!
Tasty food.
Custer service was excellent. It was a crowded day when we came but the wait was only 20 minutes. We opted to wait in the car and they texted us when the table was ready. Our server was Rebecca, and was nice. The food was good and the quantity was just right. Will definitely recommend.
Cornerstone has turned into a breakfast tradition for us on
Cornerstone has turned into a breakfast tradition for us on our yearly trip to Asheville. They have a great menu with several fresh and different options. My Wife usually goes for the shrimp and grits and its fantastic. The service is always great and the building is very clean and open. They also have a bar so its a great brunch option.
We ate here today and had a wonderful breakfast.
Our waitress was Vicky and she was great! She was very attentive, friendly and she went out of her way to make sure we had what we needed. The food is yummy and the portions are large! I always have to get a box to bring home leftovers!
Nauseating - I should have sent it back
Yesterday my husband and I had lunch at this restaurant. We ordered the Monte Cristo. I’ve had this many times before at other restaurants and it’s one of my favorites. According to their menu it’s served on grilled brioche French toast, sprinkled with powdered sugar and blackberry jam on the side. When it was delivered to our table, the first thing I noticed was the lack of jam. Our waiter went back for the jam and then I saw there was no powdered sugar. I decided to let that go. I also saw that the cheese was sliding out on the side and the ham and turkey were sliding out on the ends. When I cut into the sandwich I noticed that the bottom slice of bread was not grilled sufficiently and was still very soggy from whatever mixture they dipped it in. As I ate it I worried that it might make me sick. My husband later said “if they serve a sandwich like this, what must their kitchen look like?” Last night as my stomach gurgled I realized that I should have sent it back. And today as I’ve gotten sick for the second time my concern was confirmed. I should report them to the Health Department but I think this might be more effective.
Disappointed
Can you say disappointed? Staying a few days in Asheville and thought my husband and I would try this restaurant out. I've never had such a thin ribeye in all my life. Our waiter acted as though we were a bother and he was doing us a favor by refilling our empty glasses. We will not revisit this restaurant again!

Always a fun and filling place to eat, great waitresses and food. Prices are also very affordable
Filet Mignon at Tunnel Road Cornerstone
We were there to celebrate a good report from my best friends cancer doctor. I treated her to filet mignon. When the food came, the other 3 people had great food. The filet was full of griddle. She was worn out from sawing, trying to find a piece she could chew. I have NEVER been so disappointed!!
Awesome restaurant
We ate here twice for dinner in our 2 day stay, it was that good. Reasonably priced, great atmosphere and even better service. Food was amazing!
The place was fine.
It was a very lively place. We got there before the church/lunch rush. It was surprisingly big as we went to the way back tables. Our waiter was nice to us. The food, on the other hand, was really bad for me. My family loved their food, at least. I ordered a breakfast croissant sandwich, which said it came with fries. The sandwich was huge, so I cut it in half and looked at the avocados. They looked and tasted horrible. We told the waiter to at least tell the cooking staff about it. She was very nice when we told her, though.
This restaurant was recommended by our hotel as a top pick.
Well don't waste your money. We were seated immediately but that's where the stars stop. We waited over 30 minutes for our waitress to take our orders. We waited another 15 for our drinks which were black coffee, hot chocolate and water. The hot chocolate was all water and like warm. Next she came back for our orders when the room another 30 minutes to arrive. The food was cold and we also had to ask for parts of our meals. We understand the short staffing issue but for the cost of our meal, it at least could have been warm.
The food was overcooked and served cold.
The expo kept yelling, "I need runners" apparently nobody wants to run the food. The waitress Phaedra was amazing! The food sucked!

4 My husband got the monte cristo sandwich and he said it was a 3.5/5. I ordered the peach stuffed French toast and it was 4.5/5. Delicious. We ordered nachos for an appetizer and they were mediocre. Next time I would request only queso cheese and not the American and Swiss that also comes on top. Service was prompt.
Great place to eat
we tried this place out on the advice of the check in person at our hotel. She did not steer us wrong. The menu is widely varied, and everything we tried was good, with large portions. over two visits we had salads (house made croutons and dressing) ribs, fish and chips and manicotti. All of it very good. The ambiance was like a ski lodge, the service was great. Jennifer was on the spot with recommendations and service.
The service is excellent.
The food is timely and the service is phenomenal!! You will not be disappointed with this new favorite watering hole.
Nice family restaurant!
I had the Chicken Parmigiana with Alfredo and my wife had the chopped steak with mashed potatoes. The food was served hot and timely. The Blackberry Cobbler A la Mode was the perfect ending for our dinner.
EXCEPTIONAL
Came to Cornerstone for breakfast. What a pleasant surprise; delicious food and exceptional service from Destiny D. The restaurant is immaculate and the atmosphere is extremely appealing. We met Jennifer, the manager, and were extremely impressed with her attitude and welcoming personality. We are moving to Asheville in January and we will become regulars at this wonderful establishment!
Great diner in Asheville.
Cornerstone: Came to Cornerstone for breakfast for the first time on a recent visit to Asheville. This “diner” is beautiful, the food is delicious and the service by Destiny D. was excellent. I can only say good things about it, and we will be returning soon.

How do you set a timeline for getting your bid accepted? I can’t wait till the actual time I want to go. I want to know at least eight hours ahead of time. How do you do that?
