If you want a nice (fancy) meal in Barcelona, this.
is. your. place. We tried another tasting menu at another restaurant with a Michelin star (that I won't name here), and this was ten times better. The service was incredible and the meals/flavors were off the charts. Highly highly highly recommend. Definitely make a reservation for this restaurant if you have the time when you're in Barcelona.

It was going well until the paella, which was clearly very burnt, came along. Had the 7-course tasting menu. Pros: beet hummus with good truffle flavor, tomato salad. Meh: fish churros, cheese balls, duck croquettes, dessert which was ice cream. Bad: paella. Packed house on a Wednesday night so make sure to make a reservation in advance (you will need to put your card down and they take Amex for this but not for actually paying in the restaurant). Our server was very nice though and the food came quickly, but when it came to the cheque it took 30 minutes...

4.5ish stars! Dined in for lunch and chose the grand cruix for 52 euros a person. Good deal in my opinion and we did leave full. The menu was creative and tasty! We especially loved the fish churros and the cheese ball the most. Two dishes that were a tad underwhelming where the broccoli and the paella. They just left a lot to be desired after the more intricate dishes that came before them. The thai inspired dessert was so interesting! Sweet meets savory and it had a bit of a kick too. The pace of this course meal was great and the service was attentive and explained every dish well.

Both the atmosphere and the culinary expertise provided an amazing experience. This was by far the best restaurant of our trip and we will certainly be back. Many thanks to the chef and the staff!

Just finished dinner at this amazing Michelin star restaurant and boy was it amazing. Each small dish (and yes, you will be full at the end) wowed in presentation, flavor and description by our wonderful servers. It is also a bargain for this type of experience at only 39 euro per person! Make reservations ahead of time and make sure to try each dish (even if you think you don't like anchovies, for example) because we had a skeptic with us who eventually ate everything and could not believe how delicious everything was. Thank you CruiX, can't wait to come back to Barcelona!!
Be the first to ReplyGiven the near $60 price point, we expected much better.
We added on water, cava, and two oysters, which increased our dinner price by around $15.For $45, we had 12 dishes, and out of the twelve we loved 3 and liked another 4, coming to about 7/12 dishes that we felt positively over.Predinner:Cava - decent, normal cava, have had betterOlives- really good, we asked for a second servingDinner1. Hot and Sour soup- pretty good, but also pretty basic. Coming from nyc, it tastes like chinese take-out hot and sour - which I like, but nothing special. I give it a pass2. Nigiri - Absolute fire. We loved this one. Happily would have had another. Salty and savory - bon appetitBonus: Oyster - very good, had some creamy sauce on it that made the whole experience smooth and tasty3. Eel - very delicious - reminded me of terryaki eel from a japanese restaurant- very well executed 4. Salad - don't remember the real name but it was some lackluster salad with a green vinaigrette, not special5. Crunchy thing - tastes like fishcakes - was pretty good, with a green sauce6. Croquettes- lamb was amazing easily top 37. Indian sauce with cracker thing - very good, and had truffle sauce8. Broccoli- literally broccoli was like kinda burnt and had small portions of tahini sauce and cream - not special9. Stingray taco: again straight fire, would happily eat again. Great flavor and balance10. Paella thing - not a paella, but looked like one. Really salty. Good texture, but there wasn't any dynamic flavor. Could use something sweet or sour to cut the spice, especially since this was supposed to be the main dish.11. Curry ice cream- honestly first bite was pretty good but then it got too spicy and a bit boring, ice cream melted faster than me writing this sentence12. Sad day at the beach - very creative name - was a solid ice cream with hazelnut and flakes spread

We ate here during a weeklong stay in Barcelona and it was super close to our hotel. It was delicious and the tasting menu was a bargain! The cod churros were a huge hit, especially with our two year old. Great spot!
Be the first to ReplyA must in Barcelona.
Amazing set menu for a bargain price, the dishes are exquisite. Not to mention the great service including personal attention by the owner. And top it off with two desserts! The best food experience I have had in Barcelona hands down.

Stopped in here for lunch and the dishes were so good & unique! Everything had great flavor, service was good, they spoke English & Spanish. The flavor combinations of the tapas were amazing! We really enjoyed this!

The cod churro is amazing. Everything else was very memorable and a true indulgence...It was a pleasant surprise to find this gem in the middle of the touristy part of Barcelona. Do yourself a favor and go there for a great experience!

During my weeklong trip to Spain, I avoided all of the rice dishes at restaurants and especially the ones in touristy areas claiming to be the "best paella in town." On a food tour, I learned of this spot and had to give it a try and it perfectly hit the spot! The menu clearly marked what allergens each plate had and you could omit so it was easy for me to follow my dietary restrictions and the staff was very helpful. They only have about three different rice dishes and you need two people minimum to order one - which makes sense because of the size of the pans and length of time necessary to make a good paella. We chose the shrimp one as well as a few of their tapas to start. All of the tapas were fresh and unique compared to other restaurants we had been. Also, it was finally a place to get some actual vegetables while on vacation and not being able to cook for myself. The paella was perfect; the rice was thin so it had a crispy bottom layer throughout the whole pan and, I don't know how they did it, but the shrimp were the most tender shrimp I have ever eaten! If you want traditional Spanish food with a modern twist, definitely check out this place!

The chef combines foods that sound like they would never taste well together but when you start eating you will be blown away. We had the recommended dinner menu of 8 tapas. All of them were amazing, especially the desserts and foie gras that tasted like chocolate mousse. Yum

Modern, delicious tapas! Their fresh twist on traditional tapas is amazing. Duck croquettes, cod churros, marinated tomato salad and Mexican tartare were excellent. Their paella is the BEST! We've visited several excellent restaurants here in Barcelona, and this one is top notch. Casual, fun atmosphere and kind, superb service. Don't miss it!!!
