Be the first to ReplyCame by on a Saturday around 5pm.
There were still seats available, but they were filling up quick during my time there. They have seasonal drinks, but it's interesting that they still had drinks that featured fall fruits and spices. Ended up getting the Cuzco Fizz which was a drink that was featured for Women's History month. It was refreshing and light. Honestly loved the sugar coated grapes that came with the drink. The alcohol was completely masked, but it was strong enough to get me a little buzzed from one drink. The drink also supports women as a part of the proceeds get donated. The place is a nice and cozy vibe.

The door is run by a 16 year old Who is excited to be in charge. We were late for our reservation by 20 mins and were made to wait 45 minutes for our table because they were "at capacity" inside . Heard from friends inside that there were plenty of tables available. From the door you realize this is not an upscale experience. Just a dive bar trying to give you one. It's a no for me .

Really pretty interior with equally tasty drinks -- came here with a friend but it's a really nice spot without too much wait and perfect for date night I think
Be the first to ReplyMet a friend here for cocktails the other day.
They had some great NA options which was fun for me (being pregnant) and my friend enjoyed her dirty martini. Not a ton of casual food options, but enough as long as you don't have a shellfish allergy. My friend did, and that made finding a snack on the menu challenging. Vibe is a bit fancier than I anticipated, but looks like it caters to the post-work crowd in the area.

Great space and very good cocktails! A classy spot for drinks on a Friday night- and only had to wait about 10 min for a seat.

It's affordable, the ambiance is pretty cool, and there are lots and lots of drinks. If you like whiskey based ones though I would look to Raines Law Room. But there are more fruit-forward drinks at Dear Irving. I think for what it is, this is a good place to go. Better than most bars and the selection is great.
Be the first to ReplyIt's fine I guess.
Cocktails are good, service was decent, atmosphere is nice...it just feels kinda dated in the sense that it reminds me of the cocktail scene in like 2017 when everything was just riffs on classics. I had two drinks: the tinderbox (a little spicy mezcal drink) was fun. My second drink was the weaving weber (basically a tequila old fashioned) that I thought was really tasty but it was a $28 cocktail so at that price point it better be. Honestly a good half of the menu are riffs on classic dark liquor cocktails (manhattans & old fashioneds). They don't seem to have anything inventive featuring vodka or gin. There's lip service to pisco, tequila, and mezcal, but those cocktails feel safe and obligatory. Good, bad, or ugly? Honestly, none of the above. The best adjective I can use is boring. [Aside, I also hate the 'button' method of service - it's fun as a novelty but as with the entire cocktail menu reeks of 8 years ago]
Be the first to ReplyAs cocktail bars go Dear Irving stands above the rest.
Nestled in a converted townhouse the ambiance of the venue cannot be matched. The bartenders know what they are doing and the cocktails are unique. This is a great place to go with friends to relax. My bourbon drink had a peppery kick and was delicious.
Be the first to ReplyGreat cocktails and service.
A livelier version of their sister bar Raines Law Room. Highly recommend.

This is my favourite hidden gem!!!Definitely will be back every time I'm in NY ...best service , food and my all time best espresso martinis best on town by far.Oh let's not forget the ambiance of the place it's like you transported to your own privet club.

Speakeasy/lounge with older dark red, brown, and black decor. Tasty creative cocktails and small bites. Attentive, patient, and friendly service. Put our names down and waited about an hour elsewhere. Worth the wait and would return.

Friendly and extremely knowledgeable. Drinks were delightful and loved the atmosphere.
Be the first to ReplyVisiting New York we decided to give this place a try.
Our group had a poor reception from the workers from the start. When we asked if we could go sit in the other room, our waiter said yes. When we walked into the other room, we were met with unwelcoming yells of "you can't be in this room" when all our group did was follow the direction of our waiter. In addition, another group walked in and didn't receive the same reception. They were allowed to stay even though we were told to come back in 10 mins when the room is opened. They can't just always assume people know the opened hours of certain rooms. In addition, they could've told us in a nicer manner. Do not go here unless you want bad service.
Be the first to ReplyAtmosphere is fun and animated.
There is a wide variety of drinks including the traditional martini as well as their signature drinks, too many to mention (not boring in the least!) I had my daughter pick for me as I was like a kid in a candy store and just could not make up my mind. Ohhh and there is a push button at every table which is a basic call to serve champagne (don't know if they are still doing this) but it is a well known distinction of this fun speak easy styled bar. We only had hors d'oeuvres which were very good as well. It would be one of my go to spots if I lived in NY,NY.
Be the first to ReplyGreat little speakeasy.
It up the stairs outside and usually there is someone sitting there. They're is almost always a wait but they tell you a certain amount of time and text you when the tables ready. We got very lucky they said 45 minutes but ended up texting us in about 10. The drinks are good the vibe is cute in the little booths and at the bar. I've sat at the booths during Covid (seemed much more lively now but that was very nice too more intimate) and this time sat at the bar. The bartender was a mesmerizing to watch (they had a private event going on in the back and she was just handling it like a champ so had to give a shout out).

Such a cool spot in Gramercy - think dark, velvet, chandeliers, speakeasy - and that's the vibe. We walked in without a reservation on a Friday night and were told it might be a bit of a wait and to leave a phone number - and were texted about five minutes later. It's a fairly large spot, so that may make it easier to get a table (not sure if it was just a fluke). While they do have food, it's more just bites and this is primarily a cocktail bar (so you don't have to feel bad if you are just coming for cocktails).
Be the first to ReplySleek lounge vibes with call buttons to summon your server.
Stopped by this cocktail bar right when it opened since we didn't have reservations. Great spot to get a drink before dinner. It's warm and cozy feel inside with buttons behind each pair of seats to call for your sever. They had good drinks and interesting small bites. Good stop overall.

.. cool. The ambiance is perfect, the vibe swirls around like a mudslide but you'll never find a dull drink like that here. The bourbon drinks hit just right and while the service was okay, the prices quite high, the time spent was great. I think it was about 6 months ago maybe 9; My lovely date and I passed the place a couple times (across the street) until she spotted it, we popped in, put our name down, and zipped back over to the corner bar. Got the text our spot was almost ready and dashed back over where I sat first. Had a buzz when the hostess or somebody told me to buzz the little doorbell when I wanted service and sort of forgot that detail when it came time to make up our minds... but after looking around and it catching the corner of my eye, it all clicked and I pushed the button like I was trick or treating for brown liquor. It was a fun, sexy sort of time and I'd be surprised if that review I just read about a "business meeting" didn't end a little differently than she said; lol.Splurge on a round or two but if you're like me you're not spending the night draining your bank account in one cool place; on to the next!
Be the first to ReplyCharming cocktail bar with some old timey and upscale decor.
Walking through the space feels adjacent to walking through a few decades. My boyfriend and I got seated at the very back room which had beautiful velvet couches, chairs, art, and a chandelier. We were seated promptly after showing up with a reservation. We ordered 4 cocktails -- the Battle Annie, Sloe Glow, Pear'd Off, and the Nomadic Old Fashioned. All of the drinks were unique and delicious. I loved how refreshing the Sloe Glow was, definitely my favorite of the night. Drinks are strong and worth the price. Service was also great! All we had to do was push a button and someone always came our way quickly. Loved the vibes of Dear Irving and definitely want to come back again for more of their drinks and to try their Nibble Platter, which my boyfriend raves about.Great spot for a date night!

Dear Irving has now expanded to Times Square, but we visited the original location in Gramercy. The plain entrance is easy to miss, but once inside, the lounge is like a decadent wonderland. The bar itself is more traditional. The cocktail menu was divided into the sections Classic Inspiration, Hot Ones, Earth Elements and Nightcaps. We first tried the Xantolo, mainly because of the reposado tequila and mezcal, which turned out to be a mistake cause it was so spicy it dulled our taste of the next drink. Which was the Godfather Part 2, an interesting twist on the original with Amaro Abano bitters and Barolo Chinato fortified wine. We usually like to sit at the bar and have a chat with the bartenders to find out more about the establishment and the inspiration for the cocktails. This turned out to be the wrong place for us, as the bartenders mostly talked to each other in Spanish. We think this is a bar better suited for dates or groups of friends who have fun in the lounge.

Such a cool space! This would be a great place for a first date. The lighting is just right so it's not too dark (we've all been to that one place where you need your phone flashlight just to read the menu) and the noise level just ambient enough to hear your partner without screaming at each other. We made a reservation for Dear Irving for 9:45 and were promptly seated. The seats were super comfortable and velvety and I loved that there was a little call light to ask the attendant to come. Service was prompt and polite.I ordered the sloe gloe based on the waitress' recommendation, which was a gin based drink with egg white. Surprisingly, it tasted like a super refreshing watermelon. It was hard to detect the alcohol in it and it was super easy to drink. My companion ordered the Spy drink and equally liked it as well.Highly recommend Dear Irving for the ambiance, the space, and the solid drinks!

Working with Lauren to plan a corporate event for my company was one of the most pleasant, seamless, and easy experiences I have had during my career. She was communicative, kind, and efficient. Every question was answered, and I felt like she genuinely cared that the event was a smashing success. The event was flawless, and the team supporting our event were nothing short of excellent. Billy was so helpful, and worked with us during every step of set up, event, end event close to make sure we had a great night. The space was beautiful, drinks/food delicious and tequila tasting divine. I will 100% look to work with Dear Irving and team again, soon.

The ambience here was so amazing, and even for a packed night, the rsvp and seating went smooth. I totally adore the bell we call for the waiter to order, the decor is trendy enough for you to like it. Cocktails are worth it, they can ease up on ice but they're all delicious. Music selection is fine too! I went with a group of 4 my first time, but definitely can say it can fall within a date night spot, or a group of friends for sure. Will be back for sure.
