Incredible flavors, groovy atmosphere, and delicious drinks.
If you're looking to taste cuisine of Indonesian this is the spot for you! Must try's: pork butt skewers, tofu rendang, charred eggplant, and spicy noodles
Be the first to ReplyWonderful food and drink, cool ambiance.
Indifferent service, but still had a great experience anyway.
Be the first to Replywhat an amazing dinner!!! my boyfriend and i came here for
what an amazing dinner!!! my boyfriend and i came here for his birthday and were so satisfied with the food, drinks, and pricing! Everything we tried was amazing, perfectly balanced and portioned. This is a great place for a nice but laid back date night. The two girls working were very nice, they were sharing the bar and all tables so keep that in mind when dining on a weekday! You are there to sit and experience the food. We can't wait to come back and try the rest of the menu!

Everything about this place is a 10 out of 10, if you love flavor, and spice, the exactly the place to go. Our server was on top of it and recommended some great dishes. Such a great hidden gem.
Be the first to ReplyLast night, me and my girlfriend decided to try this place
Last night, me and my girlfriend decided to try this place because it looked yummy and was close. We didn't have a reservation so we checked in at 7:50 and they told us it would be a 45 minute wait, not too bad. We stayed close in hopes that it would take less time than they quoted. 9:30 rolled around and we still hadn't heard anything. We were getting a little antsy so we checked their hours online. They close at 9. On a friday night when they only just opened a few hours ago at 5. Not only are these hours weird the girl who checked us in at 7:50 said absolutely nothing about them closing soon and us potentially not getting in at all. Thanks for wasting my night guys.
Be the first to ReplyGreat food and prices.
Service was amazing. It's located right next-door to a Jazz/bar restaurant that serves mixed drinks. My only downside of the experiences that they didn't have alcohol at their bar just one, but I went for the food so it was OK!
Be the first to ReplyIt's so stinking unique and delicious.
Trust me, order the Roti, Mie Goring and Nash Goring. So so so so darn good. It's one of our favorite date night splurges!
Be the first to ReplyParty of 6 for a Friday night.
We were able to come in at 5:30pm and request for a table for 6:30pm! The place is small, casual and feels like it was previously a bar in its old life. It does have a bar, but the place just feels like a bar if you turn the lights down. Anywho, we ordered like half the menu to try out the different foods. My favorites included the beef tartare, chicken thigh skewers and the fried chicken with the chicharron sprinkled on the rice. Some of my least favorites were the gu choy, ceviche, noodles and the rice dish. Some flavorings were too salty for our palette. Ambiance, wayyy too loud. The music was loud and because it a small space... the noise is packed in. Not an intimate place. Also, our party was having a good time and catching up. But we were asked three times in 10 minutes if we were done... idk, the tone of voice wasn't the vibes.
Be the first to ReplyJust overall leaves a lot to be desired, little confused
Just overall leaves a lot to be desired, little confused why Michelin recognized. Food was super salty, service was mediocre, nothing was very memorable about this spot. Didn't over eat but tummy felt heavy all nite and this morning. Def not worth the drive from downtown San Diego area. Would not recommend
Be the first to ReplyMy girlfriend and I decided to come here for her birthday
My girlfriend and I decided to come here for her birthday dinner not to long ago and had a horrible experience. Once we got our bill for $120 I put down $200 cash (2 $100 bills) a few minutes later a woman came to collect the bill who was not our waitress the entire night. She came to return the bill with $8 in change. I flagged her down a few minutes later and told her there must have been a mistake our bill was $120 I need $80 back. She immediately was very defensive and told me that I only put down $100. We argued a bit and then I asked her to explain if her case was even correct why would she give me $8 in change. She told me that was her mistake and we actually owed them more money. I laughed.... We argued some more and she told me she was to busy to deal with this and if I wanted I could come check the security footage the next day. My girlfriend and I left and I dropped her off at home. I went back alone and asked to speak with the manager. I didn't want to make a scene in front of her on her birthday dinner. I spoke with another lady explaining what happened and that I was not okay with waiting until tomorrow to get my money back. ($80 isn't much but at this point I didn't care about the money it was the lack of respect I was receiving). Anyways the woman continued to argue and tell me I was wrong and that I didn't pay her $200 (I would bet my life on the fact that I did) I was taken outside with another lady who told me " this has never happened before I dont know what to do". I had to explain to her that what she needs to do is go back inside and return the money to me that I am owed and how customer service works. In all I have never been treated so horribly by restaurant staff and honestly still can't believe that we went to what was supposed to be a nice restaurant for a birthday dinner and had to fight with the staff about our bill...

The Nasi Goreng rice was undercooked, it was almost crispy and the flavor wasn't that good either.Lychee Camo cocktail was very good.
Be the first to ReplyFood was delectable.
They somehow perfected every sauce that came with their food. We wanted to just order every sauce to take home. The flavors were well balanced and not lacking. The things we ordered all had a kick to it, so be careful with the spicy. The drinks were delicious too. Nice and light and well paired with spicy food. The vibe and ambiance were very hipster and kinda "too cool for you" but I mean I'm mainly there for the food. They have some interesting art all around their place.
Be the first to ReplyIt's a cute, small cozy spot.
Pretty casual on the inside. There is a lot of street parking on PCH and one street over. We ordered the chicken skewers, mie goreng and charred eggplant for two with rice. It was enough food and everything tasted great. My only gripe is that a bowl of coconut rice is $6.00 but there was no coconut curry taste at all. It was just regular rice. So if it had been marketed as what it truly was, I would not be so upset. Otherwise, everything was great. I tried both of the white wines and it did not taste like any white wine I have had, on a negative note. Also note the mie goreng is spicy level 8/10 and it builds, but I thoroughly enjoyed it.
Be the first to ReplyAmbiance.
.. interesting and funky. Uncomfortable chairs. Service... not the best. Nobody came to check on us after we got our food , perhaps they don't care whether you like it or not. When we were done ( napkins on the table and cutlery on our plates) it took 20 minutes for someone to walk by and we had to flag them down for our bill. Food... husband had the fried chicken and liked his food... but come on, it's chicken and rice... hard to screw up. I ordered the eggplant...terribly over salted to the point it was inedible. Luckily I also ordered the tofu and tempeh bowl ( I should really just say tempeh bowl because I couldn't find any tofu). Flavors were delicious just a larger portion than I was expecting. Thought it was more of a small plates menu. Flat bread was eh...just was expecting more from the place.
Be the first to ReplyTried out this restaurant last night for the first time and
Tried out this restaurant last night for the first time and wasn't sure what to expect. It's a small low lit place with colorful wall art inside. It feels intimate and casual without being too understated. The menu is full of interesting options with something for everyone. We particularly appreciated that the drink menu had a mocktail option and said mocktail was actually delicious (not overly sweet, thankfully). We really enjoyed our drinks and the food. The flavors embodied a lighter version of Southeast Asian cuisine. The service was pretty good too. We would definitely return and encourage others to try it out.
Be the first to ReplyGreat food at reasonable prices.
Excellent service and a big shout-out to Tarrah who got us in on a very crowded night.Diverse, but limited menu. The four of us all agreed we'd come back.
Be the first to ReplyBe sure to make a reservation before you go.
The restaurant is fairly small. The pork belly skewers are a must have. The portions are also fairly small and I could've eaten three servings. I recommend trying the pandan cocktail to sip on as you wait for your food. The service was less than mediocre since my friends and I felt like we were being judged for ordering as much as we did. We told our server from the start it was our first time trying this restaurant, and wanted to try several of their dishes. The reaction we had gotten from her was "Oh, oh you want to try that too?" All three of us looked at each other after she left with our order and thought, "what was that about?" Overall food was great, service from the first waitress was not that great. We did stay longer than we expected from all of the food we ordered. The second waitress was wonderful and appreciated our feedback about the food. I would've given 5 stars if the waitress in the beginning wasn't so judgmental about us ordering our food.
Be the first to ReplyWe made reservations at Dija Mara based on a friend's
We made reservations at Dija Mara based on a friend's recommendation, and it did not disappoint. The staff is friendly, and the food is delicious. We ordered with the intention of each of us sharing like family style. The eggplant was to die for! I had to stop myself from hogging the entire dish and share with the table. The flatbread is also a must try. Make a reservation because the restaurant is small and cozy. It's a must try when dining in Oceanside.
Be the first to ReplyOn a weekday evening there was no trouble finding parting
On a weekday evening there was no trouble finding parting on the street. The art in the restaurant was edgy, but the staff was very friendly. The bartender, in addition to preparing our drinks was also our receptionist and waitress. The cocktails were excellent and the food was just amazing, bursting with new flavors. The two of us ordered four entrees and had to box the leftovers. Will come back despite the distance
Be the first to ReplyWe were unlucky with the food, we ordered all 3 skewers
We were unlucky with the food, we ordered all 3 skewers (chicken, pork, lamb) and everything was burnt! The meat and rice was delicious and a cocktail.
Be the first to ReplyI really like this, it was my first time here and it was
I really like this, it was my first time here and it was such a good experience the cocktails here were so good, I got the Ayam Penyet which was perfect the chicken was perfectly fried and not dried out on the inside the sambul sauce that came with it was pretty good it wasn't to spicy but still gave you that kick!
Be the first to ReplyTried this place for the first time last week to try
Tried this place for the first time last week to try something different. Restaurant is clean, staff is very friendly, attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. Cocktails are good too! What is really nice is that they have a gluten free menu also. The only price of advice I have is that the food is over salted. After awhile everything ended up tasting the same due to the salt, I had to refill my water glass a lot. Great flavors and presentation.
Be the first to ReplyWe went in with high expectations when a friend's
We went in with high expectations when a friend's recommendation and DM making a "Best Brunch" list collided in my consciousness. Knowing all their reservations were spoken for, made us put up with the hostess/waitress who seemed loathe to acknowledge us. She eventually offered us bar seating, and we found Tarrah, the bartender, to be perfectly friendly and courteous. The place did have more of a bar vibe than "brunch" with concrete and graffiti art figuring in the decor. It never filled up though I'm guessing 11:15-12:15 on Sunday is the height of brunch, and only one other couple joined us at the bar. Even so, it was tough on the two servers, and apparently the kitchen. If you were partaking I'd the Mimosas or had something in which to snack, a 30 minute wait might not be bad, but it's definitely not good when you're hungry and perched in a too-short bar stool. Still, the food could have made up for it...The Nasi Lemak Breakfast was composed of 7 elements that attempted to balance each other out - unfortunately the dryness won out lead by the chicken which, while flavorful, was fried without skin to the point of desiccation. The Nasi Goreng, a representative Indonesian dish, was good - HG had them increase the spice level. I may have shied away from the "fermented" hot sauce, but there was no unpleasant strong taste. The roti was good, but too bad it wasn't included instead of being $10 for a small serving. I think there are too many nearby choices for me to give Dija Mara another chance.
Be the first to ReplyFantastic food.
Really upping the game in Oceanside. the owner is such an interesting person and the staff are very chill. Skip the alcoholic drinks and stick to beer or wine. The roti is a must. Best is to get a reservation but wait times aren't typically awful.
Be the first to ReplyDija Mara was a great find.
great ambiance, good staff. Food was incredible -- almost every dish. Almost. We ended up order the lamb skewers which first came out cold. When we sent it back it came back dry, which made us think it was just reheated. But to be honest - if it weren't for that this place would have been a 5 easily. Everything else we had was fantastic. Highly recommend.
