Great sit down spot.
Ambiance is vibrant with great decorations. Food is fresh and delicious. Only thing I have to say negatively about this spot is the wait, but the servers are fast to bring the food out. But expect an hour to two hour wait each time. Good to put your name in and walk around the mall to shop.

Luckily I was able to snag a reservation, so there was no wait. It was clean and gave a modern vibe. I always get the cucumbers to start, they're a must. The green beans were extra garlicky and good this time. The pork chop over fried rice was okay, but the fried rice was super bland. The shanghai rice cakes were phenomenal, so flavorful. The pork xiao long bao were delicious, but the skin was a little too hard and dry for my liking. The beef noodle soup was savory with a hint of spice and the meat was super tender. I tried the viral chocolate mochi xiao long bao and it definitely lives up to its hype, especially with the salted cheese foam!

The Spicy Wontons & Pork XLBs are a must & the Chocolate XLB are incredible

Had to make the reservation a month in advance for a weeknight dinner slot. I wanted to their famous dumplings for the longest time but was always skeptical with the low rating on yelp. Their service is quick and the restaurant was packed on a weeknight as well. Dishes: Kurobuta Pork XLB - According to the reviews and our server this was one of the most popular dishes on the menu and for good reason. They take a while to come and may arrive after other dishes but that's because almost every table orders it, it's that good. Shrimp & Kurobuta Pork Dumplings: I was expecting a lot from these dumplings, but unfortunately they didn't have a whole lot of flavor. Shrimp & Kurobuta Pork Shao Mai: I liked the shao mai more than the dumplings above. Our server also recommended Shrimp & Kurobuta Pork Shao Mai over the Shrimp & Kurobuta Pork Dumplings and she was absolutely right. Chicken Spicy Wontons: This was a favourite from the meal as well. The spicy sauce made the whole dish work for me. I would definitely recommend it. Noodles with Spicy Sauce: The noodles were the weakest dish on the table of everything we ordered. There wasn't much flavour and springiness in the noodles for me. Chicken and Mushroom Buns: I think they were okay. Nothing great about them. I would not reorder them as there are better dishes on their menu. Chocolate & Mochi XLB with the side of Sea Salt Cream: This was the star of the meal for me and I could be biased since I love chocolate. I feel it is mandatory to get the side of sea salt cream with the chocolate dumpling. That combination is made in heaven. If there wasn't a huge waiting line, I wouldn't mind going to the restaurant for just this dessert. Was it worth the wait? I guess. Would I dine here again? Probably. But then there are so many dumpling options in bay area that I don't think I would go through the hassle of making the reservation a month in advance. I wouldn't mind sitting at their bar since anyway the tables in the dinning room section are so close to each other that you can almost hear the entire conversation on the other table with zero privacy.
Be the first to ReplyThe BEST food, I ever tasted in Asia - Tawainese Restaurant.
I will come here again with friends.

2.5 hour wait for reservation but easy to spend time at mall. Attentive and friendly service. However, disappointed that the XLB came out lukewarm.
Be the first to ReplyThere is going to be a wait - that's just the way it is.
My sister and I have always gone right when they open and we usually only have to wait for about 30 minutes. Get the cucumber salad, you won't regret it! I don't know what they do to the cucumbers but it's SO GOOD. The chocolate xiao long baos with mochi is a must too. Honestly, everything is yummy and the standard is there - everything tastes pretty much the same as the ones in Taiwan. The staff are all really friendly as well, considering how busy it always is. It's impressive.

I came to this location on a Monday night and to no surprise it was packed! Luckily for me, my friend put his name on the waitlist and was able to get in line a bit earlier so my total wait was about 15 minutes. Din Tai Fung is a global Taiwanese dim sum chain that is known for their quality and that is evident when you get there! The restaurant has a large window in front where mall goers can watch the diligent and focused workers make fresh soup dumplings to order. It's truly mesmerizing watching them skillfully add exactly 18 folds to each famous Xiao Long Bao. As I walked to my table, I noticed the restaurant is spacious, large, and simplistic with a very modern bar in the center. My friend and I sat down and were greeted by a very friendly server! He was extremely patient and happily showed us some menu items that he recommended us to try. We ordered the Cucumber Salad, String Beans with Garlic, Shrimp and Kurobuta Pork Shao Mai, Kurobuta XLB, Shrimp and Kurobuta Pork Spicy Wontons, and the Shrimp Fried Noodles. The cucumber salad was cold, refreshing, lightly sweet, slightly spicy. The string beans were firm, crisp, and had subtle garlic flavor. The shao mai, xlb, and wontons came out piping hot. They were tender, juicy, and had a nice perfectly thin skin around each. My favorite of the three had to be the spicy wontons since I'm a chili oil kind of girl! The shrimp fried noodles had a satisfying chew and was pan fried with shrimp and generous amounts of cabbage and spinach-- a little too much for my liking. We ended dinner with the famous Chocolate and Mochi XLB. All I can say was it was delicious! Oozing with molten chocolate truffle and wrapped in a thin mochi skin, I highly recommend this dessert! My overall experience was great! The only con about this restaurant is the portions are very small for the high price.

Had a system wait time snafu when our party of 7 initially checked-in for seating. Manager (Loren) swooped in with ease and elegance to resolve the issue with no push-back or defensiveness. She demonstrated the style of hospitality comparable to operations by Danny Meyer / USHG. Aaron & Albert - Hope you're well aware Loren is a benchmark asset for service, accountability, and triage within your team. Thank you Loren.
Be the first to ReplyQuality and consistency no matter which one you end up at.
I've been to three locations now, and they all deliver on the DTF experience. I am not one to frequent chain restaurants in general, but this is an exception. I wouldn't call the service extraordinary, but they're attentive, timely, and get the order right. What more do you really need? The food is great, and there's a wide variety of options to please a large group. There can be a long wait if you walk up, but make a reservation and you can avoid that problem.
Be the first to ReplyWe waited almost 3 hours to get a table at this place.
.. it felt like endless wait! So I would definitely recommend reservations... the bar seating also had a wait time, if you walk in... so definitely reservations recommended... but the food was really really good... we tried good variety of options... they do give their menu on a sheet of paper, you get tick what all you want at the beginning and the food will be served one course after the other as per your preference.. we ordered some drinks and they tasted great, so we went ahead and ordered again... dumplings, potstickers, ramen everything tasted good... must try is the chocolate dumplings... they serve them warm with chocolate oozing out as you bite in to.. they serve with a small Vanilla cream to dip it.. absolutely brilliant... must try!
Be the first to ReplyIt's awesome, we had a great time at this place.
Their dumplings are the best. The only issue is inability to find reservations, the wait is about 2-3 hours

I love this restaurant, every time I am here I get an amazing customer service and the food is high quality!!. Everything went fine how ever the host was not friendly.
Be the first to ReplyI have been here in the past and the food was very good.
I recently went and the food was just okay. The waiters were amazing very attentative and friendly. Thats a star. We got beef noodle soup which was probably the best thing we got. super consistent in portion and flavor. two more stars for that. The pork dumplings were okay, the top skin was hard which is not how I remembered them. the spicy wontons weren't anything special at all. We also got shrimp rice cakes and the vegetable were hard and rice cakes were still hard. For the price we expected consistent food quality. i have been to multiple din tai fung restaurants and this one had the worst.

Although we had ~ 1 hour wait, it was definitely worth it! Due to to location being inside the mall there was definitely a lot to explore while we waited. We started off with the cucumber salad which is always so refreshing and crunchy. We had a vegetarian in our group and appreciate how vegetarian friendly the restaurant is! We had a mixture of pork, shrimp and vegetarian dumpling options. We had a very friendly host and great servers checking on us throughout our stay, they were also very patient with us taking out time eating. Overall 10/10 experience :)

I've only ordered food to go from here, because I don't like to eat in malls, but this food is delicious! Asian food is an overly saturated market in the Bay, especially the South Bay. I'm a native, and this restaurant sets its self apart from, and above the pack. Don't make a mistake by not eating here.

I must say I was a bit sceptical about this place thinking it was overrated and all the hype was artificially blown out of proportion by active TikTok users. I was so wrong! the restaurant is a true jem that offers the most amazing food and absolutely impeccable service. if I could give it 10 stars I'd happily do so. Everything we tried was superb, the peach green tea, the dumplings, the green beans, the hot and sour soup, was delightfully delicious. I can't wait to go back and try some other things. Thank you for this incredible dining experience!

Be the first to ReplyService is here is great.
No complaints. Overall the staff are welcoming & on top of the service they provide. Food is also good (but still over priced IMO). My family & I like to go here once in a while when we crave over priced food. Lol.Why 2 stars? Well it was the seating arrangements.I don't recommend coming here if you have a large party of 8 or more. I arrived at 1030a today & hostess was nice. Told me it's about a 30-45 min wait & I said that was fine. She also explained we may be sitting at 2 different tables (4/4). I asked if we would be close to each other & she said fairly but can't guarantee us being super close. I again said that was fine as long as our tables were semi close. Well we were texted to check in within 30 mins. They explained we were split into 2 tables, kind of close. We went to sit down & we were not close at all. We had a wall blocking us & my other family members were seated pretty far from us. How are we supposed to enjoy lunch with family when we can't even sit semi close. On top of that the tables next to use were cleaned about 10 mins after we were seated & that was enough space to put my family & i together. I would've been fine waiting a little longer if that was the case. Idk who or how they plan their seating but they should work on that. My family members sitting at the other table also got their food slower so they weren't done eating until half an hour after my table finished. Overall, I'd rather take food to go if I'm eating with my family. Even if you have reservations they also tell you for a large party they can't guarantee your party to sit all together. SMH.
Be the first to ReplyToo long for a wait 2-3 hours.
Cannot make reservation in advance on their website. No option but to wait for a very long time. I'm not desperate to wait just to eat in this place.
Be the first to ReplyThe food here is delicious, fresh, and hot.
Tried the Shrimp & Kurobuta Pork Shao Mai for the first time. It is unique with the shrimp ball on the top and a little serving of the soup on the bottom ... yum!NEVER TRIED DIM SUM?You might want to try a place with the traditional dim sum carts that enable you to see the dim sum before you make your selections for your first experience.Service is very hands on here, quick and thoughtful. Once you are familiar with the kind of dim sum you like, ordering from the menu like you do here enables them to get it to you much hotter and fresher than the traditional dim sum cart.I can see why they can have very long lines sometimes, but we came at opening and got in quickly. I like the display window where you can watch the dim sum being made. Once inside we found the ambiance to not be noisy, very casual and comfortable.Be aware that the prices here do not represent dim sum prices everywhere. It is on the expensive side, but it is also a really nice experience, so enjoy yourself.
Be the first to ReplyIt's always a treat coming to Din Tai Fung.
I came here for lunch on a Tuesday with a reservation and we sat down immediately. It was quite packed for a Tuesday so I would definitely recommend getting a reservation. We got the Steamed Soup with Bone-in Beef Short Ribs, Cucumber Salad, Pork Xiao Long Bao, Pork and Crab Xiao Long Bao, Kimchi and Pork Dumpling, and the Chocolate & Mochi Xiao Long Bao.Steamed Soup with Bone-in Beef Short Ribs- The soup was super flavorful and the short ribs were tender and delicious. It was definitely a light appetizer that warmed me up. Cucumber Salad- This was sooo refreshing although I wish that it was spicy. However, adding the chili oil to it hit the spot. I would definitely recommend this to eat with the Xiao Long Bao because it could become heavy at times.Pork Xiao Long Bao- This is what I came to Din Tai Fung for. I never have any complaints about this, they do it the best. The soup bursts into your mouth with every bite and the vinegar adds the most delicious tang. Crab and Pork Xiao Long Bao- I wanted to try the crab and pork for the flavor and it honestly had a great seafood flavor that I enjoyed. However, the OG pork is still my favorite.Kimchi and Pork Dumpling- The dumplings here were delicious too! They had a little less soup than the Xiao along Bao, but the flavors are unique. I wish that there was more kimchi flavor, but the subtleness is nice too.Chocolate & Mochi Xiao Long Bao- I didn't know what to expect from this but I enjoyed it, although I don't think it was worth the money. I didn't taste the mochi even though I think it was the wrapper. The chocolate was warm and gooey. Overall, I would 10/10 recommend Din Tai Fung, you can't go wrong!
Be the first to ReplyThe food was really good here.
Super delicious and the service was kind of slow due to being busy so I understand that it would take some time to serve. The price is quite expensive but other wise we enjoy the taste. The waiting was almost an hour as well. I don't know if it is worth waiting and paying that much of a price.

One of the best Taiwanese food places for Vegetarian and Vegan food along with unlimited options for meat lovers. Their Jidari chicken dumplings in Spicy sauce is to die for. I can literally eat it every single day and I mean it! I love their new vegan menu with lot of vegan noodle options and the peanut sauce one was very very good. Not to forget the steamed chocolate buns to end your mean which are one of the craziest desserts I have tried. You cannot not like this place. Pro tip: the wait for takeout is usually 2 -2.5 hrs long. Book a reservation atleast a week in advance for dine in.
