This place is located in the University Village in Seattle.
There are multiple locations. Reservations are highly recommended for parties of 5 or less. They do not take reservations for parties of 6 or more. You can watch them make fresh dumplings through a window in the restaurant. They are known for their soup dumplings which is so juicy and savory. Everything we ordered was so good. The wok fried noodles and chocolate dumplings were everyone's favorites. We'll definitely visit their other locations on future trips!

Heard about Din Tai Fung nonstop, so I had to see what all the fuss was about. If you want your dim sum fix or miss your Chinese Mom's homemade dumplings and potstickers, you're at the right spot. Bonus points if you want a boujee scene and want to feel fancy with great service. The chocolate buns are intriguing but tasty, the XLB is great, and the potstickers are crispy and juicy!
Be the first to ReplyAlways speedy service.
Certain 'go to' food I love there include their green beans and the veggie dumplings are great. Not many vegetarian options other than that but still great food. Bustling atmosphere if you like that. Kind of a drag they don't take reservations.
Be the first to ReplyDelicious and excellent service.
We ordered a number of dishes, all of which were fantastic, especially the dumplings.
Be the first to ReplyOur whole family loves Din Tai Fung.
Food is always great and Sarah's service was above and beyond. Really love that we could make a reservation so we could plan around later evening events.

Our absolute favorite place to frequent for fresh food and out of this world dumplings. Everything we've had on the menu so far has been a winner! Of course the xlb are their feature and are absolutely delicious. I've been surprised by how good the vegetable dishes like cucumbers and green beens are, they also make lots of great vegetable dumplings if you have vegetarians in your party. My favorite savory dish is the pork spicy wontons, the chili oil is just delicious. The sesame noodles were a surprise hit the last time we went as well. But, I have to say that the real star of the meal of me, are the chocolate mochi dumplings. There is no other way to describe this wild experience, it's like biting into a hot brownie lava! The texture and rich flavor are absolutely amazing, like nothing I have ever had. I could eat a whole order on my own. Service is courteous and efficient, we never wait long to eat here. Sometimes you can get a day of reservation on a weekday, but best to look a couple days out for prime times.

Love din tai fung don't go to dough zone go here! Their green beans, xia long bao, and stir fried noodles are so good. Very family friendly place and I like how they bring things out as they are ready so it feels like a continuous party.
Be the first to ReplyGreat service, the food was delectable.
I liked the pork soup dumplings over the crab and pork dumplings. The pork buns were a little bready to me, but that may be how they're supposed to be - I much preferred the dumplings over the buns. I had a salted cream black tea, which was so good. I really wanted to try the 8 treasure sticky rice, but I guess they removed it from the menu - a shame. The dessert of chocolate dumplings were so good, I would have ordered another plate if I hadn't filled up on the pork dumplings. They were like little pouches of authentic, thick drinking chocolate. It was a very busy place, rather loud, but it didn't feel too crowded. I loved watching the dumplings being made behind the glass.

This is a such a great place for Dim Sum!! So perfect every time we go. I took out of town folks who loved it as much as I do. It's so funny that if you go anywhere else in U-Village on a Tuesday it is pretty chill. Yet it's packed at Din Tai Fung!!
Be the first to ReplyExcellent food.
Spicy and tasty. Soup filled dumplings made in front windows for everyone to see.
Be the first to ReplyMashroom bun is good.
Dumplings are good. Fried rice is average. Went three times now. Food is fresh.
Be the first to ReplyBig restaurant beautiful interior design.
Soup dumplings for that price, got one dish not filling mind you my bill was over 20 dollars. Not bad but I didn't get close to feeling full
Be the first to ReplyLiterally 5 stars all the way around.
I've been to three different locations and all delicious and consistent. Obvi the soup dumplings are too die for. But also the noodles and the desert. Get the chocolate boa! So soft and the filling is almost brownie batter like. The teas are also delicious. Got the black passion tea and honey flavors, both so good. Please go there if you haven't tried it yet, there's a reason it's so popular! You can also see them make the dumplings!

o v e r a l l: 4/5I personally think Din Tai Fung is overhyped. Keep in mind that I don't eat pork or beef so I've never had their xiao long bao, which is probably the main reason people go to Din Tai Fung. Regardless of me thinking this place is overhyped, whenever I crave fish dumplings, Din Tai Fung is my go-to.w h a t d i d I t r y ?- vegan dumplings: 4/5I appreciate Din Tai Fung has a vegan/vegetarian option that does not suck, but out of the 3 dishes I ordered, this one was the least memorable.- fish dumplings: 4/5I've ordered this dish a few times prior and this was the first time I felt the fish was overcooked. It tasted a little dry. Other than that, they were yummy. I find myself not needing to dip the dumplings in soy sauce because the fish is cooked in a slightly salty. The dumpling wrapper is chewy rather than being soggy or firm.- noodle with sesame sauce: 3/5This a very savory, creamy noodle dish. Our server recommended it and though it didn't taste bad, it was not my personal favorite. The dish has a prominent nutty taste. I think for future noodle dishes, I'd prefer something light, sweet, and tangy to give help lighten up the dumplings, which I always order.p r i c e- vegetable dumplings: $7.25- fish dumplings: $15- noddle with sesame sauce: $10.75s e r v i c e: 6/5I did not have a reservation, but my friend and I were seated pretty quickly (~max 15-20 min wait). Furthermore, THAV, our server WAS AMAZING. By far the best server I've had in a long time. Though din Tai Fung was booked and busy, Thav made sure to check up on our table and gave us his full attention. He made me feel I was regular and talked to me like I was a friend. He also gave us great recommendations. He even drew a cute "thank you" doodle on my receipt before leaving.a t m o s p h e r e: 3/5The tables where I was seated were very close to each other. The space available to walk could literally fit only one person. Additionally, where I sat, it was very loud so I had to lean in to hear the person across from me. I would have given a higher rating if tables were seated a bit further from each other so I could hear the person across from me, but I also understand that might decrease seating and this wait times.r a t i n g b r e a k d o w n1: never ever again... 2: not very good, but at least something went right3: average.4: yummy, but something was lacking5: everything was perfect! I HAVE TO GO AGAIN
Be the first to ReplyI came here after spending most of the day shopping.
We had to wait for a few minutes but usually there seems to be longer waits as this place is super popular. it's always fun to watch the chefs make the dumplings! We ordered green beans, cucumber salad, Xiao long Bao buns, shrimp fried rice and wontons in chilli oil. We were so hungry, I forgot to take pictures of the fried rice and soup dumplings. The fried rice is my favorite although the shrimp on it could be seasoned a bit better. The green beans were also absolutely perfect. Overall we had a decent experience. I would have to go back again to pay more attention to my surroundings as I was pretty distracted by the delicious food!

Hands down best Din Tai Fung I've been to (and I've been to four others). Staff is super friendly and all about customer service. I ordered the wrong beef noodle soup, thought I ordered the spicy one with red soup base this was came out as clear broth. Waiter replaced it without hesitation. This particular location seemed a bit cleaner, friendlier and food was a bit better than the others...which are also great.
Be the first to ReplySuper yummy! I stopped in here and the food was delicious.
I really liked all the stuff on the menu.

Din Tai Fung never disappoints their special spicy sauce is one of my favorite things in life, and this was the first time I got their pot stickers which were like the ones we had in Japan beautifully crispy and a wonderful dipping sauce. I highly recommend it you won't be disappointed anytime someone visits us from out of town it's a must visit.

First time at Din Tai Fung, we arrived well before the dinner rush on a Saturday (roughly 4:00pm) and had a ~30 minute wait. We ordered a few dishes to try and it was delightful. Everything came out hot, steamy and super fresh. - Kurobuta Pork Xiao Long Bao- Vegetable & Kurobuta Pork Dumplings- Kurobuta Pork Bun- Cucumber SaladOne thing I will say about Din Tai Fung though is that it is quite pricy. The 2 main dishes and 2 sides that we ordered amounted to more than $50, and we probably could have eaten twice to three times as much as we did. If DTF was less pricy, it would have easily been a 5 star experience in my mind.
Be the first to ReplyWay overpriced for the portion sizes.
Family of like 4-5 wold drop at least $150 to have a halfway decent sized meal for each family member. Hard to order too.
Be the first to ReplyHands down, the best place to eat authentic Chinese food.
This place makes me feel so nostalgic because their cooking reminds me so much of my Mom's cooking. This Din Tai Fung location is conveniently located in the University Village Shopping Center-- a plus when you've shopped until you dropped and feel hungry. I highly recommend making reservations online if you're planning to go during dinner hours to avoid the long wait time. I usually go during lunch hours to avoid the crowd. Not going to lie...but I was ecstatic when they came out with their new menu (last year) with several vegan dishes. My staples are: vegan dumplings, vegan spicy dumplings, vegan Shanghai rice cakes, and the vegan bun. You must give this a try. I promise you that the flavor is not compromised! I also recommend trying their pork xiaolongbao, braised beef soup with noodles, and iced honey green tea. I know that DTF is known for their food, but I feel like their boba teas are underrated. I've tried many boba shops in Seattle, and nothing compares-- either too watered down or lack tea fragrance. Sometimes when I'm thirsty, I just order their tea drinks to-go while running my errands. All in all, I can say that this is my most favorite restaurant to eat at. It never disappoints.
Be the first to ReplyMy favorite XLBs.
I mostly come here for the XLBs and the cucumber salad, both are amazing. Garlic green beans are a great veg complement to the dumplings. Chicken soup broth is alright but steep $ for what you get. Tried the chocolate mochi dumpling dessert and it was good, but rich. Will definitely be returning for more XLBs in the future.

A larger group helps with the wait -- our party of seven came on a Saturday around 1:00, and we only had about a 15-minute wait. Our server was really nice, and we never felt rushed.Pro tips:- Ask to keep the lid to keep your steamed order warm- Get shrimp fried rice and, separately, the fried pork chop appetizer (since you can't do the reverse)Things to try next time:- Seaweed & Bean Curd appetizer- Soy Noodle Salad appetizer- Sesame & Mochi XLB dessert

The best dim sum in the city! The BBQ pork ribs are amazing and the dumplings are light and flavorful. Modern, sleek, clean and efficient Din Tai Fung windows bring in natural daylight. I have never seen any clutter even though the restaurant is packed. I love watching the chefs making the dumplings in the sparkling clean kitchen. The servers are efficient and friendly. My favorite go to place for steaming hot noodles.
Be the first to ReplyDin Tai Fung does not live up to the hype.
It's over priced and not that good. The service is usually pretty slow too but I understand it's because they're so busy all the time.
