Don's prime Las Vegas Reviews from The Last Year
The atmosphere is beautiful, the service impeccable.
The food and beverage offering for quite good as well. Unfortunately, at a table for four, all for safe we're overcooked with the variety of options across the street of the valley, I don't think we will be returning.
We came in here with no reservations right after the ACT
We came in here with no reservations right after the ACT Expo closed, and though there weren't any tables immediately available they let us sit in the bar where we found a nice corner booth! Even though the bar area suddenly became packed with convention goers, service was still good. We didn't find a Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc on the wine list which surprised us but the sommelier Robert, came out to explain to us an alternative which was very good. I actually appreciated all his advice, it was like we got a free lesson from him. Aside from that the food was very very good and I will be back to try the steak next time!
Very nice place.
Great service, and great staff. Modern and up to date classy atmosphere.
Horrible customer service
Horrible…. We had this planned flr 3 months and we were 3 minutes late theh woukd sit us. Horrible…… 0/5. Screw this place
Don's Prime checks all 3 boxes, food, service and ambiance
Don's Prime checks all 3 boxes, food, service and ambiance for an exquisite night out in Las Vegas. I've been there several times (I'm a local) and Don's never disappoints. The bar, cocktail lounge and dining rooms are stunning. The decor is velvet, polished silver, marble , art deco, great classic music to visually set the tone for your evening. The food is beautifully plated and carefully prepared. I especially love to nibble on their bread service with a glass of champagne. Then however they cook their shrimp cocktail it's delicious. Again, more champagne please. Sometimes they have Foley scallops. Divine and sweet as candy. The mashed potatoes are sinful but worth every calorie. I've had Dover sole and lamb chops as well ! All amazing . The service is impeccable because John the GM drives his team to deliver on excellence and strives to make every guest feel welcome and extra special. Every time I've been to Don's I come away feeling like I can't wait for next time . So get dressed up and prepare yourself for a lovely experience in an elegant setting . Partake in specialty drinks prepared table side . You'll love every minute .
Don's Prime was an experience.
It was our anniversary and we couldn't of had chosen a better spot. The ambiance coming in is luxurious. Greeter and all of the servers made sure to tell us happy anniversary and i was not expecting that! Service was impeccable, and food was delicious. Tomahawk was cooked and seasoned to perfection. After we finished our food, we got a complimentary chocolate desert with the writing "Happy Anniversary". If you have an anniversary coming up I HIGHLY recommend Don's Prime!
Outstanding service by Angel and Rachel.
Highly attentive, very knowledgeable of the food and wine, specially Angel's expert advice on off-menu items like the sourced-from-the-loin Snake River Farms wagyu filet mignon. This was the most tender and best tasting steak we have ever eaten anywhere in the world! Coupled with the fine quality of American Wagyu - the ultimate in tender, high-quality beef - Snake River Farms wagyu filet mignon was the showcase at our dinner table at Don's Prime. Don's Prime has the perfect ambience, impeccable service, premium grade wagyu steaks paired with excellent wine.We can't wait to tell everyone (plus four hours of free parking)!

The whole staff was amazing (from the hosts, to the bartender, and the waiters and then the manager)! The food was delicious and the feel of the place was great, but the service was impeccable.

Located in the Fountainebleau Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, this steakhouse was a delight! The service was AMAZING! I wish I remembered our server's name but she was so nice and helpful. The steaks are really large so you definitely can share a steak with someone. We ordered the dry aged bone in NY strip. I didn't like the fois gras that we ordered, but everything else was amazing including the presentation. The steak could have been better with an enhancement. In relooking at the menu, I should have ordered it with the peppercorn sauce. The asparagus was awkward with the panko and cheese. Since we did a walk in, we sat in a corner table off the bar area. I think this ended up better as we had our own table away from the main dining area which was super loud.
If you're a meat lover, you must go to Don's Prime
If you're a meat lover, you must go to Don's Prime located within the Fontainebleau. The Dry Aged Bone-In Rib Eye Oscar style with king crab and caviar was the best dry aged steak I've ever had. Slightly beating out Joe's Seafood at Caesars Forums. Their mash was amazing like a puree with butter and beef fat, and their shrimp cocktail was amazing. They use beef bullion to give it an umami flavor along with an amazing cocktail and radish sauce. The free bread was also extraordinary. 10 out of 10. However, everything there is very pricey compared to other steakhouses. But hey, it's Vegas and YOLO.
Absolutely incredible experience at Don's tonight! I had
Absolutely incredible experience at Don's tonight! I had the privilege of being part of the Las Vegas Leadership group, and we could not have been more taken care of! The service was quick and wonderful and everyone was friendly and amazing. Our servers Kaitlin and Jennifer and David were unbelievable and kept everything moving through our prix fix meal. We started with asparagus risotto, Caesar salad, and the house salad for the table and all 3 were unbelievable. Caesar was the winner for me but again everything was 10 out of 10. For my meal I had the filet mignon with buttery mashed potatoes and a red wine au jus, and again, 10 out of 10. Literally the potatoes melted in my mouth and the steak was cooked to absolute perfection. We ended the night with the s'mores, carrot cake, and creme brulee, and all 3 were incredible, but the creme brulee was maybe the best I've ever had. Couple all this with the amazing service and the delicious craft cocktails, and I was absolutely blown away. If you're in town, Don's is the way to go. You will hopefully be just as blown away as I was.
Great view of the Bellagio fountain show.
Great view of the Bellagio fountain show. Awesome steaks. Very attentive service. A but pricey for a family dinner but we only line once!
Nice location fair meal
It was ok. My wife had the shrimp cocktail and a salad. I had the ribeye. Nothing fantastic on either. I truely believe I can do a better job with a Costco steak on my backyard grill. The wine was good as expected. And of course I guess you for the location. Only wishes the food was better. Prime didn’t meet my expectations.
Wonderful experience
Michael how server was wonderful. He was funny and respected and very nice. Love the atmosphere and the environment. Will definitely love to return next time I am in the area.
TOP STEAK HOUSE
We went to dinner our first night at this restaurant and we had a great time. Starting with the hostess who gave us a place at the bar, she was very kind because we arrived an hour before our reservation. The attitude of the bartender is incredible. The waiter's service was very good and above all he described each dish we ordered very well. The quality of the food is top notch, everything is very delicious. The wine we ordered was very good (Jordan) but I think the sommelier needs a little more fine service when serving the wine. We will definitely return!!
We were there for our 28thh anniversary and my 66th birthday .66th birthday experience.
We were there for our 28th anniversary and my 66th birthday. It was their second chance to make me feel better about their service, and, I'm done. We had dinner at the Palm the night before and the filet mignon was so much better than what I received here at Prime. My wife orders the fish, and she wasn't very impressed. We've had dinner there before and the food and the service was over the top. Somehow that has degraded. In my correspondence with them three times before we got there, I asked to sit outside by the fountains. When it came to seating us, they put us inside. I would have paid whatever it cost to sit outside for our occasion. And then when it came down to dessert, they forgot about our anniversary and my birthday. There's so many choices in Las Vegas for dinner, but for the Prime, never again. I used to recommend them to my friends and family but never again.
The food is excellent.
The staff is top notch. If you can ask for Amanda. She's the best. Makes an amazing smoked old fashion.
My friends and I decided to give Don's Prime a try for my
My friends and I decided to give Don's Prime a try for my husband's birthday! It was 5 of us, we were sat at a table that would comfortably sit 4 but 5 was too much. We were greeted right away and drink recommendations were given. Our server made a drink for me and my husband ordered an Old Fashioned. His was supposed to be a dance smoked Old Fashion but the machine didn't work. We received a delicious bread before our dinner order was taken. Hubby ordered a steak and I sea bass with spinach as a side. I had the risotto as an appetizer and it was so good!! It should be a main dish!! The atmosphere is very upscale. The service was great other than the issue with the smoke machine. For the price point that machine should always work. Anyways, I enjoyed the experience and so did my husband, mission accomplished!
A MUST in LV!
Outstanding in every single way! We had dinner here our last night in Las Vegas. Unfortunately we had a very long disappointing tour earlier that day, so in all honesty I wasn’t even that keen on going out to dinner that night. I’m so glad my husband talked me into trying this restaurant. We didn’t have reservations, and I wasn’t wearing my preferred clothing for this type of establishment, but the hosts invited us in like we were welcomed friends, giving us options to dine at the bar or wait until a little later for a table. We chose to sit at the bar, and I’m very happy we did! The seats were surprisingly comfortable to start. We were greeted with outstanding service from Lauren (whatever you’re paying her, it’s not enough!). Then the food—what can I say that can do it justice?! I don’t think the words exist. Every single bite had absolutely perfect flavor, texture, and temperature. We’ve been lucky enough to experience some truly great meals all over the world, and this was one of the top ones, if not the best. The entire experience not only turned our day completely around, but also allowed us to leave Las Vegas on a wonderful note. Thank you, Prime—we can’t wait to return!
An awesome experience.
Food and team were extraordinary. Special thanks to Manager John, wait staff Logan, Rob and Ishmael for helping to make a great evening .
Best steakhouse in Las Vegas right now.
Gorgeous restaurant, impeccable service, and delectable food. We loved everything - cocktails, starter bread, crabcake, salad, steaks, and sides. Prices are similar to other steakhouses. Highly highly recommend trying this place! We will definitely be back.
Waiters & views great - steaks & front of house, not so much.
We booked this restaurant having been told the dining scene was outstanding in vegas. Unfortunately that wasn’t our experience. The front of house staff were not that friendly or welcoming. We swung by before our reservation to see if there was likelihood of being seated earlier to no avail- totally understandable, we asked in the off chance we got lucky. She then informed us we’d actually be seated late as they were running behind schedule. After we learned we couldn’t move fwd our reservation we took off for a while to change into long trousers to meet their dress code requirement (seems not everyone abides, whilst we were seated we witnessed a couple in a sports shirt and another gentleman in shorts) and waited until our original booking time. After returning we were told we’d have to wait in the hall. I insisted we could wait in the bar and we sat there for 35 mins past our booking time…with no updates in that time. I was about to approach the desk to ask when we could expect our table when they came fwd to seat us. By this point I was quite irked at the service, or lack of. Once seated I was pleased that our waiter was great- the inside staff are definitely next level customer service vs front of house. He was so attentive, chatty and welcoming. The sides we ordered were wonderful, portion sizes very generous. Our steaks (the main reason for our visit to this particular steakhouse) were average at best. We’ve eaten in many high end steak restaurants around the world and we had such high hopes but the steaks were not great. The waiter commented on how much fat there was left; to be expected with a steak (our favourite dining option) but not to that level. I’m totally on board with charging through the nose in tourist hotspots but at least back it up with quality especially with a chefs name at the helm - our expectations far exceeded the reality of this visit. The views in the restaurant were lovely though and staff inside super attentive. It was thanks to the view and our waiter we still enjoyed our experience, but 400 dollars lighter, sadly!
Was the food great? Sure.
Was the service great? Impeccable. They typically have two wait staff assigned to each table from what I observed. I'm not-by any means-"cheap". My wife and I make $290k/yr combined and have minimal expenses outside of the norm. I tip 20% as a baseline for even bad service without personality issues and a lot of times end up at 1/3 of the bill as a tip. The fact that you are charging $18+ for SIDES let alone all of your steaks being $100+ is disgusting and basically disappointing. We had a delicious meal with good service that cost $489 plus $150 tip for a total of $639. This is absurd and good for the ppl on here that believe it's "vegas baby" or whatever, but I will never ever pay these kind of prices again for food I could get for $150 off strip plus a $15 Uber ride, that tastes every bit as good and don't feel the stench of elitism while I'm eating.
This place is phenomenal.
The service and staff are top notch. Extremely knowledgeable and patient, the entire experience was incredible. I ordered the 4 Jumbo Shrimp, the 9oz Filet, Creamed Spinach, Asparagus and a double Don Julio 70 neat, and everything was perfect. Only draw back was the noise level, but besides that, it was great.
We dined here Sunday night to celebrate my wife's birthday
We dined here Sunday night to celebrate my wife's birthday and our wedding anniversary. We're locals but we were joined by her cousins and brother from CA, so 6 of us. I left a message on their VM about 430 pm to request a table with a little privacy. Upon checking in at 7, we were shown to a table for 4, which they added 2 seats on each end to "accommodate" 6 persons. It was really upsetting and disappointing and actually offending that they would seat 6 adults at this table. The table next to us was a table for 2. The distance between our table to next was no more than 2 feet......so much for privacy. And NO, the place the restaurant was not full. I wanted to leave but I didn't want to ruin her night. I asked the server to move us and she immediately commented that she was glad I asked because she knew the table was TOO small for 6 people. Whoever thought that adding 2 seats to a table for 4 to seat 6 was OK, should be fired. The Tomahawk and New York strip was average. So was the Filet mignon. We ordered 2 Halibut which was very dry and chewy. The French fries definitely below average. The side spinach was very rich and creamy. The side mushrooms were really good. The dinner bread and pretzels was probably the best tasting food on the table. Our server sharelle was very good. She has a great personality, too.
I had sent a letter to your business customer service
I had sent a letter to your business customer service department 5 weeks ago concerning our "experience" at your restaurant on January 27th. It is really disappointing that you have not responded, not a good customer relations approach. We were there to celebrate our 57th wedding anniversary. Unfortunately we never had a chance to enjoy the food and our celebration because the sprinklers went off in the kitchen and food could not be served. I understand that "things" happen but I expected an answer from my questions in the letter from your executive management. Very disappointing and not a good way to start off your steak house business in a very competitive steak house restaurant business in the las Vegas community
Outstanding service, the food was excellent, drinks even
Outstanding service, the food was excellent, drinks even better. Prices were a little high, but not out of range for vegas prices.
New fun experience
Absolutely love this place Tabby is fantastic definitely will come here again and recommend to many of my friends. Must come and try this place.
New York Steak, fresh Oysters were good quality.
Never enjoy rested steak, waiter was able to accommodate. Didn't care for reservation with credit card guarantee charge for no show. Wine list is a lot to be desired. For people to show off with no taste.
Fabulous view, great service, food less special
We received the same text as others have done about the minimum spend ($175pp) to sit outside on the terrace, but when we enquired about a fountain view inside, they were happy to sit us there without that requirement. And the fountain show IS very special, the style of it changes every 15 minutes, so you could be listening to waving fountains synched to opera/ pop or classical music and the patio is the place to see them. The food was fine. Probably the best dish we had was the tuna tartare, but the dressing needed to be a little sweeter. Seafood platter was okay, prawns had been overcooked though and were tough. We had a side of broccoli - which was unnecessarily covered in a thick cheese sauce and the roasted carrots were too sweet. It's not somewhere I'd choose to eat without the view, but with it, it probably was worth the price tag. It does need the exec chef to sit down and review all the dishes as a few tweeks would improve the food immeasurably.
Too much Buck for the Bang!
My wife wanted to try this restaurant for her birthday dinner, I made the reservation as such. Seating was timely. The website described a dress code which on our night was nonexistent; men in t-shirts, women casual. TV’s on walls with ball games. Our dining experience felt very rushed, we had 3 courses but felt the staff was pushing us through, seemed almost every time we put down a fork, they were asking if they could take the plate. Food quality was good, but no better than many other steakhouses on the high end….prices were MUCH higher. At the end of our dinner, we were trying to enjoy our drinks but when we didn’t order dessert, we received the check, which was felt to be a signal that “it’s time for you to go, we need to turn over this table”. No complementary sweet for the birthday girl, as many other restaurants do. All in all, a disappointing $350 experience for two diners. We have taken this place off our list.
$175 per person minimum.
When I made the reservations, we were not told of a per person minimum. When we get there, the hostess lowers her voice and asks. "Can you meet this requirement?" My guests were not ordering what they wanted. They were meeting a per person minimum and doing math! Service was horrible. Took the waiter 30 minutes to approach us. Heater was scolding. We were told they couldn't lower it, and then an hour later, someone came out with a remote and lowered it. The to go container was thrown on our table. The manager's fix was to offer her card for when we dine there next time.....no thanks. Never again.
Beautiful- worth the money!
Beautiful setting - expensive but worth it for the view / setting. Ask for seat on patio - we had excellent view of fountains, was magical. Food was lovely - we really enjoyed it. Also thought the service was very good. We booked for my mum’s 60th - it asks when booking what occasion is. After dinner they brought her out a plate with some macaroons with happy birthday written on - they did this completely unprompted, a really nice touch. Cocktails good too! Inconsistent portions sizes would be the only thing - some of our sides were huge and would feed 2/3 people. Other sides at a similar price were much smaller and definitely would only be for 1 person. Maybe ask when ordering as I think we over-ordered on sides. Overall would absolutely recommend for a special occasion!
Steak with a view??
Not the greatest place for a nice meal. Felt rushed ( not sure how many times they have to keep topping up your wine glass) Steak was ok, but certainly not the best. You are paying for the view, but the view is not visible from the middle of the restaurant. A disappointment really
Not up to expectations
We were seated near the bar area and the TVs in the bar were very distracting. We came to Prime for an upscale dining experience but the TVs ruined that. I do have to say that the staff and servers were excellent and very attentive. I had the ribcap but was disappointed in the quality. Quite a bit of it was chewy. I’m not sure we’ll go back. There are too many other options on the Strip and since there was some disappointment in the meal we may want to go elsewhere next time."
Did not live up to expectations
A group of us went for a night out.... We were a group of 8 and we all agreed that the food was way overpriced and did not live up to expectations. Steaks were average at best and sides were ok ... not somewhere we would return to

I have a notice stating that my bid has been accepted and is awaiting transfer. The reservation is for the 18th, but the “moderator” said he will confirm booking by the 28th. Is this an indicator that I may not have a reservation?

Hey @EvocativeFold67, welcome to appointmenttrader! Once the reservation is in your portfolio, you definitely own the timeslot, the review team would not have approved the trade if the reservation wasn't confirmed - so you are going :-) Judging from your post you bid today and are going tomorrow - don't worry as long as you initiated the name transfer, you are good - the transfer service has to work with the opening hours of the reservation team of the respective venue. You will likely see the transfer confirmation a couple hours before your reservation time.
