Great service, delicious cuisine!
First, and foremost, our server Donna! An engaging professional who made our experience the best. She was the absolute highlight of the evening. Our dinner was delicious starting with salads. The Wedge came perfectly chilled on a chilled plate. The warm Goat cheese salad was perfectly seasoned and delicious. Ahi Tuna perfection served rare. Medallions of Beef Oscar with a more than ample amount of Lump Crabmeat. A special dessert was presented that made us feel exceptional and special. We highly recommend Eddie Vs if you are looking for a fine dining experience in San Diego.

Best high class bar in San Diego! Good live music, Great food, and exquisite cocktails. Armin and Chris are always providing top service as lead bartenders. They are truly professionals, make you feel like home.

Very nice looking and feeling high end steak house. It offered both inside (2 floors) and outdoor seating as well as a vibrant bar area. We sat inside on the first floor. There was a very pleasant Jazz band that played during dinner. Our table had a greeting card for us and ride bus as we were celebrating our anniversary. Our waiter was Robert who was very knowledgeable, responsive and personable. We were given a complimentary glass of champagne. We had the lobster bisque and baratta as starters, both were excellent. We ordered the NY strip and filet mignon as main courses. The filet seemed to be overcooked, but before we could ask the waiter, the manner came over and apologized that they had delivered the order to the wrong table. Very impressed as they brought the problem to our attention. I would heartily recommend this place and look forward to trying others in this chain.

We were ushered in almost immediately even though we were a early for our reservation. Nice Interior dedign with a mix of tables and booths. The menu is a little limited. All entrรฉes are served with no sides. You have to order them ala carte. The Appetizers selection was nice, especially the c selection of oysters. The single crab cake was one of the best that we've had. And it was large enough for two of us to split. My wife had the scallops, which were sweet and very favorable. My parmesian sole was too salty. Maybe it was drenched in butter sauce. Way too much sauce, at least for me. I couldn't eat it all because of that. If the fish hadn't been drenched in butter, it would have rated a 5.

We were able to get a reservation easily. Food was fresh and deliciously seasoned and cooked to perfection. Staff was helpful, friendly, and very accommodating. Atmosphere was upscale and not too noisy.

Overall we had a great experience on this occasion (our 17th wedding anniversary). This location has a nice "vibe" that we like. We also like the live music. The one damper on the evening was the waitress felt it necessary to explain to us what ala cart meant. I don't know if that was because we are Black or if that is due to some other criteria she used. On previous occasions we've eaten at Eddie V's La Jolla, Fleming's, Truluck's, Ruth Chris and Donovan's La Jolla to name a few, so we're quite familiar with what ala cart means. That comment factored into the tip and this review. Suggestion to restaurant management: Please advise your staff to not make assumptions about the guests. Let the questions from the guests guide the interaction or ask if guests have any questions about the menu.

Great food, great bar service and fantastic food. Everything about my two nights in a row at Eddie Vโs was fantastic. The jazz music in the bar was great. You will pay the same here as you would for many of the tourist traps in the gas lamp districtโฆ except Eddie Vโs food will always be great. The 12 oz filet, sautรฉed spinach and Brussels sprouts without the sweet stuffโฆ delicious.

Amazing experience! Was in from out of town visiting a close friend and we eat here occasionally when Iโm in town. Last nights experience was one of my best weโve ever had! Our server Charles was one of the best weโve ever had. He was attentive and always shows up moments before we weโre about to look for him for something. We were celebrating my friends birthday and the restaurant and Charles made it one for the record books!!
Be the first to ReplyWould never make it in LAS VEGAS!
5* hostess - polite and friendly awesome job! 3* table buds - poured water to guests without asking - couldnโt wait to take away plates - even when done done with! 5* down to 2* server - started awesome, polite, attentive and informative. However as the evening went on I guess our โtime was upโ - Serving dishes removed whilst my daughter was still mid dinner. - No additional cocktails offered (we had two each the whole meal). - My wifeโs surprise desert was thrust onto the table and lit (for her b day) whilst my daughter was still eating. - We declined additional deserts as it had all became a bit โrushedโ - check dropped on table (it was incorrect) - but fixed. - I left 15% tip (usually I tip between 20-25%). If the restaurant needed the table - they should have set us off on a stop watch from the start!!! We wondered why Las Vegas doesnโt have an Eddie Vโs - we know why now. Wouldnโt last 6 months in this customer service capital! Unfortunate - musicians were awesome for what itโs worth.

What a excellent experience. Even tough they are a smaller chain, the food blew us away! Didnโt make reservations and there was a hour wait, so we ate at the bar. Live music - good but not intrusive set a great start. Extensive wine list and good drinks list. Staff was friendly, professional, and knowledgeable. We had to try a crab cake, because we try them everywhere we go a,d this is one of the, if not the, best one to date. Jumbo lump mix with very little filler and a crunchy top, it was 7oz! So great to split. We also had the lobster tacos which had a melding of flavors so good that they almost overshadowed the crab cake. Filet was cooked correctly and of good quality and I had the Chilean sea bass. Oh my! It was in a savory broth and melted in my mouth like butter. One of the best yet! The crab fried rice was an excellent side. Just a lovely meal that got better and better. Will definitely put Eddie Vโs on my do not miss list wherever they are located.
Be the first to ReplyNot a Great Experience
Although we had a reservation, we had to wait 20 minutes for a table to open up to be seated. The service was lackluster. We ordered a lot of food and drinks. Some were good; some were okay. The bathrooms were either smelly or dirty; the water pressure was too low, so it took a long time to rinse hands (there was another patron who experienced the same thing). A manager was supposed to come to talk to us but never did. I had to ask again near the end. She was apologetic., Desserts came, but we did not order or want them. I suppose they were available as it was getting late at night, so it was a convenient way to get ride of them and try to appease unsatisfied customers. It would have been much more gracious to take an appetizer or two off the bill. We spent a lot of money. For that kind of money and the high prices they charge, I thought the entire experience was disappointing.

Celebrated our anniversary and it couldnโt have been more special, from the rose petals on the table, to the personalized note, complimentary champagne and dessert made it so special, the food was amazing, and the live music was the cherry on top!
Be the first to ReplyBest Dining Experience Anywhere in San Diego
My wife and I just celebrated our 40th Wedding Anniversary at Eddie V's San Diego based on friends' recommendations. It was the best recommendation we could have gotten. We've lived in San Diego for more than 30 years and have tried a broad spectrum of the entire restaurant industry including most of the high end restaurants. We both agreed that Eddie V's is the best restaurant we've ever experienced anywhere around San Diego County. Everything was perfect. Our knowledgeable friendly waiter was ready to explain details and let us try things. No time schedule pressure. The portions, all alacarte, were big and excellently prepared. The calamari appetizer, something restaurants do not always get right, was cooked perfectly and sized so that it could have served as an entree for two. Without asking, my wife's a-bit-too-sweet cocktail was compted. We were met with a very nice handwritten anniversary card on our table with red rose petals. A complimentary dessert plate came with 4 options including a flambรฉ banana selection. The smoky Old Fashioned cocktails have a marvelous layered flavor that extends beyond the initial sips. We will be back soon for the Happy Hour. It was the perfect dining experience.

We had a great time here. The restaurant is expensive, but they deliver in the high price. The service was exceptional - our waiter (shout out to Charles) was quite attentive and gave excellent recommendations. The food was delicious. We ordered different appetizers, salads, and sides to shared. Some people got the beef and some got the sea bass and everyone loved their food. If youโre going to pay a lot you expect a lot and they delivered on all fronts.
Be the first to ReplyExpensive, and worth every penny!
This was a fantastic meal! We shared a crab cake appetizerโฆ probably the best weโve ever had. For main course, we had the Branzino fish and the spicy Halibut, and shared a side dish of crab fried rice. All were outstanding! Luckily we asked the waitress about the portion sizes beforehand, as all were quite generous, so the two of us easily shared the appetizer and side dish. The service was impeccable too. This is an expensive place, but you definitely get what you pay for.
Be the first to ReplyAwesome seafood and surprisingly good value for the price!
We were on a four week roadtrip and wanted to do something special for our last night before we flew home. We chose a dinner at Eddie V's and were NOT disappointed. On the contrary, the evening was lovely. We had the fried calamary, which were interpreted in a bit of an asian style, which was refreshing. The Lobster Bisque was excellent! It was very fresh, smooth and well-rounded. It went along great with the cream, the fresh pepper and the roasted bread. You could really tell someone has put some love into composing that dish. As an entree, we shared the "Big Eddie", which is the larger version of the seafood tower. It consists of oysters, king crab, shrimp and two hole main lobsters. All of that was of very high quaity and tasted amazing. The wine menu is pretty extensive as well and it's likely you'll find something that goes along well with your dish as well as your taste. Service was attentive without being obtrusive and very helpful - excellent. We've eaten a lot of seafood in many different countries and Eddie V's in San Diego is undoubtedly among the very best places we've visited. Also, we were pleasently surprised by the comparatively generous portion sizes. Many restaurants in this price class serve way less. Considering this, the pricing is totally okay in my mind. We paid $300 including tip, wine, two appetizers, a huge seafood tower and dessert. That's okay for a special occasion! Thanks to the team for making our last night in the US a stunning one! We enjoyed both the atmosphere and the food a lot.
Be the first to ReplyWonderful Experience
I treated myself to a dining experience at Eddie V's for my birthday. The only reservation available was at a high top but when arriving they had a wonderful booth ready for me near the bar (which I preferred), close to live entertainment. They decorated my table for me for my birthday and made it really special. All the staff were friendly and smiling, the ambiance was great, and the lighting really enhanced the atmosphere. I started with an appetizer recommended by the sweetest couple at the bar, the crab cakes, and they were superb! The crab cakes were one of the highlights of the meal. For dinner I ordered the filet (med rare), truffle mac and cheese, and brussel sprouts. All were very delicious but if I did it again, I have something else other than the steak. The steak was cooked perfectly, I've just had better. The mac and cheese I would recommend and order again. The brussels were delicious but again, I've had better elsewhere. For dessert I ordered the creme brulee and that was delicious. As a gift they did give me a dessert treat, I believe it was Banana Foster's and sorbet, both were very tasty. I would recommend Eddie V's for a date night experience or is you just want to treat yourself (like me)

This was our third time dining at Eddie Vโs. We keep going back not just because the food is good but also because the wait staff is outstanding. This time, our waiter Charles, did not disappoint. Very friendly and attentive. He had good recommendations on the drinks and the food and he really helped make our time there a great experience. We were celebrating my birthday and they had the table nicely decorated. As always, the cocktails and the food were excellent. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Best meal we have had in San Diego. Beautiful location, nice ambience and delicious food. Service was impeccable. Would return again.

This was the worst experience. Long wait, cold steak and bad service. Any other seafood or steakhouse in San Diego will be better.

Iโve been to Eddie Vโs in Scottsdale as well as San Diego here and it is very consistent with great service great drinks and great food. You know youโre going to pay more coming to Eddie Vโs, but the experiences worth it
Be the first to ReplyAmazing!! Ate there twice during our vacation! Go-Youโll be so happy you did!
This restaurant is awesome!! From the host to the bar with live music to the service and most importantly the food!! It was so good my husband and I ate there twice during our 5 day vacation in San Diego. Itโs right across the street from the Hyatt Manchester Grand where we were staying. It was our Anniversary and they brought us dessert & champagne on the house, plus a card & rose. So thoughtful!! We had the filet & it was incredible! Best Iโve ever had and we are from Iowa so thatโs saying a lot! We also had the sea bass & WOW!! We also had a lobster tail & crab stuffed shrimp. The stuffed shrimp was excellent!! So delicious! The wedge can NOT be beat! For apps we had shashimi (small portion but it packed a punch) and the calamari which was huge & sooooo good!!! For sides we had the crab fried rice and while good, we were too full to eat it. Go here! Fast! Order anything. You will not regret it! We will definitely be back!!

Iโm staying at the Grand Hyatt and there are a lot of high end or below average spots near the hotel. I decided to go to Eddie Vโs instead of one of the steakhouses and it was fantastic. The happy hour is really good - it gets a lot busier after 6:00 so go earlier to guarantee a seat if youโre more than one person. I had the Caesar salad off the dinner menu, the mini filet burgers and the sashimi off the happy hour menu. All were unique and fantastic. And $8 for good wine is a true deal. Love this place!
