One of the BEST Greek/Mediterranean restaurants I have been
One of the BEST Greek/Mediterranean restaurants I have been to...period! From the calamari to the hummus to the Greek salad and spanakopita...everything was delicious! Our main entrees were lamb chops with Greek potatoes. Phenomenal flavor, taste and preparation. If I could give them 6 stars I would. Definitely a return visit! Do yourself a favor and eat here.

Finally got around to trying this place and went during restaurant week with my two girlfriends. The ambience of this place is wonderful!! As you walk in you feel like you are walking into Greece. (The only thing is the part we were sitting was a little too dark but otherwise the decor is great). Love the decor and everything. The service was outstanding as well. Our server was very attentive. We all got the restaurant week menu and I got the Mussels Saganaki, Lavraki, and for dessert I got the Baklava rolls. My friends got different items from the restaurant menu. I tried a bite of their dishes and every dish was excellent!!! This is def a great place for restaurant week and will be coming here often. I can see why this is one of the highly rated restaurants in Philly and why everyone raves about this place!!
Be the first to ReplyOne of my favorite restaurants I go to in the city.
The quality of the food is amazing and the staff is just great. They are so hospitable, especially this one Greek man that was taking care of me during my birthday. I highly recommend! Great for groups and reservations are quite easy. Not sure how it'll be without a reservation. Definitely try their espresso martini! Food/Drinks: All amazing! I would recommend doing their sample menu if you want to try a bit of everything. However, you'd have to be hungry because it's a ton of food. I had their lobster pasta, roasted chicken, and lamb chops, and they were all delicious. True to the $$$. Ambience: Amazing! Makes you feel like you're in Greece, haha. Great for groups. Can bring a date as well but it's a bit loud. Rating: 9/10 Pros: Lamb chops Cons: In middle of city so street parking might be tough. Lot parking available, but can be expensive

Great service, OUTSTANDING FOOD! So good I almost forgot to take photos. The seating space excellent as well. I have nothing to say about this place except that my wife and I really enjoyed the food/meals. Will definitely be coming back to try other dishes.
Be the first to ReplyPerfect place for pre-theater, pre-orchestra meal.
They have a reasonable pre-theater prix fixe menu. Expert and warm service, delicious food -- the lamp chops were excellent. As was tasty Greek salad and perfectly crispy on the outside, moist on the inside roast chicken. Don't miss the lemony potatoes. The ambience is fun for a group, not particularly cozy if you're looking for that vibe. Overall this is a win!

Made reservations thinking Estia was an Italian restaurant, but to our surprise turned out to be one the best meals I've had. If you're ever in Philly Estia is a MUST!!!

We had a wonderful dinner here for my sisters birthday! The service was great and all of the food tasted great. The chicken lemon soup and the estia chips were AMAZING. I really wanted to take an extra order home with me but luckily had leftovers. For entrees we had the salmon, roasted chicken with yogurt and lamb chops. Each tasted great and the portions were enough to take some home. Overall a great experience and we'll definitely be back!

This establishment is located near city hall in downtown Philly. It offers a great atmosphere and ambience, but more importantly, the Greek cuisine served here is terrific. It provides a pre-set option of three course meal at a set price. Entrees presentation was excellent, and tastes superb. Waiting staff was friendly and explained specials of the day. Portions were generous, and orders came out at a good pace. So whether you're in town for a play/show, or simply visiting the attraction, Estia would be a good place to sample fine Greek cuisine.

The food here is excellent, which is probably why this place has lasted so long. Ambiance not bad either, for what it is. However, the service is inconsistent, unfortunately; in my recent visits within the past few months, service has ranged from excellent (bar and server staff) to extremely disingenuous and rude (hostess) This is something management should look into. One or two bad actors can sometimes sour a customer's experience permanently.
Be the first to ReplyDo NOT order off the theater menu dinner.
The server talked us into ordering it and led us to believe that what we ordered was included in the 40.00 amount. She even stated, I do not know why people do the 60.00 restaurant week menu because the theater menu is much cheaper. Even worse was the manager who repeatedly told us there was nothing he can do to change our bill. We were charged an extra 40.00 so our bill came to over 172.00. The manager also stated, yeah a lot of people complain about the theater menu bill but there is nothing I can do. He said he would talk to his boss about changing the font size...really??? the 40.00 was clear it was everything added to it that was confusing.
Be the first to ReplyAuthentic Greek Mediterranean Spot in Philadelphia.
Estia! This restaurant is beautiful and always has been. Its exquisitely decorated with white washed wood and exposed beams and stone. The open bar and kitchen create an inviting vibe to watch all the action. The staff is attentive, helpful and experts on the gigantic menu. There is some exhilarating feeling I get when my food is delivered and it's smoking or on fire. The Saganaki! You know what I'm talking about! It's visually appealing, the food gets a nice char and flavor, kind of like dinner and a show. The crab cake was pure crab devoid of any nonsense embellishments per usual. For entrees, we ordered the branzino and halibut both impeccably prepared. The branzino's lemon butter flavors were excellent and served with Horta, wilted greens. The halibut was delicate and melted in your mouth. Excellent Philadelphia spot! Loved it!

What a great variety / unique dishes here! This is such a solid and consistently good restaurant.Staff here take their time to memorize the menu and are prepared for questions. Many people may not have had Greek food before and I think this restaurant does a good job of meshing the food and culture together in a way that people will not be intimidated by when they dine here! The restaurant has a old school charm to it with the low lighting, clean sharp white tablecloths, and classic wooden chairs. The fried calamari has the right texture, the pasta a la grecca with chicken was nice, the lobster linguine was a perfect combo of sweet and bright! Plus the sorbet and salted caramel baklava was a great way to end the meal.P.S. their theater menu is great for anyone wanting to watch a show nearby!

I moved to Colorado would fly back to Philly with the sole purpose to eat here. I was recently in town and came back for dinner and the quality of the food was exactly as I remember. You absolutely must try to estia chips and lamb chops.

I visited Estia after making a last minute reservation for our anniversary dinner. It came highly recommended and didn't disappoint on many fronts. The seafood (oysters in particular) was fresh! The Lavraki was equally fresh but could have been seasoned a little more. I ordered from the Theater Menu and it was well worth the $40. The cocktails however were very very strong, so I would give that a miss. For fresh seafood and ambience, I give Estia 4.5 stars! Must try.
Be the first to ReplyGreat ambiance and great food.
Salads are very good. Decor is beautiful. Fresh seafood display is very nice. Good place for lunch and dinner. Overall good service.
Be the first to ReplyIt was ok.
The staff was friendly and the food was good but not impressive. Had the calamari, Caesar salad and roasted chicken, others had the moussaka, pasta and fish no complaints just not wowed like we thought we would be.

The aesthetic and ambiance is a haven in the middle of the city. There are tasteful decorations and unique art pieces that make wherever you sit a real treat. Bathrooms have a rustic softness that keeps you in the zone of an Italian paradise. The servers are professional and courteous. Best for last... the food! The theater tasting menu is a great way to stretch your cash. The octopus app is worth the pay bump, as is the lamb chops but if you're looking for good eats under $50, stick to the standard options. The dipping sampler had a pow hidden in each option, plus complimentary hummus to further the comparison! The spanakopita is crunchy yet still decadent enough to melt in your mouth. The braised lamb is the perfect portion size & the moussaka is fantastic. The almond cake is moist and thick. You can't go wrong with this place, get reservations and make it happen!
