Great Birthday Dinner
I took my daughter here for her birthday. The bread and Hummus they started us out with were very good. We both enjoyed the excellent Grilled Octopus. It had great flavor and was so tender. My daughter had the Moussaka. The portion was perfect. It was delicious and melt in your mouth good. I had the Seafood Trio over Orzo. It was very good. They also make a great Espresso Martini. I could go back and just have some of the amazing sounding appetizers and drinks and would love to try the Salted Caramel Baklava.
Be the first to ReplyGreat food, service, and ambiance!
My wife and I have eaten here several times and have always had a great dining experience. Tonight was no exception. When the hostess seated us, she said, "Your server is Paige. She is lovely." Paige was divine! We cannot detail her divinity enough--she is professional, attentive, and helpful. She gave us great recommendations. My wife started with a cocktail: Meet Me in Mykonos. She loved it. Then we shared a bottle of a crisp Pinot Grigio while we shared a Greek salad (our favorite). Then I had the Dover Sole (velvety and flavorful) while my wife had the Moussaka. We will be back. We only hope that we can sit in Paige's section again.
Be the first to ReplyMost disappointing meal in our 10+ years in PA
This is not only because it was our most expensive meal in 10+ years in PA or because it was our anniversary. First, when we were seated, my plate either had red wine or vinegar on it. The dover sole was the worst I have had anywhere. It was simply dry/overcooked and so small, with little flavor. And it came with nothing. The halibut was somewhat dry and also had little flavor. We also ordered the orzo with onions and Greek yogurt. It really was onions with hints of orzo. We tried to have a sense of humor about it and searched for any signs of orzo. We just did not eat it, because it was virtually all onions. This was a remarkably disappointing meal. The only reason we're not giving it one star is because the chocolate torte was excellent.
Be the first to ReplyOne helper was way too much!
The food here was fabulous, and the nice man that waited on us was very nice, however the girl that kept coming over to our table every few minutes was way too much. I tried to tell her in a nice way to leave us alone, and let us enjoy our meal, but she was really getting on some of our nerves. I told her to leave our plates, and she kept on reaching for our plates, snd silverware when we warn’t really done. She was also trying to flirt with my sons, and was acting like a teenager. At the end of our meal some of us was not happy, and couldn’t wait to leave. My advice is to let people enjoy their meal without her interfearing every few minutes.

Estia is top-notch. have been going to all their locations for 15 years and I have never been disappointed. the Fagre is my favorite fish there, the estia chips are a must and the wine selection is very good. highly recommend
Be the first to ReplyAuthentic Greek Food & Atmosphere
Such a great restaurant! Love it here so much but haven’t been since during the pandemic. Was a great night out with great friends. Amazing Greek waiter (George) great cocktails (Spartan Shield), wine and food! Such a beautiful atmosphere and decor. And now that I’ve been to Greece recently, the food was so so authentic and I thoroughly enjoyed everything about it. Had the pita and dips and the zucchini chips w/ TZATZIKI for starters and the Lobster pasta for main. Not cheap so I view this as a special treat but so worth it!!
Be the first to ReplyService was TERRIBLE and food not worth the money. We won't be back.
We went to Estia on a Thursday night. A few years ago I was a HUGE fan of Estia and just loved many of their dishes, particularly the rice/spinach dish and many others. I was very excited to be going there for a special birthday celebration and have never been so disappointed. First of all, it was so NOISY that it was hard to carry on a decent conversation. The lights were so dim that we could barely read the menu. It took the waiter 40 minutes to even bring our bread to the table (although I admit I loved the dip that came with the bread). It took us at least an hour and 15 minute to get our dinner. The wait was ridiculous. The Caesar salad was decent as was the beet salad but the rice/spinach dish was tasteless. Thankfully the waiter did take it back and didn't charge us for it. The walnut cake dessert was very good and my husband liked his salmon (although I didn't like it at all). To summarize, this restaurant has little to recommend it. It is expensive, the service was TERRIBLE, and the food on a whole was average. I don't know what happened but it certainly isn't the Estia that I remember from a few years ago. We DEFINITELY will not be back and I do NOT RECOMMEND it to anyone.
Be the first to ReplyExcellent food but very bad customer service. Never again!
We came to this restaurant to celebrate the 4th of July. We were 3 couples at the table. The food was excellent though very expensive. The thing that outraged me was that the waiter was not ready to give us 3 separate bills. He claims it is against the restaurant policy. Estia is not the first restaurant we have been too and this was the first time it happened. I am not planning to go there again!
Be the first to ReplyBest meal of the decade
Fathers Day dinner, outdoors, excellent waiter George, lovely Greek music, a breeze, flowers around the entryway, and AMAZING food. Best Greek food any of have ever had (and we're good eaters): excellent grape leaves (the best), excellent zucchini and eggplant "chips," fabulous spinach pie (this is not off-the-shelf phyllo; it's fantastic), even the arugula/beet salad was excellent (mostly arugula, but well dressed), fabulous roasted eggplant entree, best lamb chops ever, best moussaka ever, and...oh, the baklava and gelato: to die for. We ate a lot, the service was prompt but leisurely, we enjoyed ourselves thoroughly for 3 hours.
Be the first to ReplyPass on the Chips
Our first time back after COVID was for Mother's Day, and the food quality remains excellent. The avgolemono was very good and the octopus excellent. Avoid the $19 zucchini chips as they are good but offensively expensive for what you get. All of the main courses were very well prepared, although we all had to drink lots of water later thanks to the salt content! I dine all around the country for business purposes. Estia compares well in quality, but it does not fare well based on price. Save this for special occasions as the value is not great. BTW, we do visit Greece every other year....
Be the first to ReplyIs Estia going downhill? Terrible experience!
What happened to Estia in Radnor? In the past couple of years, management had always been professional and pleasant. The service was excellent and the food so on par -- and delicious. Now management is rude, unprofessional. Never encountered such blatant disrespect in a restaurant that prides itself on excellent "customer" service. Sadly the quality of food and the service has declined as well. We have been frequent diners at Estia over many years -- and have consistently brought many new customers to this restaurant. Estia was one of our favorite places to dine. But no more!
Be the first to ReplyExpensive but good
It seems like people who have come here either love it or hate it. We had a great experience. We were in the area and dropped in for dinner very early at 5 pm without reservations. So when we started there the restaurant was nearly empty. We were served right away, and our server Jim was excellent. He really knew the menu and was very attentive. We started with a shared plate of spreads, which was especially notable for the taramasalata. You could also really taste and smell the effect of the charcoal grill on the pita. We also had the grilled octopus. This was some of the most tender octopus I have ever had, and I've visited Portugal and Spain numerous times, where this is widely available. Jim told me they do a 3 day process to tenderize it. The portion size was quite generous too. In fact, we took some home because we wanted to save room for the entree. For my entree I had the grilled sea bream. Jim brought them all out to me and I was able to choose the one I wanted. It was expertly fileted [although be aware that it's impossible to remove all the small bones] and came out with the head intact [so you can eat the cheek meat]. Again, the charcoal grill flavor came out very clearly, and it was expertly grilled. The skin was crispy and smoky, and the flesh was tender without being raw. A 1.5 lb fish was more than enough for me and my wife. After such a large meal, we skipped dessert, but we ordered the spanokopita to take home. So we had a great experience with great service and excellent food. But I could see how if you came at the peak of dining time, e.g. 7 pm, that it might get a bit hectic and both these things could suffer. And it certainly wasn't inexpensive. So we will definitely be coming back, but probably will come early and it won't be that frequent because we just can't afford it.
Be the first to ReplyEstia doesn’t care about customers
Was running late. Called. Was told my table was still available. I said we’d be there in 5 minutes. We were there in 3 minutes. Table had been given away. Hostess didn’t even acknowledge the inconvenience nor did the managers standing behind the hostess. We were offered two bar seats in front of the front door. Not even a drink or something as a courtesy. Walked out. Management was there the entire time. Didn’t say a word.
Be the first to ReplySo SO good !!!

Be the first to ReplyManagement from hell! (even for most loyal customers)
Estia used to be our favorite restaurant until last night – we originally went to the first Estia in Philly and then switched to the one in Radnor when it opened as it’s closer. According to OpenTable we’ve gone to Radnor nearly 100 times over the past few years. The main reason for that crazy number is that my husband is Greek - we obviously are willing to pay a huge premium to eat there just because we can’t take trips to Greece often enough. We’ve had many issues in the past with seating as have many others apparently in the reviews where we couldn’t get a nice booth or table and had to literally share a table with couples ruining their romantic dates or with parties who were obviously there on significant family occasions and have every right to be loud, ruining our experience. They always told us the better tables were reserved and even 2 hours after we’d leave, most of those tables would be free which is extremely upsetting when you’re paying a literal fortune to eat there. It’s not a bargain by any means especially as the food quality has deteriorated over the years – for instance, we were recently served cold fish which was $30/pound and the Greek Salad is a shadow of itself. We went there last night and with Covid we chose to sit outside as we have over the summer but we had asked for a table with heating in our reservation knowing it gets cold in the evenings. When we got there, they weren’t busy and had 3 nice tables on the patio with heating from the top and with the extra full heater. We asked if we could sit there and the 3 teenagers working at the front - who over the years have been exceptionally unwelcoming and don’t even recognize us- told us we couldn’t sit at those tables and wanted us to sit in a table by the parking lot, a section that was completely empty and had no heaters. The General Manager came out and we told her how often we come to the restaurant and she told us that the 3 tables at the patio were reserved for better customers who go there every weekend as well as the restaurant’s (her) friends. We found her comments absolutely ridiculous and couldn’t believe our ears. We of course insisted on sitting at one of those tables at which point she told us flat out that if we’re not happy we should just leave. She said that repeatedly, not just once – she never thanked us for our business, even in the midst of the pandemic, and kept telling us that we’re not good enough customers to get any of the tables with the heaters and should just take the table they’re willing to give us or leave, period! We had no choice but to eat at Estia since we had already driven a long way and had no other reservations on a Saturday night, plus it was a significant family occasion that we were hoping to salvage and which she had already ruined. When we were done with our dinner all the good tables were still available which added insult to injury as the general manager had picked a fight with one of their most loyal customers over absolutely nothing and even asked us to leave. Even with all the tables available at her disposal to make a patron happy - any other restaurant manager would have loved to be in the same situation - she had already decided to pick a fight with a patron before she came to talk to us and that says it all. We chose not to even bother talking to them as we left because she would pick another fight, not apologize. She has ruined all the sweet memories and celebrations we’ve had at Estia– there’s no quality in terms of food and service a restaurant can provide that will make up for this. We will not be returning to this restaurant unless she’s no longer part of the staff and the owner writes a heartfelt apology. We’ve read the reviews and she’s mentioned in many of them where they talk about how she ruins meals for no reason by screaming at employees. We’re extremely lucky we never saw her all this time even though she insisted she knew us – my family stood there and we were all scratching our heads, wondering who this deranged woman was as we had never spoken to her before. We wish Estia the very best – they can now keep all their good tables for the few customers who are so much more important and welcome than the rest of us. Goodbye Estia!
