Lovely evening celebrating a birthday with dear friends… food …wine…service all stellar and terrific … highlight of the evening server “PaPa” and his delicious olive oil and Oregano dip !
Be the first to ReplyFor the price (450$ for 2) we expected the food to be perfect
Grilled calamari was excellent, tender, & well-cooked. The lobster pasta had very good lobster, but unfortunately, the pasta was overcooked (at $100 a plate...). The grilled vegetables were nothing out of the ordinary, yet priced at $34 a plate. The service was excellent, & the ambiance was great. Overall, we expected something more special or everything to be perfect given the price ($450 for 2) . We won't be returning, but I'm not concerned for Milos; they have been around for so long.

7 of us dined at Milos mid week in December. Milos is on Avenue Du Parc in Montreal where parking is notoriously difficult. Even more so in winter when the streets are covered in snow. I would strongly recommend the valet service or have Uber bring you. We reserved for 6:30pm and the restaurant was already very busy. We were seated promptly and our server was very efficient in getting water to the table. We chose to order family style for the table to expedite the process. It absolutely helps when your host is a regular and knows the menu secrets, but equally I would trust your server to amaze you with a great selection of dishes. To start with we ordered some tomato salad (greek salad to most folks), seared octopus and hummus, calamari and the Milos Special - Paper thin zucchinis and eggplants, lightly fried, Saganaki cheese, tzatziki. It is really really good! We then ordered a whole fish baked in sea salt. Our choice was a Mediterranean Sea Bass. It was perhaps the most tender and succulent fish I have ever had. We accompanied that with some Lamb Chops - they were perfectly cooked, exceptional quality and needed no sauces or dressings. With some hand cut potatoes, grilled vegetables and salad on the side we had a meal that was outstanding. To round out the evening, Milos deserts are great. Baklava ice cream, Greek yoghurt and honey, Galaktoboureko ( a Vanilla and lemon zest custard in layered phyllo) and Ekmek Kataifo (a ‘’shredded phyllo’’ layered with custard cream and homemade Chantilly topped with pistachios) may just blow your mind! Milos has an extensive wine cellar and your serve4 can recommend some perfect pairings. Milos is an amazing restaurant. It is busy - don’t expect much space around your table. Don’t expect a quiet atmosphere. The quality of food and service is exceptional. While they do have outlets around the world, this is the original and best.

Top service, food, wine and atmosphere. Really outstanding on all levels. Greek/Med, interesting take on some traditional dishes, very helpful suggestions for food and wine. Was recommended and I would recommend.

This was a last minute decision to dine here and boy, we were glad we did. We were there for the late seating for lunch and it was packed, with more people arriving after us. It has been a while since we have been here but the place looks airy and fresh (but expect it to be noisy). We enjoyed the three course lunch. Okay. Everyone does bread and olive oil but this olive oil was extraordinary - light and fresh. Starters: The mignonette for the oysters was how we like it (very vinegary). The grilled octopus on hummus was excellent. Mains: Many diners had the Dorade (note for next visit). We had the salmon tartare - fresh and light - only came with two small toasted bread - I was too shy to ask for more :( and the fries and Mayo were really good. The lamb was tasty - it came with one (!) broccoli floret and two wedges of potatoes (so good - wished for more!). Lastly - for desserts, the walnut cake and ice cream was average (it seemed popular so we had to try it) but the best was the baklava ice cream - so decadent. Yummy :) Looking forward to returning with the rest of the family.

What a phenomenal experience. I do always say if the only complaint you have is price then it was terrific. However the prices are just insane. That being said the place was packed on a weekday and people didn’t seem too put off by a tiny fish really for one that we split for $100. Or the tomato salad we shared as an app for $33! That being said every single dish was had was the best version we ever had experienced. So as long as you go knowing you are in for 200 a head you will absolutely enjoy yourself. But at that price point I absolutely ordered conservatively as to not spend 300 a head. Wow pricey but also wow phenomenal

Last Saturday night my wife and I and another couple of long time friends booked a table at Milos for 21:15. During the reservation process we specifically asked if we would have to wait more than 15 minutes, as it has been the case almost every reservation at Milos. The hostess who took the reservation assured us we would be seating within 5-10 minutes, and insisted we arrive on time. When we arrived at the restaurant at 21:15 sharp, we felt the anxiety climb as we saw the crowded lobby with couples who had been waiting well over an hour to be seated. The hostess who welcomed us seemed overwhelmed and was not able to tell us when we would be seated. As we mingled with the people waiting to be seated, we all shared our frustrations with the restaurant’s lack of respect towards its customers. After 40 minutes of waiting we asked to be served a glass of wine, we obviously requested it be on the house. So we ordered a glass of Chardonnay wine, what a surprise when the wine arrived, we noticed it was not Chardonnay, but rather a cheap green Sauvignon Blanc! When I asked the barman to see the bottle from which the wine was poured, he nervously admitted it was indeed Sauvignon Blanc, stating they did not serve Chardonnay by the glass (another lie), and proceeded to extensively apologize for lying to us. We could not believe it! How can such a high end restaurant outright lie to its clients? That was the straw that broke the camels back!! After 30 years of loyal visits, not only to the Montreal location, but the Miami and Athens locations as well, that’s it, Milos will never see us again.
Be the first to Replygreat decor average service
We went for lunch to celebrate a graduation and found the place excellent, decor was beautiful, food was excellent and fresh, but the service was average. Our server was very condescending and seemed annoyed to serve us. We had not finished our first dish that the plates for the second dish were waiting on a table behind us!! Clearly not his best day!

This is definitely a hot place to go. Extremely attractive crowd and a lot to look at … the food is delicious also. I had the lobster pasta and the portion was huge. It was quite yummy. Our waiter was fantastic and the cocktails were delicious. The small fortune spent was well worth it. Thanks for a fab evening!

Great dinner with three appetizers, main fish course and desert. This is a lively restaurant with some of the best seafood anywhere.
Be the first to ReplySuperb Lunch Experience
Wanting to show off Montreal’s best, our friend reserved a table for lunch at this famous Greek restaurant known for super fresh fish on the first day of our visit. What a lovely experience: from finding parking practically outside the restaurant, the classy, elegant decor, the vibrant color vegetable fish display, the superb professional service, and of course the perfectly prepared food. The 3-course lunch special for $38 CAD ($30 USD) a person on weekdays was definitely a bargain for high quality seafood. Both the salads and the bream fish were fresh, flavorfully seasoned and beautifully plated. The special order of delicious lightly fried zucchini and eggplant had a marvelous mouth feel. The dessert was moist, light and yummy. All in all it was a beautiful, memorable meal, the best in our six-day visit.
Be the first to ReplyOnce was sufficient
This is clearly an exceptionally popular restaurant. It is also a restaurant that people want to “be at” - or perhaps be seen at. The food was all good. No complaints about the quality. Service was fine although somewhat rushed. There are very many tables jammed in the restaurant. I have a hard time finding sufficient value to justify the price. With an inexpensnsive bottle of wine - of which there are very few for under $100 - you are looking at dinner at $200 a person. And to be clear, we are not speaking of large portions. I realize that seafood is not inexpensive. However, this is simply a very expensive restaurant. If it was fine dining (it is upscale dining - but not fine dining) or a Michelin star restaurant - I would get it. But it is neither of those things. Happy that I tried it but I have no expectation or intention of coming back.

Food is outstanding very fresh interesting choices. My biggest complaint was that during COVID before Montreal put more rules in. The tables were so close together I felt I was rubbing elbows with my neighbours at the next table. I understand that being closed during these tough restrictive time that when open you try to make up but at what peril to your customers? Would return for a quality meal in not pandemic times.
