Not just amazing food but an amazing experience
Not just amazing food but an amazing experience. We sat at the chef’s table so we could see what was happening. The whole team were really friendly and knowledgeable about the entire menu. We did a pairing menu for wine as well which was a great addition. Relaxed atmosphere and 13 incredible moments over 4 hours. One of the best meals I’ve had.
Be the first to ReplyBiggest dissapointment in a Michelin establishement of my life
I have never posted on Tripadvisor but this time I will post everywhere to alert people, The restaurant has deleted my comment on their SM and blocked me, because it was about a negative experience! Way to go with such crisis management! The booking was made for my 40th birthday which was underlined 3 times And ultimately it has been completely ignored. My most special dinner has been ruined When we informed the staff about it while receiving a bill, no compensation was offered to us, apart from a lousy apology, On top of that we have dishes with different aspect than on Instagram (not even a single shed of black truffle on the lamb), different size of portions of the same dish, one of my plates was chipped and I made a remark about that and then they reused the same broken plate. One of the chefs had no idea how to plate the pork dish and was confused in front of the clients asking "where do I put it" . And to top it off complete lack of AC so extreme heat in the restaurant. Keep on such job and the star will be lost sooner than you got it. i have visited multiple Michelin star spots and one thing that is a must there is CONSISTENCY and professionalism. This was totally absent on the service of 14/02/24. And the restaurant manager Filipa who first blocked me on Instagram to then call me and offer a "sorry" cause she thinks it is better to solve those problems offline (the moment to solve this problem was yesterfday when we informed the restaurant, now that ship has sailed), is just a cherry on top of everything what a fine dining experience should never be. It is a disgrace for the Michelin guide.

Probably one of the best restaurants in Portugal and not only Porto. The chef and team are on top of their game on every hand, food, service, wine and ambulance. I have been visiting few Michelin starred restaurants quiet often but i have rarely seen such a passionate team working together. If you in Porto, it is a must!

I usually do not rave about a restaurant, but I guess I need to this time. We came for lunch with pretty good expectations, sitting at the chef’s table but we were not prepared for this outstanding experience. This team of young people have put a superb 10+3 course food story on the table along with excellent explanations and service. We opted for the small winery wine paring option and I sure am glad we did. Pretty much perfect pairing and some very good unique wines. Laid back ambiance, friendly and professional staff, one of the best food experiences I had this year and I have visited a few continents during the year… So hats off guys, keep up the outstanding work.

Wonderful experience. Beautiful space albeit a bit dark- highly recommend the chefs table for terrific service. No waiters- they are all chefs which makes the experience more special. Everything was delicious and highlights local ingredients and specialties. And for those who prefer a nonalcoholic pairing, they have wonderful house-made beverages.

Wow, what a great meal and a great evening. We sat at a long counter facing the kitchen. The chefs are right there cooking and talk to you the entire time explaining what you are eating and drinking and are so friendly and happy to answer any questions. They all have wonderful personalities. There are 10 courses plus 2-3 extras. The food was amazing. We loved it all. My husband ate every thing and had the wine paring which he found very generous. I let them know ahead of time that I smoked a pescatarian and they easily accommodated me. I had a few glasses of wine by the glass which I had them select and they were well priced and delicious. We thought the 4 hours flew by and also enjoyed talking to our ‘neighbors’ who were from all over. A wonderful evening.
Be the first to ReplyDon't miss it, really very good!
I visited the place on Jan 27th with my wife, it was an amazing experience. Be ready for a great atmosphere, super cool people, genuinely happy to delight you and make your dinner unforgettable. The chef was very friendly. I was surprised with decoration, look like a Japanese restaurant, intimist and very comfortable, it's a small place probably 20 seats. We stayed in front of the kitchen (recommended). It's tough to get a table, book in advance. The Fish dishes are my preference, very testy and served on beautiful designed plates. Difficult to choose the best plates, I'd say the Shrimp & Scarlet, grace and wonder and Corvina. They have very nice tastes and sources from Japan and Fish from Azores that we loved. About the meat, I believe the Pork head terrine is really well done. They have 2 good sommeliers and a very good list of wines including very small producers that normally are my preference. We took a bottle of "Pra La" white from Douro, that was a perfect combination with menu. With deserts, Port Niepoort 2018 that is really good, we bought a bottle on next day… ...the bread is delicious... they are a bakery very close that make great stuff! don't miss it. Two opportunities in my opinion: - I love sweets and the deserves were not good, really basic, not at same level of the main Dishes. My sisters told me they make delicious deserts... maybe I went on a wrong day. Ice cream with cookies and pear s in wine are basic deserts... and not my preference. (this is why is very, very good, but not excellent) - 10% service charge added on top of the bill, it's optional, but not a common rule in Europe. I don't think that make sense. I prefer to give what I want. they charge me water that I did not drink...

This team are all over it. Near faultless performance in cooking and service. Standout dish amongst many winners was the squid. The tiger sauce with the amberjack was an interesting try but felt too overpowering. In service I’d only say ease up on the speed of delivery in explaining the dishes. An extra 15 seconds using the same number of words would help avoid the customer feeling bombarded. 2 excellent sommeliers with one of the best wine pairing selections I’ve had in Porto : I went for the artisan winemakers and they delivered in spades. I’m glad they’ve ditched the football shirts but it is odd the team were all male and had facial hair. Would be good to see some female staff in the mix. Will be back. This place is too exciting to stay away from.

Hidden in a street that one does not immediately walk to, one ends up in the cave of Alibaba. After my third visit you know for sure that a star is deserved. Even though the chef was not present this time, the entire team was also ready! Coming back.......definitely!
Be the first to ReplyGreat night, lovely food
Great ambiance in the restaurant. And the food was mostly excellent, some dishes worked more than others, but that's subjective. We had the wine paring, which at €75 per person felt quite overpriced as very little wine were poured into the glasses. Plus one or two of the pairings were odd (Pet Nat). Just go for a bottle with a glass of port in the end. Very hard chairs to sit still in for 3,5 hours. 10% service charge added on top of the bill.
Be the first to ReplyA dining highlight
We loved our dinner at Euskalduna Studio. We sat the chef’s table and got to watch as the chefs worked their magic in the kitchen. They all seemed to be having as much fun as the dinners and delighted in our enjoyment. Our meal flowed from one yummy treat to the next. The wine pairing was excellent; we really appreciated being able to taste local wines we’d never get at home. They were so knowledgeable and eager to share that expertise.

From the moment we rang the doorbell till we paid the cheque and left we had an excellent time. (Over four hours!) Staff are all young, friendly and helpful. Great to see so many young people involved in such a fine dining experience. Manuel, the sommelier, was most helpful. It was great to sit and watch the chefs prepare food like works of art. Their explanations of each dish was so thorough and you could taste each ingredient as described. If you are looking through, trying to decide which Michelin star restaurant to try in Porto and you want something that lives up to the hype but isn’t too formal, this is the place for you. I will treasure the memory.
Be the first to ReplyVery good but highly overpriced!
The dishes were tasty and very fresh. The wine pairing was very good but overpriced. The sommelier was, however, very friendly and enthusiastic. The atmosphere was - generally - relax (at the "Chef's table") but every now and then, one could feel some tensions - created by one single staff member, who clearly behaved as the "chef" (ergo, "boss") (although the real head chef and sous-chef (those presented as such on the restaurant's website) were absent that night. This staff member acted harsh against other (notably, younger) staff members. He also seemed rather bored / annoyed, with a lack of enthusiasm and a semblance of contempt for the clients and his work. The rest of the staff was amazing!
Be the first to ReplyExcellent!
Great staff, excellent food and an equally excellent wine menu! Only thing i can put my finger on was that a couple of sauces seamed to have been reduced to much.. As the sauces cooled off (plates not warmed..?) they became jelly-ish in substance.. I bit odd that 10% tip was allready on the bill…
Be the first to ReplyNice experience overpriced though
The gastronomic journey was surprising and daring. Interesting combinations and a young enthusiastic team maybe the chefs of the future! However, missed an explanation of the concept resulting in an astronomic bill to cover the wine tasting accompanying the food, a bit of a bummer which left us with a bad taste spoiling the experience somewhat. So make sure it is clear before you take this trip!
Be the first to ReplyExcellent dinner
An excellent gastronomic experience. We were seated in front of the kitchen. We took the wine and the beer pairings and they were both worth it. Both, the somelier and the cooks were very nice and explained the plates and associated drinks, which made the experience fun and interactive.
Be the first to ReplyAmazing Experience
We enjoyed a 12 course fixed price meal at this intimate restaurant. The service team included several staff who waited on us and explained the food as well as a sommelier who handled the wine pairings. Although there were 12 courses, they were all in very small quantities and we did not feel as though we had overdone it when we left. The theme of the restaurant is that they are inviting you into their home. The enthusiasm with which all of the courses were presented was infectious. All of the food was Portuguese in origin but the presentation was imaginative and used techniques from all over the world. We were there for a good three hours but the time passed quickly. I could not rate the food or the experience more highly.
Be the first to ReplyGastronomic event
This fine, small restaurant is hidden in a nondescript street. Reservations are essential. To enter, you can ring the bell, which is the left eye (the right as you stand in front of it) of the wooden logo next to the door. Best seat in the house is definitely the "chef's table", that is at the counter where you can closely watch the 5 or 6 chefs preparing the food. The "degustation menu" features 12 courses, including 2 surprise courses called "pausa". The wine pairing at 65 Euro is very reasonable. Every course is explained, and you can also ask them some questions if you wish. Two small downsides are that the menu of the day of our visit was heavily on the fishy/seafood side (a bit more variety would have been good), and when the dishes are served, they are maybe luke warm, they do not come hot (except the dessert, straight from the oven). We spent a very nice evening and would go again.

Truly deserving of all its accolades. They have michelin stars for a reason. What takes it to another level was the staff. The chef and staff explain everything and are totally engaged the whole evening. Its like enjoying an incredible meal with your BFF. The staff and patrons are all engaged in an incredible experience. Been to a lot of top flight restaurants, but this was truly special. Wine pairing was done to perfection. Highly recommend without reservation!
Be the first to ReplyFabulous, Passionate Food
Dining at Euskalduna was a pleasure in every way. The restaurant seats no more than 20 guests, half at an eating bar and half at tables. The staff of 6 were all passionate about their food and the wine pairings. They made you feel welcome from the moment we found the nondescript entrance and the doorbell hidden in their small sign which you must ring to gain entry. They took time to give as much or little explanation as you wanted for each exquisite course and each very unusual but wonderfully paired wine. By all means get the wine pairing. It would be impossible even from their thoughtful wine list to select a bottle or 2 which would compliment the parade of different courses. And it is educational. Although I cellar over 1,200 bottles at home the generous pours of multiple wines over the evening was full of surprises. And, of course, the food brings a series of delightful, inventive surprises as well. The whole evening was flawless and the price of the experience extremely reasonable. Don't miss it!
Be the first to ReplyAn amazing meal that challenges your tastebuds
We ate at Euskalduna yesterday for my husband's birthday and enjoyed every moment of our meal.
The menu was incredibly inventive, we tried a huge number of ingredients we have never had before and it really challenged you and got you thinking (and I mean that in an amazing way). The fact that the ingredients are all sourced from their farm/fishery makes it even more spectacular and it's great to know it is done so with sustainability in mind. To be able to discuss the dishes and ingredients with the chef's really showcases their passion, creativity and love of their craft.
We also had the wine pairing with our meal, which the sommelier should be commended for. There were 6 wines to the 10+ courses meaning a number were matched with more than once dish. As the dishes are so different for them to have managed this with such perfection is a great feat. Every single wine was beautiful and really showcased the amazing selections of Portuguese wines available.
I would highly recommend a trip here and definitely getting a seat at the chef's table to be able to watch these masters at work.
