Foraged Restaurant Denver Reviews from The Last Year
It was OK.
The ambiance was the best part. It had great unique touches. As far as the food-I feel it was good but nothing truly stuck out. The sushi was just OK and truly not rolled tight enough. The food was way over priced and should have tasted better for the price.
I had a wonderful birthday dinner at Foraged.
Our server, Ansel, did a great job and made the night so special. He is an outstanding server. The food was delicious, and the drinks were amazing. I will definitely be going back, and asking for Ansel!
Limited but quality happy hour, impeccable service! I
Limited but quality happy hour, impeccable service! I visited Foraged for their happy hour on Monday and was surprised to see this place was practically empty! I was surprised because there's no reason not to check it out: the food was excellent, service top tier (Ross took great care of us), and the design is stunning. The interior is reminiscent of a modern upscale after hours spot, so maybe it's more lively later in the evening. I will say, although the happy hour selections are limited, their offerings were exceptional. I was so obsessed with that soy butter sauce that came with the edamame, I kept it to dip my roll in after we finished the appetizers! Maybe with a more accessible location this happy hour would become a regular for me, as I doubt i'll get lucky with parking on a busier day. Overall, superb experience and I look forward to more from this establishment!
The food was good, the service was horrible.
The waiter took my partner's order and as I started talking to order, we made eye contact and knew that I was ordering but he walked away. When I flagged him down, I said I would like to order. He said "I know it's fine." I waited for him to be ready to take my order and he still wasn't listening to me. So I said you walked away and didn't take my order. And again he said "IT'S FINE ITS FINE!" And did big hand motions and started to back away. I just wanted to put my order in with my partners so I said my order as he was walking away. We were so confused by him, and felt hurt that he didn't apologize and he dismissed our needs.

Food was 6/10, it was a little over priced for what we got, and it took a very long time to receive our food. The ambiance was nice. Overall not a bad experience but it is definitely on the expensive side.
Regrettably, the dining experience at Foraged fell short
Regrettably, the dining experience at Foraged fell short due to lackluster service. Despite an intriguing menu showcasing locally sourced ingredients, the charm waned in the face of inconsistent attentiveness. Slow response times and a lack of enthusiasm from staff overshadowed the culinary potential. A sense of disconnect between the kitchen and the front-of-house diminished the overall enjoyment. While the concept of foraging for local produce is commendable, the service missteps detracted from the anticipated dining pleasure. A more seamless integration of service and culinary excellence would undoubtedly enhance Foraged's appeal and encourage a return for discerning patrons.

Came here for NYE with a big group and was disappointed to say the least. Honestly the two stars are for the service as both the hostess and our waiter were super sweet and helpful but I'm sad to sad the food was meh overall. Started off wanting some hot sake but alas another restaurant that only serves cold sake and I was disappointed. Went with a Mule instead and it was bland and left a lot to be desired. Went with a miso soup instead in search of some warmth and it was so unbelievably salty I couldn't even eat it. I'm not a big salt person so I had my fiancé try it too and he said it was inedible as well. Moving onto apps, we ordered a bunch to share with the table. We got the edemame, the veggie gyoza, tofu bao buns, and charred broccolini. The broccolini and bao buns both came out cold. Like as it they were just taken out of a fridge cold... which was very disappointing. The veggie gyoza was so over spiced you couldn't even tell what it tasted like, but after one bite I couldn't even get myself to finish the rest. The edemame was pretty good though! As far as rolls go I shared the forager and the Tony Stark rolls and both were good but when I'm spending $22 per roll I'm expecting it to be great. The Foraged roll was definitely a fan favorite overall. A few people got some nigiri as well and said that was pretty good. It was New Years Eve and they were busy so we didn't want to continuously bother the waiter as the poor quality of the food wasn't their fault. Maybe it was the holiday rush that left all the food so subpar. (Although it really didn't seem much more crowded than it would be on any given weekend night). But I'm sad to say I don't think I'll be coming back here.
The food was not good in my opinion.
The spider roll was gross. Service and ambiance was cool
Calamari - awesome Mussels - delicious Sake - amazing Rolls
Calamari - awesome Mussels - delicious Sake - amazing Rolls - so so so so good Blistered shishito peppers - decent They were out of bao buns - which was super disappointing. The side salad was a bit bland. Didn't love it. Great place to have conversations and a good evening. Service was amazing. Great vibe overall.
Do not eat here.
The fish was so bad. Just bad, bad bad bad. Not fresh. Dried out and fishy. The oyster was horrendous. The only thing that was good were the drinks, which are more difficult to mess up. A fancy "high end" restaurant cutting corners on cost by sourcing the cheapest, and I'm sure, most unsustainable fish EVER. The name "Foraged" is a joke.
Shockingly Rude Hostess
I thought you might appreciate knowing how your hostess tonight treated several guests (us). We walked inside and had to wait a while to be seated, which was fine since it seemed like y'all were short staffed tonight, but we were then shown to our table and waited...15? 20? minutes and no one had come by to check in with us, bring us water or take our drink order, so we asked the hostess for water and got a snarky "yeah, fine." So that was weird. Then we waited another 5-10 minutes, received no water, and as we were walking out I let the hostess know that we were going to look for another restaurant and her response was a * very * rude, "FINE." Such a weird experience! Very unsatisfied. I would definitely not recommend eating here, which is too bad, because it smelled really good inside!
Incredible Omakase
The Omakase is amazing! The presentation is beautiful, and the fish is so delicious. We took the sake recommendations as well and it paired wonderfully. We’d go back in a second.

Hey @FluffyStar64, thanks for the question! When you place your bid the amount gets transferred in a deposit account, the second you either cancel your bid or a few minutes after the bid expires the funds are moved back into your main account from where you can refund it to your payment method or use for other transactions.
