Had high hopes based on the looks of the place, but most important element - the food - was simply not good. Classic example of trying too hard to present the classics as something more elevated.... Too expensive for very mediocre cusine

Fort Oak did an amazing job of converting a former Ford dealership into a cozy and spacious restaurant that can accommodate both large parties and intimate weddings. We loved the private room that they converted for the wedding that we attended. The
Had high hopes but food was only okay.
Fort oak is located on the edge of hillcrest. The restaurant has an outdoor area, bar area and indoor seating area. On a Sunday night the indoor area was pretty loud and dark. Service there is pretty good. They checked in on us quite a bit and our
First timer! It was an amazing experience.
It's a fun, energetic space with a mixed crowd and upbeat music. They have portable heaters if needed on a cold night, and is good for both small and larger parties. For us, we ordered a bunch of different items off of the menu and did it family

Fabulous, spacious restaurant (lots of outdoor seating) tucked away in the neighborhood. Seats outside were comfortable. Service was fine. A little inattentive, but within normal bounds. Duck was ever so slightly overcooked (for me), but the bean
We came for the Oysters on Happy Hour Monday.
They were the best ever! we really enjoyed them. The ambiance was great, the staff courteous and friendly, the service good. Don't remember our waiter's name, but he had blue nail polish with an impeccable manicure. He was very helpful and
Stunning design incorporating real wood in the ceiling.
We only checked out bar portion of the restaurant leaving us in wow. Luckily, we also grabbed drinks during happy hour - extended hours are much appreciated and offerings are pretty fun. Come check it out when you have a chance!
The drinks and service here was really good.
They had a decent happy hour with decent prices. The food however was all really salty. The bean dip I will say was really good and this tasted great. Would get this again. The fries were really crispy and that was good but was salty. I love sa

Another great happy hour at Fort Oak! Chicken wings might be the best in San Diego. Grilled oysters and burger are always a hit. Walk in and sit at the bar for a great night!

Fort Oak has a lot going for it: great location w/a cool building and nice indoor and outdoor options. Most importantly, the food and drinks are both excellent; that's undeniable. However, I can't help but feel that it's seriously ove

You can never really go wrong with the Trust restaurant
You can never really go wrong with the Trust restaurant group and Fort Oak is no exception. When you're walk in, you're greeted by a beautiful curved bar with pieces of driftwood suspended from the ceiling. The aesthetics of the place feels very invi
The drinks are great as well as the bar atmosphere.
Why the two star rating: There is a female manager with long brown hair (in a pony tail) that usually roams the restaurant and helps out at the front host podium. For a manager of a restaurant where you're supposed to be welcoming, cordial, and frien

I came for the $1 happy hour oysters with a friend.
I recommend getting there early or making a reservation. My friend and I arrived at 5 pm and didn't account for the wait to get seated and to order the oysters, so we ran out of time to order a second round. This would be perfect for a date night!
Got sick on their oysters during the holidays.
When I notified the restaurant, they were very rude about it.
The food is very good as is the service.
Not sure what the price is because I was hosted but my friend didn't seem concerned. I will go back.
I am pleased that we got to eat here.
The drinks were great and left us feeling nice! Our service was excellent, best service ever by Miguel. If you're fortunate enough to get Miguel then you're in for a treat. He was attentive, pleasant, patient, and kind. He explained the answers to th

Legitimately one of the best pork chops I've ever had.

Excellent and Pricey American Restaurant
The location is beautifully decorated. The bar makes excellent drinks. Service is very professional. The menu has several sharing options to start, and all are delicious. The main courses for the price are a bit meager. Wine list is good however

Great service and quality food.
The cocktail choices were also very impressive in addition to a few off the menu items. Great for a special occasion or random Saturday meal. The oysters were some of the larger ones I've had in the San Diego area, which was an added plus.

Service was great but sorry to say the food was awful. Oysters were tiny and every single one had broken shells in them which was the worst feeling in my teeth. Then I had the gem salad...it was bad, like really bad. The server explained about the &q
Best most consistent restaurant in San Diego.
I've been more times than I can count and the god and service are on point. It's definitely pricy so be prepared for that. The one area they could improve is dessert. Delicious.
I took 9 work colleagues here for a dinner this past Monday.
They were so impressed and would not stop talking about it. They had the greatest time. We ordered seafood towers, bread, broccoli, lamb kefta, and a few other apps I can't remember. All amazing. My fav was the scallop augachile from the tower, and t
Food quality is fantastic and tasty.
Seafood is very fresh! Veggie plate came with very creative taste profile, and most important tasty. Worth the price!
I went here for my birthday in the evening.
I enjoyed the apps the most and the hard cider- very yum. Going with family it's always nice to share bites of unique food which the apps were perfect for. Their food is indeed unique and yummy, I found some dishes to be just slightly too salty for m

Let's say Peter has a great morning and decides to take his three friends to Fort Oak San Diego at 6 PM the same day.
He checks the restaurant's website and sees that no reservations are available. He then looks at the Fort Oak San Diego page on AppointmentTrader, but finds that there are no user postings either.
That's where the community-driven bid process comes in.
Peter can place a bid on AppointmentTrader, which serves as a reward for any community member who chooses to work on securing the reservation. AT then notifies experienced users who may be able to help.
Step-by-Step Process
1.) Setting a Reward (Bid)
* AppointmentTrader uses historical data to recommend a reasonable reward amount for securing a reservation - let's say $100.
* Peter really wants to go, so he increases the bid (or reward) to $200.
* At this stage, the reservation does not exist yet.
2.) A Community User Picks Up the Bid
* EternalAnt36, an experienced AT user, has a strong track record of successfully securing reservations and low refund requests, they receive a notification about Peter's $200 bid.
* EternalAnt36 picks up the bid, meaning they will now work on securing the reservation.
* Peter can now talk to EternalAnt36 for any questions Peter may have as EternalAnt36 user fills the bid.
3.) Finding the Reservation
* EternalAnt36 now uses their connections at Fort Oak San Diego to secure the table.
* If they successfully get the 6 PM table for four, Peter receives a confirmation that the reservation has been secured.
* If EternalAnt36 fails to secure the reservation, the bid is returned to the pool so another user can try.
4.) Payment & Protection
* Once the reservation is secured, EternalAnt36 receives the $200 reward which is credited to EternalAnt36's AT balance, where users manage their own funds and can withdraw via available payout options such as bank transfer, PayPal, or Zelle.
* Peter can now enjoy the dinner with his friends at Fort Oak San Diego!
* As with all transactions on AT, disputes and no-show fees are handled through the platform's community-driven resolution system. Users with a strong track record are incentivized to fulfill bids successfully, and community members can report issues to maintain trust in the marketplace.
