I came here for dinner on a Friday night and it was delicious. I do recommend you make reservations because it was really full. I had the steak enchiladas and I was amazed at the quality of the ingredients. The steak could have used some more seasoning in my opinion but overall the taste of the dish was delicious. The dessert was also good but to me; it did not taste like bread pudding; but the sauce was very delicious. When you eat all the components together the dish was perfect. The portion was good as well. The biscuits were also delicious and the drink as good. We had dessert and overall this place was great. The service was excellent and we were never rushed. They did run out of some things such as the cherry blossom drink and the biscuits. We had to wait a while for us to get biscuits. I would definitely recommend this place and I think this is a great place. The bathroom had the door thing at the bottom which I like because it allows me to use my foot and not my hand to open the door.
Be the first to ReplyGreat variety of appetizers and entrees including brunch.
I was undecided and so I opted for the fried platter which included shrimp, cod and a crab cake. Replaced the fries with Mac n cheese and I probably shouldn't have. The Mac n cheese was a bit bland. Anyhoo, servers were friendly and the company was awesome. We were seated near the kitchen which can be a bit noisy, however , it wasn't bothersome. Oh and I can't forget, the buttermilk biscuits. Make you wanna slap yo momma good. I'll be back for sure.

So many wonderful thoughts about Founding Farmers but the most important is about selection. As a pescatarian it can be a challenge finding a restaurant that works for a variety of dietary restrictions with GOOD option. FF hits that mark! I did lunch here and had the crab and shrimp risotto. It was beyond yummy. Our server was so patient. We took so much time chatting and talking that he had to come back 3 times before we were ready to order and he did not act annoyed at all. The ambiance here is casual but elevated. Nothing too fancy but definitely great for a business lunch. This may be my new city option.
Be the first to ReplyIt was so good and the food there tasted amazing.
The French fries, pasta, and the burger all tasted good. The service was also good including waiting and patience. From: an eight year old
Be the first to ReplyFound this place not far from our hotel.
Nice, modern vibe with more than adequate seating. Enrique was our server and he was very nice and attentive. I had the farmers coffee with crรจme. The coffee wasn't overly strong or bitter and was quite good. I ordered the Founding Farmers Breakfast with two over easy eggs, thick cut ham and hash browns. Food took no time to come out and everything tasted so fresh. For the two of us, it was around $40. If you're in DC and around the White House area, check it out!

Horrible horrible customer service! Makes me never want to return. My brother was treated with no respect and we were the guests. Just throw the whole restaurant away.
Be the first to ReplyGreat food, ambiance, and service AFTER we got seated.
Knowing that we needed reservations for this very popular DC restaurant (just look at how many reviews this place has), my husband and I checked in with the hostesses when we arrived. Since we were early, we were told we'd be texted when our table was ready and were free to go to the shopping plaza across the street. We did just that, got our text at our reservation time, and checked in again with the hostesses, who told us to step to the side and our table would be ready in a few minutes. The lobby on a Sunday morning there is very crowded, with people constantly arriving and getting in line for a table. After a good 30 minutes, my husband went back to the hostess stand and checked on our table only to find that they'd listed us as NO-SHOWS! Yes, we should have checked on our table earlier, but we didn't, assuming they were just so busy. Anyway, they seated us right away after the error was pointed out, and from then on, we had a great brunch experience. Our server was fantastic, the food was delicious, and I'd definitely come back here. For my beverage, I ordered "Today's Rickey" which happened to be cherry, apropos for cherry blossom season. A rickey has lime juice, seltzer, and today's syrup (cherry)--so refreshing and not too sweet. My husband and I ordered some biscuits to start and those were tasty. For my entree, I had the Chicken Pot Pie, which was a deconstructed version, with the filling separated from the "pie" part--so good! My husband had the Fried Chicken and Waffle, also good, especially the mac n cheese that come with the dish. I can see why this place is so popular; there were several large parties and it is definitely a place I would frequent for special events if I lived here. If we're ever back in town, I'd return for another meal...with reservations.

SO GREAT, I can't say enough! make reservations or you'll be doomed. But either way, it's well worth the wait!

This place reminds me of going to restaurants like Applebees when I was in high school, where there was a wide selection of food but no particular stand out dish. It's passable if you want something chill, but definitely not worth the wait. We got the shrimp linguine and baby back ribs, both which were ok (salty and overcooked), not too memorable. It was super packed even at 9:00pm! We had a dog with us so it was nice to get outdoor seating.

This restaurant was really good when I went there for dinner. The food was good, and I enjoyed eating it. The sodas weren't the best, but they were good. The cornbread was quite good too, and I enjoyed it. The service was friendly and quick, and our server checked on us the perfect amount. The ambiance in the restaurant is quite nice too, but not my favourite. Overall, a pretty nice place to get food in DC.

Cheesecake Factory plus, huge menu, fine food, good staff who seem overwhelmed, quality has divebombed over the years:

I can definitely see why this place is so popular! Unfortunately not anything super special though so that's why the 4 stars. Good was okay. American breakfast style that wasn't amazing. Service was okay... our server walked extremely slowly which amused me since it just seemed like he didn't really have anywhere he needed to be. Overall it was a good experience but nothing crazy special.

We were lucky and got seated without reservations by sitting at the bar. Service was great. It was crowded and loud but expected for such a popular restaurant. The food was tasty! I ordered the vegetarian loaf with mashed potatoes, cauliflower and Brussels sprouts. My family and friends ordered the shrimp and grits. Our plates were completely clean when we got done. I only wished they put more of the mushroom gravy on top of the vege loaf. Also, restrooms needed to be cleaned. Otherwise, it was a very great experience and I would come back.

We made a reservation the day of and the only time we could get was 2:45 so I recommend making reservations early. I got the straw and hay bucatini which was good because the bucatini tasted good and the bacon, peas, cheese, and corn went well together. However, the pasta felt very heavy. My boyfriend had the steak and the steak wasn't well seasoned. The sides, asparagus and mashed potatoes, were really good. We felt rushed out and given the check even while we were eating as the place was so busy.

Michael was fantastic! He was the perfect mixture of being attentive without being pushy as we took a while to order. The food was amazing....0verall a great time! The prime rib was perfectly cooked and the chicken and waffles was excellent!
Be the first to ReplyWent here on a busy Saturday morning for brunch.
We had reservations in advance and I'm glad we did! This place is great in that they focus on locally grown cuisine, which I always appreciate. We were seated upstairs and service was friendly and pretty fast, especially considering how busy they were. The coffee was great - that was probably my favorite thing! Hubby got a mocha which was very small and not good for $7...I would definitely recommend going with the coffee instead. Food was pretty good - I had the veggie scramble (not bad), the brรปlรฉed grapefruit (on point!), and the buttermilk biscuit (not bad, but tasted more like a scone than a biscuit...it was a little too sweet for me). Overall a good experience, but I wasn't blown away by the food. That said, I would go back and try something else and definitely have more of their coffee!

Be the first to ReplyGreat food and incredible service.
The word is out, so expect a crowd but it is definitely worth the wait. Ivan at the bar is excellent and the food is familiar but delicious!
Be the first to ReplyGreat good and drinks.
I always try to eat here when I'm DC. Be sure to make a reservation.
Be the first to ReplyDon't do it.
Seriously just don't. It's a buffet, the food is fine. It's massively overpriced the service is fine as well but it's just so many people looking for a scene. Good people watching though.
Be the first to ReplyWe had very high expectations and were very disappointed.
The hot chocolates were great but our food arrived and it was cold. They tried correcting it by giving us a new plate but was 10min later. Our ham was still raw. Hash browns were cold like they were previously frozen, and still uncooked. Even my son refused to eat them saying they tasted "bad". All the food was very greasy. The pancakes were delicious. Overall, ambience was nice but food was very disappointing. Will not go back.

On our way to the White House tour, we stopped in here for a quick breakfast. It was packed. A fifteen minute wait for outdoor seating (a little too cold for us), or 45 minutes for inside. OR, first come first served at the bar/counter. We took our chances and were handsomely rewarded when another couple left. Breakfast was deliciously and quickly prepared.
Be the first to ReplyThis was our second visit to Founding Farmers this week
This was our second visit to Founding Farmers this week while in DC and enjoyed it both times. The food is good, the service was great, and the ambiance is good as well. I would suggest though, even though it seems based on the idea of "founding" and the beginning of America, the cotton in the boxes at the booths isn't required to convey the idea.
Be the first to ReplyGreat service.
Good excellent. Would recommend and will definitely come back next time in DC.
