Characterful
We enjoyed breakfast here. The breakfast lunch divide is 11.30. The coffee is enjoyable without being great. The breakfast menu is hearty withe bacon and egg roll appealing. The poached eggs were as I like them: firm without being rock hard.
Be the first to ReplyWorst Breakfast- Even worse service
With a seemingly extensive breakfast and drinks menu, an individual is easily drawn to the hipster-esque quiet ambience of the "Four Six Eight", the trendy name luring innocents. I was one such innocent. Upon my approach, my choice was clear. I wanted the "burnt fig and cinnamon toasted almond museli with Bondi coconut yogurt and seasonal fruit". Sounds appealing, but for $14.50 (and another variation priced at $17)!! I was beyond disappointed. The presentation was extremely poor, the "fruit" unripe, with few and far between. The "coconut yogurt" was a simple drizzle, and the "milk" provided, whilst I asked for almond, was given rice milk. The toasted museli was the dominating factor, and by that, I mean about 4 cups of it was shoved onto a plate. My partener ordered the avocado toast, yet another dissapointing one white slice with a few sprigs of something or other. Choices were poor. Food was bad. Not again
Be the first to ReplyGrabbed a mocha here while charging my phone
After a visit to Paddington Market I was looking for a cafe to have a coffee and to charge my phone. To my surprise a lot of cafes close very early on Saturdays (it was 3pm then). Four Six Eight wasn't close yet but would be at 3.30pm. I sat at the window seat facing the church across the street, ordered a mocha ($6, quite pricey), plugged in my phone and enjoyed the coffee before it was time to leave as they were closing.

This cafe is very nice. Great relaxed feel and nicely styled with a modern but old world mix. The Steak or lamb sandwiches and delicious and the bread they use is very nice. A great range of nice teas as well.
Be the first to ReplyIt's alright
Overall, the experience wasn't too bad. Nothing outstanding, but everything is pretty good. Smoothies were ok, kind of bland. Food was ok, nothing that blew me away but tasted good. Service was good too. I liked the decor though, it was very vintage and unique.
Be the first to Reply$5.50 for a standard almond milk hot chocolate, really?
I'm a great supporter of Oxford Street, and love all the cafes along the strip, but I've become increasingly frustrated at the cost of almond milk (straight from a box) when having a coffee or hot choc. Surely a regular almond milk hot chocolate is not worth $5.50? I can pop down to Bills at darlinghurst and get a large homemade almond and macadamia milk chai for $6.00 and that is so so worth it, but it eeks me that there are extra 50c charges thrown here and there when it's not worth it.
